What is the best 15" 1000-1200 watts rms sub for $350 or less.?
[Question]
I've already heard about the Sonances and Fi's stuff. I want some comparisons though. Maybe some links to reviews. Maybe some numbers from competitions. But it has to be able to handle 1000 watts rms. I would prefer 1200 because that is what my amp will produce at 1 ohm. I dont want anyone to try to sell me anything either. I want some truly non biased information. Thanks everyone.

id go with the 15" punch hx2 by rockford subs and their 1000 watts
u can always go with kicker solo barics or sum jl audio's
If your already planning on going with Fi, dont go for kicker or JL.
The RE SX can probaby take those 1200w. The MTX 9515s. I believe the DD 3515 can also take up to 1500...

A lot of great reviews on these
jl audio is over priced..go with digital designs 3515. they have 1200 rms but can probably handle 2000 rms. peak is at 4800.

is this much power a bad idea?
[Question]
i was thinkin of 4x 10" 1000 watt subs with a 4000 watt amp for a 2000 chevy tahoe LS . will it drain my battery or should i get another battery ? and any suggestions for a decent system with $600
[All Answers]
you'll dfefinitely need another battery and a bigger alternator to charge the two batteries. a 220 amp alternatior will work. i had two phoenix gold 12's in the back of my wife's jeep grand cherokee. the subs run 100 a piece new. they are 350 watts rms each and i ran a phoenix gold RYVAL 1000 watt 2 channel amp and 4gauge wires. the ported box ran around 100
Two Phoenix Gold ryval 12's (200.00
1000 watt phoenix gold ryval amp (150.00)
ported box (100.00)
Wiring kit (50.00)
all that and would hit 148.8 dbs on a comp meter.
well worth it. now i have a DB drive 15" sub in my eclipse along with a 3000 watt Alphasonik amp that hits close to 156.3 on db.
DB DRIVE 4000watt max sub (600.00)
Alphasonik 3000 watt Class D amp ($2,000)
choice is yours

horizondrummer does not know what he is talking about. PG is garbage, always has and always will be. I rally doubt that any system that he has mentioned has hit that and that he even has those systems.
No need for a bigger alternator ,and another battery. You will need to look into the big 3 upgrade, and possible upgrade your current battery.

Good solo sub-woofer for my car?
[Question]
I would like to have at least a decent sub-woofer in my car to deliver some noticeable bass, but I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, and I have absolutely no knowledge about what to buy. All I want is one, so does anyone know of a solo sub that would be the best for me. I drive an SUV but will probably sell if for a sedan.
Budget: below $500
I dont know what spl or spql mean?
[All Answers]
For an SUV you should get a JL 12" in the back in a ported box. I like JL audio. For a sedan you would be good with a 10" in a ported box. Come to think of it, for the SUV you could use a sealed box I would think.
JL Audio = over priced
More info is needed, like ur budget and whether to go for SPL or SQ.
Looking for good quality and lots of bass, JL Audio is not the way to look. They are pretty expensive and will run up a big deal. Looking into used isnt to bad of an option, for you can get the three things you need: a box, an amp and a subwoofer. Look at MTX or Kicker. Before you by you need to know many things: what size box you need, how big of an amp you need, and wiring the sound system to the car. If you want all new sound parts, a used box is way cheaper and can save you easily $100 to spend on nicer equipment. You should probably go with a 15" sub, no less than 12" My friend had 2 12" Kickers and it had plenty of beat.
spl, Sound pressure level. it measures how much air your subs can push. i have a single DB drive 15" sub in an Eclipse powered by an Alphasonik 3000watt Class D amp. the sub is around $400 new and the amp is around $2,000 new. i hit 155db on Spl meter. if you are now looking to compete. i would recommend a single Kicker L7 sub with a rockford amp or an arc audio amp. for cheaper i bought two phoenix gold RYVAL 12's in a ported box, with a phoenix gold 1000 watt matching amp and the subs are about 100 each, the amp is 149, and box was around 100 so for $500 you could have full system and its loud as everything. it will make my hatch lift up.

My cd player for my car shows that the cd is playin but no sound is comin out?
[Question]
I've had this cd player workin before but I got a new car and I hooked it up to it and the radio works but the cd and aux don't work the cd shows that the song is playing and how long it is into the song but no sound is being produced anybody no why is it just a wire I hooked up wrong or left out? I have an 04 impala if that helps at all I no I got the right wire harness to
[All Answers]
try changing the speaker wires around
make sure none of the speakers wires are touching
If u put the radio on and sound came on that means that no problem with the speakers or the wiring. so the problem should be with the CD player it self
you might have the pos and neg wires backwards. also you might have to have a factory amp bypass wire. we do audio for a living and thats a problem if you have a factory amp in your car. which it should. its mounted under the back speaker deck in the trunk. there is a bypass wire you plug into radio antennae or harness
