Why doesn't my car radio work all of the sudden?
[Question]
I have a 2005 LR3 by Land Rover, i was listening to my radio all day and it has been fine, until later on tonight when i turned on my car and went to listen to the radio (it would turn on but there was no sound). what could have possibly happened/gone wrong??
[All Answers]
Antenna? You could check the wiring, or ask a pro.
check the fuse(s). Some vehicles have multiple fuses for the sound system
Is there a mute button?
Check fuse
may be u made it way to loud on your last use and the amp might have blow
1. Radio Antenna
2. Speakers are disconnected
3. Check Fuses
4. Pull out radio and check the wire harness to make sure it is still clipped into the back of the radio.
all of the previous answers are possiblitys but also if its a stock radio it is possible that it just broke ,I have had stock radios in newer cars go out on me in the past ,after market head unit is the way to go!
take it to a dealer it probably has warranty but it might be a fuse
Oh I know I'm gonna be reported but
Didn't you know they switched to digital! you need a converter box.. JUST kidding..

Why do so many people buy into the hype that is the shitty Kicker L7?
[Question]
On a constant basis i see people buying into the retarded hype of the L7
WOW cool its square!
oh wait... its square design kills any sound quality?
oh wait... its square design makes it a crappy component that wont work for over a year?
"yes 90% of square subwoofers dont even last a full year"
So why the hell do you people buy into it?
Then you arent max powering them.
Majority rules that a square subwoofer max powered isnt going to last over a year.
Im not a hater
Im an expert, i have a couple years of soundsystem experiance, and kicker L5's were my first pair of subs and last pair of kickers ever because they were TERRIBLE if you think your L7s are hott shit then i should let you listen to my alpine type X
[All Answers]
cuz it be awsome
well....true story I blew 2 L7 12"s a few years ago in one night! they were used but barley! one day on a mtx 8100D,done! Waste of money i think go with a trusted durable brand ,Hifonics,Boston Acoustics,Eclipse,Image dynamics, ect.ROUND over 30 pounds POUND!!
haven't heard alot of people say that about kicker L7... i personally have 2- 15" L7 and they work good... i had them for over 3 years without a problem, had them on 97' eclipse (my 1st car) and made the windshield rattle, heads turn, alarms go off, and people angry wanting me to lower the volume, now i have them on my 05' chrysler 300c and boy do they sound loud, enough about that... they work fine, never had a problem with them, me persoanlly think others are haters... take it from me who owns a pair...
i agree! l7 is crap!
Simple, its one of the best subs on the market, PERIOD
"WOW cool its square!"
a square 12 has almost as much cone surface area as a round 15 and that plays a big part in SPL (volume)
"oh wait... its square design kills any sound quality?"
its a sub, its for bass, if you want high sound quality get a sealed box and some nice INSIDE speakers- thats were your sound quality should be coing from
"oh wait... its square design makes it a crappy component that wont work for over a year?"
""yes 90% of square subwoofers dont even last a full year""
i have had a set of L5s for about 4years now and have had no problems, i recommended L5s and L7s to my boys and they have had them for years
Kicker recommends that you break in their square subs, if you do this properly you wont have any problem (if the RMS wattage and gain are correct)
"So why the hell do you people buy into it?"
because the specs speak for themselves
"Im not a hater

if you think your type X is hot you ARE mistaking, look at the specs of the two and you will see that you Alpine looses in ever catogory
(and if you think that the RMS wattage is better because its higher you are worng because a speaker that has a sensitivity thats 3dB higher than another will only require half the RMS wattage to acheive the same amount of sound/volume) the alpines sensitivity is TERRIBLE
and if your type x sounds better, then your L5 setup was not matched/tuned correctly its that simple

How do I hook up two subwoofers?
[Question]
To my 2 channel amp? I have a (+) and (-) speaker terminal for each sub in my box. I normally use two amps but 1 is currenly getting fixed so for the time being I want to play the 2 subs off of the 1 amp. any help? Do I just do a (+) and (-) speaker wire run to the (+) and (-) Right channel on the amp and the left channel?
we usually 2 bridge the amps and run each seperately to the subs. but my 1 amp is getting fixed so i only have 1 right now
[All Answers]
yes you can run both off the same amp. right channel than left + and -
you might have to play/adjust the volume control on the amp to get the sounds right since it use to be running off 2 amps. pretty easy and simple,
put a wire into the amp's slots. run your sub's wires to the correct wire off the amp and splice or twist the three together. Quick, Fast, Simple.
Just connect each subwoofer to each channel separately. Don't overdrive the subs or they will fail.
I would not connect the two output channels together unless your owner's manual say you can do that to get more audio power.
If U want U can run each speaker off 1 of the 2 Channels of the amp. hooked up like this each speaker will get half of the amps watts. (power). Or U could bidge the amp. Bridging it means means U run the speakers in series and get twice the power or watts. To bridge the speakers U run a wire from the + of the bridgable channel of the amp to the + of the first speaker then a wire from the - of that speaker to the + of the other speaker and a wire from the - of the second speaker to the - of the same channel of the amp. Then the amp is brigded putting out twice the power and may pop a fuse.

rockfordfosgate or kicker?
[Question]
please help me tommorrow i'm going to buy some new speakers so which do you think is better two kicker cvr's in a kicker box or the 2 rockfordfosgate p3's in a ported rockford box!!! please help and these are going in a car trunk and what kind of amp would u recomend for these setup's please help
[All Answers]
Rockford Fosgates. They sound good and have a deep low hit, but sound good at mid levels. I would get either a Punch amp or a JL.
I haven't looked up those specific subs but I'd say go with Rockford... You'll prolly spend more but with car audio you gotta to get anything that'll really hit... Both brands are reliably good though so either way you can't lose... Jus don't go with like Visonik er Sony lol they're a joke (walmart junk)
They are both excellent speakers. I have Kicker CVR 15"s with a 2000w amp and a friend of mine has RF P3 12's and both are great.
Personally I would say kicker, because they are excellent, and Kicker Customer Service is also excellent. I had a slight problem, and they sent a brand new speaker no questions asked.
They rock my car, and flex my trunk like crazy.
the specs are so close that its a toss up, go for the better price
the P3s can handle a little more RMS wattage but the kickers have a higher sensitivity and a speaker with a sensitivity that's 3dB higher than another will only require half the RMS wattage to achieve the same amount of sound/volume, and the kickers play lower/deeper also
have not had any personal experience with the p3s but i had some CVRs back in the day and they sounded nice and were very durable

car cd player gets error " cd ---" how do i fix this?
[Question]
this is 98 honda accord. original cd works fine. when i put the cd-r the burned one it gets that error message and cd comes out itself.
[All Answers]
stop pirating music and buy cds!
you need an aftermarket player, 98 is old and even some 2000 players cannot play the formats of burned music.
you might need to get a new cd player if you play a lot of cd-r's. A lot of older cd players don't read cd-r's well. Newer cd players read mp3's and wma files.
I'm pretty sure it's because the cd player does not support that format. You should get a aftermarket head unit. Not only will it support that format but it could also make your speakers sound a bit better. Cheap stuff like Sony Xplod works too
