Most powerful subwoofer under 1000 dollars.?
[Question]
I need help finding the most powerful subwoofer under 1000 dollars. I found an earthquake sub for 1700 called the earthquake HoLeeS-15" online and i think this is more powerful than the mtx jackhammer but a little out of price range. http://www.lightav.com/car/earth/subs.html
But what can I get that is very powerful like over 3000 watts rms for under 1000 dollars and that I can perform well in competition with? I currently have 2 pw3's hooked up to an audiobahn amp running my subs at 900 rms each. Should I just keep adding more subs and amps, or get one or two very powerful subs? Any ideas?

Check out the Brazilian Made Selinium Subs
AWESOME
Look into Memphis Subs. They sell competition subs and I hear they are a leading brand.
Also the Kicker L7, you could get like 2 or 3 of them for under 1000.
Check out the JL W7 series.
RD Audio makes some great subwoofers
http://www.rdaudio.net/heavyweight/heavyweight.htm
Read about that sub. :-)
3-4k watts RMS easy.
The Heavyweight is a MONSTER plain and simple. If you want a subwoofer to handle thousands of watts in a daily application, and to be heard from a mile away look no further. Built to order they can be designed for SQL applications, or more on the SPL side to handle over 25,000 watts for short bursts.
dude i would have to a say 1 or possibly 2 18" FI BTL those suckers hit hard dude or go with some RE thos are pretty good also u also have a choice to with some kicker L7 or the kicker solo-x also u could look into the MTX thinderseries 9500
The RD heavyweight sub was a good sugg. SJA (Atomic loudspeakers) manufactures those drivers and they are nice
For that power range I would also recommend
DD 9500 series
Incriminator audio DP series
DC sound lab level 5
Cascade Omega series
Fi BTL series
RE MT series
The Heavyweight is the king in USACi competition right now. Those subs are in the loudest stock vehicle in the world right now. Guys have put 7K on them daily without issues.
You want a little more information on the sub, email me...

jeep wrangler subwoofer box?
[Question]
i have 2 - 12 in subs in a box right now that will not fit behind my back seat in my jeep does anyone know where and how much where i can find just a new box for the subs i have everything just need a new box ?

?
the speaker needs so much room to sound right
You can have a look here,although a set of 12'' won't fit,their made for 10''.
But maybe you can sell your current box and subs and get a set 10'' to go in the box.

Or you could go to a local car audio shop and see if you can have one custom made to fit.
You don't have a whole lot of choices for these jeeps.
You can find a good selection of prefab enclosures here.

Just find one that will fit and you're set.

my sub woofer doesn't work?
[Question]
i bought a sub woofer from my cousin. he showed me it worked. i connected it myself. i made sure all wires were connected correctly. i have checked and not even the power light comes on when i turn on the engine. any suggestions??
yes the amplifier is connected to the sub woofer. i have put the red wire to the live battery terminal. the black wire is connected to the metal under the carpet in the boot. the input (red and black) is connected to the back of the head unit. REM wire is connected to Sub Out in the back of head unit. although i am at a loss because the input wire has a small red attachment and i have no idea where this goes there are no holes or anywhere to connect to.
[All Answers]
Sounds like you either didnt connect something correctly, or you didnt run the REM wire from the deck "the wire that tells the amplifier to turn on"
Did you hook it up to an amp? Maybe if you connected it straight to your head unit, the head unit isn't powerful enough to drive it?
alright well first do u have an amplifier? did u connect straight into the head unit? 2nd did u connect the REM wire that turns the amplifier on? 3rd check if u have blown any fuses check the fuses of your stereo and amp. 4th is your battery cable going from your battery to your amp correctly installed? 5th maybe your amp is just blown or theres a short circuit some where happening

Sub enclosure help 10 points?
[Question]
hey A friend of mine is looking for a shop project and decided to build a sub enclosure. Ive been helping him with ideas and what we would like to do is put dual 12's with a 2400 watt in somewhere in or on it with possibly a plexiglass cover so we can put neon or leds under the plexi any ideas or plans would be great.
[All Answers]
look at a banpass box and go from there and if you want lights do what you want as long as you like it thats all that matters
Well, bandpass would probably look the best, and likely be the loudest, but it will only hit certain ranges. you could probably make a thick ported box made out of plexy (likely to be expensive though) bandpass would be the cheapest prolly best looking box you can get. but what you get is a loss of sq.
I just want to say that even though amp's will work mounted on a sub box, it is proven to shorten the life span of the amp. The vibration is bad on the circuit board.
If you want it to sound good you need to build it to the sub's specs. You should also think of the type of bass your looking for. Vented has a different sound than a sealed.
Check out this link. There is tons of info.http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp
The forums also have pic's of others projects to help with ideas.

remove audio system from one car and install into another?
[Question]
My mother is looking to sell her car which has a really nice sound system in it. I'd like to uninstall it b/f she gets rid of it and put it in my car. Only thing is I don't want to do it myself b/c I have no idea how to do it. Where could I go to get this job professionally done??? Thanks
[All Answers]
just do it yourself..
all you gotta do is disconnect the wires
just follow them and disonnect..
Yes, you can exchange it, even yourself. A nice sound system consist of a nice after market Stereo, subs amps and aftermarket inside sound speakers. What would be logical is to sell the car with at least the speakers and a factory radio. So everything you can take and put it in another car. All you need is a installation kit and someone at best-buy..ect can do that for you.
Best Buy will do it. Or you can go to any audio shop that is local and they'll uninstall the speakers head unit and etc. for you. I'm not sure about the cost, but it shouldn't be too bad for uninstalling.
