what brands are best for suwoofers and amplifiers?
[Question]
[All Answers]
kenwood or philips, better go for the kenwood tho
best subwoofer and amp i would have to go with jl audio. but there are also kicker, mtx, alpine, rockford fosgate
RD Audio
http://www.rdaudio.net
Alpine
RE Audio
Fi Car audio
Pioneer
JL Audio
Subs: it's all about Alpine Type R or Type X or Infinity Kappa or Kappa Perfect. (Kicker gives you power, but not great quality). Amps: Can't go wrong with Alpine, but Rockford Fosgate can handle the lower frequency found in bass a little better than most. Also, the mono Rockford Fosgate amps often come with a wired remote that you can run up to basically wherever you like in your car, and just turn up the bass with a dial at your fingertips - near your instrument panel, under the seat -- wherever!
JL all the way. They're expensive though, but not over priced.
Kickers are good. (Not that good) and are over priced for sure.
MTX is decent, but not worth the money.
Keenwood is good.
Alpine is good.
All of these companies have good subs and amps.
I would still recomend the JL's over anything else though.
JL has a damn good name. Look into the W series. 13.5 inch JL w7

Rear speaker on LS430 starts to crackle when volume is up or bass is high. Why? What can I do?
[Question]
I do not have much background in car audio repair, but if it is a reasonably simple fix, I might get lucky. Thanks.
[All Answers]
speaker is damaged, replace.
you cant fix it you need a new speaker. the quality of speaker is up to you. just remember you get what you pay for. i would recommend amping your speakers to help prevent this from happening again
im with nigel, replace it. speakers are complex.
Most likely it's a blown speaker like people have already said. It's relativly easy to replace by yourself with cheap aftermarket speakers.
But it could also be that they are not getting enough power from your amp at high volume. Mine used to crackle until I got a higher power amp now they don't at all. But since it's only one, it's probably blown.

mix different size subwoofers?
[Question]
would 15" subwoofers and 12" subwoofers sound good mixed?
then you get a little of both.
[All Answers]
why do you need a little of both?
a 15 is a bigger and badder 12. why would you want a 12 with it? everything a 12 can do, a good 15 can do just as well, but louder.
If you want to try it then go ahead, but i don't think the results would be as good as say two 15's.
If you are looking to mix, you should mix an 8" or 10" with a 12" or 15". Why? Because the former produce tight bass from 100Hz to 40Hz and the latter produce ear shattering bass from 60Hz to 20Hz.
If you have 6.5" speakers, go with an 8" and a 15". If you have 6x9" speakers, go wtih a 10" and 15" (or two 12" speakers).
Or, just forget about sound balance and go with 4 12" speakers or 2 15" speakers. Then wear ear protection, and watch them crack your rear windshield!
no, mixing is bad, unless you have a system properly crossed over so the subs do not touch different frequencies. They will cancel out.
all subs sizes send off different noise frequencies, so some bigger subs will over power those frequencies of the lower ones, therefor you wont really hear them that much, or it will sound like crap.

Can I install custom lights inside my car ?
[Question]
I have 2006 Mazda 3.
I was wondering can I install blue color lights inside my speedometer, so when I drive at night they'll light up. So all my lights in my dash board will blue color.
[All Answers]
From what I know, as long as it is not visible to people outside of the vehicle it is fine. Blue light is typically restricted only to police (which is why you are probably asking), but as long as it is something only you can see, cause its aesthetic to you, then it is probably ok.
Yea you can do this simply by purchasing blue spedometer lights, (google it) but make sure there not to bright. you will get pulled over.
No, you don't know how.
