Can pretty much any alternator be installed in any vehicle?
[Question]
I have a 1994 Ford Ranger and I want to put a higher output alternator in it. When I search shopping results most alternators seem to be for a specific make or model of vehicle. But if I makeshift the brackets; I can't see where any alternator would be incompatible in any way.
[All Answers]
in theroy yes any alternator can be installed the thing to think about though is the wireing as not all alternators use the same harness the thing to do if you want to get a higher output alternator get the harness for that alternator as and the diagram for both the new and the old one so you can splice and match the alternator you can also install more then on alternator so if you wanna keep the one you have and install another one you need to make a new bracket and run a longer belt but i have done this as well used two alternators and spliced them into one line to run a big ass system and it might be a little easier but remember on this there is gonna be more drag on the engine as there is a longer belt and one more pully to turn
Stick to what is there, Your vehicle can only withstand 13.6 VDC at a specific number of amps. If you upgrade your altenator you could fry the electronic components such as the Electric Computer Module, this in its self would be a costly repair. I have seen stuff like this done so I am speaking with expieriance here.
I also have a ranger. Ford is pretty simple. Pretty much, if it will fit on a 3.0 or 4.0 v6, in any vehicle, it will fit in a ranger. Same would apply for the 4 cylinder models.
If you email me the specifics of your truck, I'd be happy to find one that will work for you.
You could use any alternator that you choose, you would just have to wire the harness to the new alternator. Keep your current stock alternator around, because your going to need the case for it so that you can bolt it right up to the engine with out any problems at all.

which subwoofers are better? kicker or sony xplod?
[Question]
I ordered 2 kicker comp 12" that are 300watt each sub
but now i am reading 2 sony xplod subwoofers 1000 watts each sub for a little more. Did i make the wrong choice? Do you think you can hear these from down the street a little bit? Also will the kickers vibrate my car? i got a HIFONICS TXi4008 amp.
So my question is, which subs are better, and are these ones good
[All Answers]
you're an idiot, honestly.
i would have went with kicker better quality
Well sony Xplod aren't that great speakers, the newer ones are better but it really depends on how you install them.
It really doesn't depend on the wattage, you can buy cheaper ones, just make sure you get thick enough power cable, thick sound wire, good grounding, good amp and build it in a good box.
sony xplod is the sh1ttiest speaker known to man. Should have bought kicker

Why won't the lights inside my car turn off?
[Question]
I have a '96 (ish) Ford Taurus with a relatively newer battery. I turned the car on a couple days ago and the lights inside would not turn off. Obviously, I walked around and shut every door, and the trunk, but the lights just won't turn off. I have to jump my car every day and I don't know whats up, any ideas?
[All Answers]
well either switch in one of the doors not working or broken or switch on dash bad
Sounds like you have an electrical short It's best to have this checked by a mechanic.
Did you check your dimmer switch to make sure it is not in the "on position" That is the most likely source of your problem. This is the switch that allows you to control how bright your dash is when you have your headlamps on
ok, there is either a switch on the light on the celing of your car with 3 settings ( off-on-on upon door open) make sure it is set to on upon door opening, mind you it wont be labeled. there may also be a switch on the dash to the right or the left of the steering wheel. it controlls the brightness of the dash lights, if you turn this switch all the way up it turns the interrior lights on and they will stay on untill you shut the switch off.

Musical juke box got fried by the sun?
[Question]
I've had this juke box for like 3 years. and i was dumb and left it in my window during the summer and some of the buttons don't work. It has like 30 different buttons and sounds but only like 4 works.
So someone told me i could re solder it. Like re solder the circuit bored inside of it. Can i do dat?? Or wat can i do??
[All Answers]
you can do dis or you could do dat
open trash can drop it into it go buy another one its melted its burned its trash
look for an old time appliance repair shop
it would probably be cheaper to find a new one but it might be possible to repair it.

could i put a 10" square kicker sub in a 10" circle box?
[Question]
would a 10in SQUARE kicker subwoofer fit in my 10in CIRCLE box???
[All Answers]
lol you must have been one of those kids trying to put a square peg in a round hole
it won't fit right off but will after you slightly modify it, you'll have to cut it out to turn it into a square hole, will be the same width and height just cutting it into a square
It depends on the dimensions of the hole. The square Kickers have different dimensions than regular round speakers. Most round subs are measured on the outside edge. An 8 is 8" from edge to edge and a 10 is 10" from edge to edge. I just measured my Kickers l5 8s and they are 7.5 inches on the surround and 9.5 inches on the outside edge.
lol r u serious just buy a kicker box
