Just bought my 16 year old a car and the face plate for the stereo is missing...where do i start?

I'm just a mom who knows NOTHING about this kind of stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just point me in the right direction.

Thanks a bunch! Oh...in case it matters.. It's a 1998 Honda Civic Coupe....but I don't think the radio was factory installed. It says Panasonic.

If you can figure out the model of the stereo, it's possible that you could buy a face plate for it on eBay. You are probably better off just getting a new stereo installed in it. It will be a lot less trouble to go through.

i would go buy a new radio from best buy. you could find one for under 50 dollars, and they will install it. or better yet, make him go buy it if he wants a radio.

Go to a stereo shop and ask them to use their pins to pull it out and get the model number off the top of it. Then call panasonic for a face. I had a Panasonic in a chevy 4x4 you couldn't get to skip on the worst roads in wyoming and it lasted till I sold the truck. Or save yourself the trouble and go to Circuit City, they're going out of business and I just got a 42 hdtv for $630 and they were selling stereos for $100 to $200 for stereos that are ipod compatible.

there should be a serial number on the top of the radio behind the dash take it to like best buy they can remove the whole radio for about 10 and you can look up the serial number on their website and purchase a new face plate or you could buy a whole new radio for about 50 bucks

all depends on what your looking for quality kicker and rockford run about the same then directed then mtx then dual then sundown price wise sundown but you can make a crapper amp work just as well as an expensive one you just got to know what to do

its rock,rap,with a little country type group.. called rehab, try songs like..

i like there songs for the bass and the lyrics.. try em out and see if they are what your looking for. remember though what you hear from headphones are different from your car speakers..

what i have now:

2 channel 1600 lanzar vibe amp, 2 12" kicker comp subs, factory mids and highs, subs have 150 rms each, ported turbo bass probox, 4 gauge power and ground wire, 10 farad boss capacitor, 3 way bx35 boss cross over, pioneer deh-p3000ib head unit, 1996 ford taurus (big trunk=lots of airspace). sounds AMAZING with all the stuff i have. makes my eyes rattle when i drive. cheap system, great quality. for subs, box, amp, crossover, capacitor, head unit, and wires = $550!



i ordered 2 12" kicker cvr subs and they are coming in tomorow. they have 400 rms each compared to the comps 150. also getting a hifonics brutus 1800 watt mono amp, 900 watt x 1 at 2 ohms (only $170),
