How can I hear my iPhone through my car speakers?

I want to be able to hear the iPod feature on my iPhone through my stereo, as well as Pandora and my KLove apps. I don't have an AUX mode, or an audio port. Any ideas? Something to plug in through lighter? I have an 05 BMW 530i. If you need that.

ok well, its pretty simple :)



there are different types of things called, "iRoad Trips" or "iTrips" look for one that is for your iphone, and it plugs through your smoke lighter or w.e it is and you pick a station that has no service to match with your radio and it will go through your speaker. and if you goto pandora app then you can listen to what ever is on your iphone through there. your welcome:)

if you have a tape deck you can get a special tape that connects to your ipod... they are sold at most Electronic stores for about $10 -20



if not, you can get an fm transmitter. it plugs into your cig lighter. if you get one made specifically for the ipod, it will charge your ipod as you use it. Good brands include DLO and MONSTER. dont go cheap. you get what you pay for with these. ~$70



oh...and apple makes a little fm transmitter (itrip) that only plugs into the ipod. it doesn't charge it. and i have no experience with the quality of sound from them.

If you have bluetooth in your car, then you can directly play music through that. Just make sure that you have the bluetooth on for your phone. Or If you go to Best Buy or somewhere, they usually have a device that can be connected either through the cd player or through a lighter port that plays ipod music.

Well there is something that you hook up to your phone that I have seen on infomercials, its a device you plug into your phone where headphones would go, it comes with a clip that hooks onto your dashboard that holds it, it links your phone speaker to the stereo to talk to people via phone, I don't know if it works with music players but you could give it a try, I'm not sure what it's called but you could look for it on google.

get an FM transmitter. you plug it into where the cig lighter goes and the other end goes into the iphone where your headphones would go. You set the station the turn your car radio to the same station. So when you are playing pandora it will go through your speakers and when your phone rings, pandora will pause and you can hear the ring through your speakers. I do this with my blackberry and my roommate does it with her iphone.

Do not get an FM Transmitter. The quality is terrible. What you need is an FM Modulator. Its basically an FM Transmitter, but it transmits to your radio through a wired connection, resulting in no interference. This one works with any car, any model, any year, anything. If you can listen to the radio, you can now listen to any audio device with a headphone jack. Heres the link

sounds like a short in the dash console itself! I changed my own out, not a Z-28 mind you, but a Camaro, from one I found in a junk yard, works fine now to four years! It is a GM problem of the 90s cars, at least that's what my brother in law says and he owns a repair garage and is ASC certified!

scenario. no light function in the dash except for the check engine and Emergency brake.



answer. the dash board package should have multiple light bulbs. it is possible that something shorted and blew all these bulbs at once because they are all on the same wire. Or you could have a short or break in the wire that sends power to or from the instrument cluster. OR you could have a break in the grounding wire or attachment this one is highly unlikely. you have checked the fuse and it looks good. Get yourself an auto circuit tester from wall-mart it;s like 5 bucks. check to see if you have power coming to the fuse. then check to see if you have power coming out of the fuse last check to see if you have power at the clip where it connects to the instrument cluster.



if this all checks clean then it is a grounding problem those suck.



Scenario two. if your telling us that the lights are all out and the check engine light comes on and stays on. then you have a big short someplace that is screwing upi your cars computer. get it looked at by a pro fast.

you can get a ticket if it can be heard from a certain distance away, no matter what type of music it is. that distance depends on your state though. Look up the noise regulation laws in your state to find out what they are and possibly how much they will charge you if you're pulled over for it.

No, you can run a 200 watt amp if you wanted, its just not recommended because those speakers are freakin amazing and I wish I had them.



You definitely want to put at least 1000 watts in those bad boys or you wont enjoy them as much

No you don't have to run a amp that puts out as much power as the speaker can handle but you still have to be careful because under powering a sub can cause as much damage as over powering a sub. If you push a amp past it's potential it will cause "clipping". Clipping occurs when an amplifier is asked to deliver more current to a speaker than the amp is capable of doing. When an amplifier clips, it literally cuts off the tops and bottoms of the musical waveforms that it's trying to reproduce, thus the term. This introduces a huge amount of distortion into the output signal. Clipping can be heard as a crunching sound on musical peaks. Clipping will destroy your speaker and more speakers are blown from clipping than over powering.

a 1000 watt amp is not needed but would b recomended if you want the full potential out of your sub. find out how many wats your stereo puts out and then buy an amp that will fill in the remaining watts. for example....... if your stero puts out 200 watts and the max output on the sub is 500 watts then you need a 300 watt amp.

Ebay, overstock.com and amazon.com are the only places I can think of that have GPS systems under $100 but most of them are at least $75 so you might just want to check ads in your area for retail stores. I got a garmin Nuvi 200 on sale at Best Buy for exactly $100. Retail stores almost never have GPSs under $100. $89-99 is the lowest I have seen. I love my garmin Nuvi 200, it's worth every penny.
