How much is this worth (Car Audio)?
[Question]
I am getting two 12 inch sub woofers in a kicker box I believe is what it is called and a 2000 Watt Amplifier. I don't know what the RMS is for the sub woofers but I am getting all of this for 100 bucks. How much is this stuff really worth and is that a good deal???
[All Answers]
Depending on the condition of the 12s, those alone are worth $100. I would say good deal without even knowing what type of amp you have.
Yea that sounds like a great deal. Usually you would need more information to be able to tell, but an amp and 2 subs for just $100 you cant go wrong
I'm fairly sure that's a decent deal but 12" subs are a little too much unless you plan on taking your car to tournaments. 10" would be your best bet, they hit harder with a sharper, and clearer sound.
WISH I WAS THAT LUCKY!! i would say thats a deal for 100 bucks even if one of the subs didn't work haha
lol some people would probably spend $100, ON THE BOX ALONE! i would wanna just listen to the system first, that way you know your at least getting something that works. If it works, you really cant go wrong.

Car Audio HELP????? ?
[Question]
1993 ford explorer I want to know if i need a H.O. alternator and extra battery and what settings for the amp?
Dual 12" CompVR Subwoofers
Peak Power Handling: 1600 watts
RMS Power Handling: 800 watts
Hifonics BXi1608D
RMS 1100 Watts x 1 @ 2 Ohm
suppose to be 1100
[All Answers]
duralast
rule of thumb is that for every 1000watt amplifier, find a way to increase the output of your engine's electric. another battery and HO alt would be ideal
HO alternator is the best option. Opt for a bigger battery, but you should consider high volume capacitors. which store a charge and give it instantly when drawn on, this will help with the base when you need the most power
You will have no problems with that system, Your alternator is probably around a 120 amp "v6 im guessing" which is what i have powering my 4 banger at 1000 watts RMS
your v6 should be able to handel that easily or with a very small light dimming problem... its not THAT much power.
Is that in jabirish?

A friend needs a 12" sub, amp, and a box. What would you recommend?
[Question]
I would of suggested a Kenwood- KFC-W3011 for the sub
Kenwood KAC-8104D Class D for the amp
and a ported box?
He wants to keep it pretty cheap and as light as possible.

Kickers are probably the best price for what you get from what i've seen. I own 2 12" kicker compcvr in a slotted box and they pump pretty hard on the kicker kx600.1 monoblock class D
www.hifisoundconnection.com has pretty good deals on refurbed amps and new amps. I have had it metered in my jeep grand cherokee and it came up to 148db at a local audio store I don't think its quite 148 but it hits i would guess about 140 max, loud enough to knock my rear view mirror off and take a chunk of glass out with it. I believe its tuned around 40hz.
I think I got it for a total around 350$ after looking for best prices.
When looking at wiring kits, cheaper for same gauge doesn't also mean you are getting the same gauge some company's put thick sleeves on their wire when it really is only equivalent to an 8gauge wire when it says 4 gauge.
http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/289509/398269.html
if he wants to go all out try fusion its great i have a whole sound system in my car and love it`!
How cheap is cheap?
look at millionbuy.com
everything there is cheap
i would say get some basic kicker comps
and a 100 amp to power it..
If you buy your wiring kit from there go up another gauge because its kinda cheap but a 4 gauge kit is still like $35.
A single type R off an amp that does around 800w on a ported box and he will **** his pants for the price.
Kicker's are good, but i've never really liked the SQ of them. If you go with kicker, find a cheap L7 on ebay or something like that.
For wiring, nothing beats www.knukonceptz.com for the price. You can get a 4 gauge kit with everything u need (and thats actually more like 3 gauge) for 35 dollars shipped!!

Alpine or Pioneer Speakers for my car.?
[Question]
i want to get some speakers for fanominal sound quality, i kinda have these two speaker sets in mind-
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8222318&type=product&id=1166840026793
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/PRS-Series/TS-C720PRS
Can some one tell me which ones would be better, i can find both sets online for around 250$. I have a sony xplod 600w (Pretty sure its 4channel) amp. Would that work to power the speakers. just plan on putting 1 pair up in my front doors with my pioneer head unit.
THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!! 5 star answer will be chossen! :)
STICK- really? i ahve chevy 1500 i want to put them in. is it a big difference from stock speakers, and do they sound clear when the volume is really turned up. ALso, you installed your self? was it hard? where did you mount the tweeter? my friend said he would install for me for free cuz he knows how but hes not a professional and i know these speakers require more work for the installation
i know i can get the alpines for around $160 off other websites, thankss thoughhh

It just so happens that I just finished purchasing and installing those exact Alpine Type Rs in my truck. I love them. I can't tell you about the Pioneers, but I am more than satisfied with the Alpines.
I installed them in a 2005 silverado 1500. I mounted the tweeters in the top of the molding that runs the height of my windshield. That was the difficult part because I had to remove the molding to cut the holes.
I wouldn't buy from Best Buy. They kind of rip you off. i would look around online and see if you can get some free shipping site, i personally like crutchfield.com. I would go with the Pioneers, they can stand up to some pretty abusive music. sorry i can't help you much with the amp stuff.
Between those 2 definitely the Alpine.
1st off... You want sound quality...
Type Rs are meant to be loud not have super high quality if you want quality look at the alpine type X

Stock speakers are super cheap... of course its a noticable difference.

what brand is the best sounding for 6 and half inch speakers for a car?
[Question]
plz give name and model number if u can thank u
[All Answers]
ANYTHING BOISE
Depends on how much u wanna spend. Boise are expensive. Also u have to to know whether u want a compenonet system of just the speaker. Infinity is good and they have 3 price range type speakers if u can't afford top of the line. Polk Audio, Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer. Stay away from Clarion and Blaunpunkt
Personally im a fan of Rockford fosgates t162S which i have in my car... they require a lot of power and are a bit expensive though...
