i am adding an additional battery to my car for my system, should i wire the main battery to the other one?
[Question]
[All Answers]
Be careful if you wire the batterys wrong you will be running 24 volts through the electrial system, zap fried everything. Yes you can wire the batterys together.
get a "dual battery kit".
some examples:

Well you will need to either hook up the battery to the main battery or at least to your alternator. In order to keep it charged you will need to have a power supply (the alternator) hooked up to it.
If you do wire them together then you would wire them in parallel.

If I may ask, why are you hooking up an additional battery? Unless you want more time listening to your system with the car off a second battery is likely not a good idea. It will most likely cause more problems in your electrical system.
The alternator is the main source of the electrical power in your car so it is what you would want to upgrade if you upgraded anything.
Good Luck!!!
ive been there and done that...the best way is to take it to a shop...the have the voltage testers and other equipment used in the process of adding additional batteries to your car..you would have to wire the 2 in parallel...so ur running 12 volts instead of 24..but u might also need a bigger alternator,in which case...ur car might not be able to fit a bigger alternator,ur current alternator might not be able to charge both batteries properly which will cause one to go bad...and possibly explode..so,take it to a shop and have a pro do it..cuz u can fuck ur car up by wiring it wrong..and not only can u fry ur system u can fry the electrical in ur whole car..so if u do it ur self make sure u have sumbody with the equipment to do it..but its better to use the one battery until u can take it to a shop and have them do it..

what is the best amplifier i can use for...?
[Question]
for a single 15 inch kicker competition subwoofer that has 500 watts @ 8 ohms. what specification of amp should i use to get the most out of my sub?
[All Answers]
Kicker's website helps you match their subs with their amps, you should try that out.
visit this website http://automobilesltd.blogspot.com
get whatever amp u like...but if u want deep bass go for a monoblock amp..monoblocks push just bass unlike channel amps..just do not ever exceed the wattage of ur sub..u can blow them by doing just that..u can run a little underwattage but its better to go with what ur speaker can handle..but for sure go for the monoblock amps if ur wanting BASS!
rockford is good budget, sony if your cheap, then theres alpine, and alpines new line of pdx amps if your addicted to car audio like me

I need help with some car amps?
[Question]
I'm looking at some car amps and I was wanting some opinions on which amp to get, if anybody has any ideas on any different amps put a link in your answer. And make sure to tell why the amp is good. I was looking to spend about 200 dollars at the most. So I need a really good amp for 200 or under. But here is one amp I was looking at.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_m29_i24_phoenix-gold-class-d-amplifiers.html
[All Answers]
That is a class D, which means it isn't that great, but it depends what you are powering with it. You should be able to brige the channels into one if you are going to power a large sub.
I had a cheap $80 1000 watt Class D Pyramid amp for a few years powering 2 JL 10" subs. It was pretty tight. Great for techno.
ebay has more than you could eaver want check there win you pick your brand and modle
Well we will need a little more information. Do you want it for bass and if you do 200 is not going to go far. if you want it for highs and mid's and how many speakers do you intend on using and are they factory speakers or after market and if so what is the watt rating on them.
7 years ago Phoenix Gold was the best you could get.
I had a 600 watt mono block amp an alpine head unit and 2 pioneer 12's with a Alpine multi channel amp for the fronts and rears
I took 1st @the db drags I even beat the muti 12's (3 or more)
Now that was 7 years ago and honestly I didn't even know they were still around. For $200 I'd probably try 'em
also very user friendly.
for another option if you want alot of BANG for your buck 1 of the best kept secrets are Sony Xplod. You can get it cheap @ walmart and you get some nice BANG out of 'em.

[Question]

[All Answers]
hmmm alpine it's kinda good and its powerful too.......but i prefer soundstream because its better than alpine.............it's your wish whether you want alpine or soundstream
mtx makes some of the most powerful amps on the market. i run 3 10s on my thunder 1200d at 1ohm and it rocks pretty good
rockford is die hard, sony or pyramid is the most affordable. cheaply built compared to alpine, imo is the best. JL, jbl, kenwood, hifonics, if u can get a old hifonics off ebay those things rock. i got the alpine pdx stackables

Can I install my subwoofers without using a sub box?
[Question]
I have 2, 12'' Pioneer subs in a sub box but they take up a lot of room in the trunk of my car. I have a board that I can mount to the back of my seats in my car and mount the subs into the board. If I do this, my subs will not be enclosed in a box...I guess the trunk will act as a really big box. Can I do this? Will this create problems?
[All Answers]
It can be done but you would need infinite baffle sub woofers. The baffle needs to completely isolate the front from the back of the baffle. Bad thing is that they don't sound as good as they would in a box.
TRY getting a smaller box...because u have to have some kind of enclosure..u can either put it on the back or the front...i dont think it would sound good at all without a box it would have nothing for the air and sound to reflect off of...u can always get single boxes, put one speaker in a single box and place them on both sides of the trunk..the problems of running no box is that u have nothing 4 the sound to bounce off and u have nothing 4 the air to bounce off of.and u can also blow ur sub from pushing it too hard without anything to support the sound....so u can build a smaller box,buy a smaller box,get 2 single boxes,or just take it to a shop and have them do sum custom work..
