Which setup is louder?
[Question]
Which set-up would be louder,
1 13w7 receiving 1500watts
OR
2 13w7s receiving 750watts a piece
[All Answers]
2 13w7 receiving 750
i would go with the 1 13w7 because the more watts it gets, the louder it bumps.
well i would go with two but than again one would be louder space wise would be an issue what is it going in also how many rms watts is going to spkr from amp
2 13w7s recieving 750 a piece.
you're still using 1500 watts so the power is constant, but 2 subwoofers will be louder then one. If you are using an optimized box.
If you have 1 subwoofer in a large box, and 2 subwoofers in a box that isn't large enough for both of them then the 1 woofer could be louder.
for example say the optimum airspace is 4ft^2
well if you only have 5ft^2 of space, then it might be louder to get one woofer in a 4ft^2 box rather then 2 woofers getting 2.5ft^2 each in the box.
The Box is very important in bass reproduction. and many people fail to realize it. why spend hundreds of dollars on a good woofer and put it in a p.o.s prefab box?
The 2 13w7 would be most definitely louder, I don't know what the people saying 1 13 would be louder. Even if your only running half the watts to each sub, you still have 26 inches of power. Think of it like that, and your giving the w7 too much power at 1500 watts. I think that's its peak, you should be giving it the RMS amount.
I would not use either set up since the W7 costs just way to much, not worth the money that you spend for it, which is absurd.
Why not go with 2 Orion HCCA subs, which can also handle more power than the W7. I am giving my single HCCA 3200 watts rms, would love to see a W7 be able to take that much power and not die. For those that think it can, try googleing the Orion sub challenge. You will see that it can not take that much power for more that a minute at the most. Also the HCCA gets just as loud as the W7 does if not louder. Just need to have the proper box made for it. Right now I have my HCCA in a box made for a 13W7 and the box is being ripped apart by the sub, the box design is not near good enough nor strong enough. Not to mention the RE Audio XXX and MX lines just totally destroy the W7, the W7 can not even come close to what the XXX or the MX line can do. JL is way over rated.

I Need My Bass In My 02 Civic Sedan To Be Felt Outside Of The Car?
[Question]
Here's my set up: One Rockford Fosgate T10001bd, One Alpine Type R 12inch Subwoofer, In a regular sealed inclosure.
The bass is great inside the car. But I can't feel it or hear it outside the car. I need a solution for this, or some tips to achieving bass that can be heard a mile away!
[All Answers]
Good luck on being heard a mile away. But if you want bass that can be felt, you need to get a bigger and better amp, a pair of competition subs (RE Audio XXX or MX model lines, FI Audio, Orion HCCA, MMATS, Digital Designs, etc....) since the Type R is not going to cut it. One major tip is save your money, do it right the first time so that you do not have to do it again.
You need or you want? their is no need for all of us to hear your bass coming a mile down the road. do us all a favor and make it so your bass can only be heard when your windows are down. that way when you go by a church you can just roll them up.
If your noise can be heard more than 50 feet from the vehicle you can be sited in Ca. I don't know the cost of the cite but I know that some local pd's issue them. Keep the noise down.
It's best from a piece of mind loving view if you just get rid of the bass speakers all together. That stuff isn't making you any more intelligent, and above all it disturbs the peace. Try and be more considerate.
all you need to do is get another type R and put them in a ported box

I am not a big fan of Farenheit products.
Check out the Tview - DVD70TS
Just got it from JobberSite for about $215.00

Just to let you know, Farenheit stereos can be bought at Walmart. For car stereos you need to be looking at 3 manufacturers Alpine, Pioneer, and Kenwood. Sony gives poor sound reproduction at best, Farenheit is going to give you an much poorer sound reproduction. Do it right the first time so that you do not have to do it again.

What subwoofer should I get MTX Thunder or Alpine R?
[Question]
[All Answers]
Alpine Type R, best bang for your buck. In my opinion it is one of the best on the market, I had 2 12" in my jeep and it was amazing, excellent clarity and unrivaled power. MTX is okay if you don't have the money for the Alpine but otherwise go Alpine, you won't regret it.
Alpines Type R is an overall better subwoofer.

Should I get another subwoofer?
[Question]
So right now in my car I've got a 500w Alpine Type R sub, and I upgraded my 4 factory speakers to Alpine Type S Coaxial with 80-90w each. I love my speakers, they are super loud and clean, but it seems that one sub can't keep up with them. It would cost about 120$ to get a second Type R( I can get a free 500w amp from my buddy). So, should I?
Well it's not the amp because the amp is the alpine mrp-m500, which is practically made for their 10" Type R woofer. It is in a sealed box, I know ported is louder, and If I get a second woofer I'll put them both in a ported box.
[All Answers]
No get a rockford fosgate p3 subwoffer so you can blow heads off lol
you can if you want to. but there are several variables that go into how loud your bass is such as:
what kind of box you have
how large the box is
what the box is tuned to and how big is the port (if its ported)
what kind of amp you have
If your one subwoofer can't "keep up" with your new speakers, then your amp is probably lacking. because a subwoofer is specifically made to reproduce bass and to do it well. if you can't hear the woofer, then you might need a more powerful amp.
It depends on if you want to buy a higher watt amp, or keep the 500 watt amp and get better subwoofers. I would just get a higher watt amp and then get those 2 subwoofers and put both of them in a ported box. thats my opinion.
