Kicker or Rockford Fosgate?
[Question]
Im trying to decide on what kinda system i should build. Should i get a kicker system or a rockford system?
[All Answers]
kicker subs rockford amps
kicker subs (but make sure you get the round ones. the square ones have awful sq) rockford amps (power series is the best)
They both suck......Try Crystal Subs...there made in California. Best sound quality subs I've heard in a long time.
Lunar Amps....will rock your world.
kicker subwoofers the kicker cvx's good.

Car speaker/audio systems?
[Question]
I have a 1995 volvo 850 sedan and most of my speakers are blown so i am going to replace them. i just bought 6x9 sony xplodes which are relatively cheap but have good reviews. best buy is installing them next week. i have four 5 inch speakers that are terrible in my car they cant handle loud volume at all and have no bass. i was looking at these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8698643&type=product&id=1199494465777 which are pioneers. there is a 25 watt rms? is that bad? do i need an amp? help please.
[All Answers]
you can compare the speakers you want to buy to the ones that you blew. If you want them to be louder than you want more rms wattage. But if you have more rms, your headunit might not be able to power them sufficiently. You will probably need to do some research on your headunit or ask someone at bestbuy to see how powerful it is. Then you can decide if you need an amp or not.
there fine, but speakers are really easy to install, you could do them yourself
but most stereos only put out around 5-10 rms
sony xplodes are not good speakers. my brother has had 4 of em an now only two are still good. but pioneers are good speakers, my bro regrets sellin em..but i say the best speakers EVER are powerbase 12s

Fi q power handling questions?
[Question]
ok first the amp i am using is a titanium power amp!!
550 (RMS) at 4ohm
1100 (RMS) at 2ohm
1700 (RMS) at 1ohm
now the subs i have now are 2 15"cvx kickers, and it's beating the hell out of them..
now i wan't 2 15"fi q's and they say they are 1000 watts rms a piece!! and the kicker's are the same...
so do the fi's hold up to what they say they will, or am i gonna have to get the bp option on the fi's?? and how much power will that gain??
[All Answers]
im pretty sure if those subs are rated to take 1000 watts rms dude they will take it look up steve meade he got 4 Fi BTL on 24000 watts and they hold up
they could take it. but if you got the extra money get the bp upgrade. it wont hurt thats for sure
Yes, the FIs will hold up to 1000w RMS and more. FIs subs are probably underrated if anything.
If you use that amp then you will not blow those subs (assumming you set the gain correctly).
Why do you want the Qs? If you are looking for loudness I would bet a good amount of money that the Kickers would be louder. They have a higher sensitivity rating then the Qs. The enclosure you put them in would ultimately determine how loud they will be but that if besides the point.
The Qs will give you better sound quality if that is what you are after.
I believe the BP power option adds 200-500w RMS to the power handling of the sub.
Good Luck!!!

what is the Frequency response level?
[Question]
im looking at 2 subs right now and ones frequency response level is 18-500hz and the others is 18-2000hz what does this mean exacly? which is better and by how much?
[All Answers]
frequency is what tone your speakers will move to. The higher frequency doesn't really matter for subwoofers because you will have tweeters and mids for those. when buying subs you shouldn't really be looking at those but at rms wattage. The higher the wattage, the louder it will be.
If you are looking at sub specs then the meaning of that is basically, what range of frequencies your sub will give you usuable bass. So the first sub will give you bass from 18Hz to 500Hz. The second sub will work from 18-2000Hz.
Just because the second sub has a bigger frequency range it doesn't mean that it is better. You should have your sub(s) filtered out at around 100Hz or so. You would use a low pass filter set on your deck or amp to do this. Basically, you only want the sub playing low frequencies.
I would not really use that stat much unless you see a sub that has a range starting higher, like around 40-50Hz. That means the sub will likely hit the low end frequencies well. Other then that you should buy a sub based on other specs.
Good Luck!!!
