crimping question, do the wires cross over each other?
[Question]
When using crimps and a crimper to connect two wires, is it best to keep a wire on each side of the crimp or let them overlap inside the crimp before crimping? Thanks!
[All Answers]
Overlapping is good but not necessary
Youll have yer best luck overlapping so they dont ever come apart..maybe even twist them together.
It's always better to have the wires in contact, if possible. Some solderless "barrel" connectors don't allow the two wires to contact directly. When it's practical, I use crimp caps instead of barrel connectors. A crimp cap looks something like a wire nut, but it's designed to be crimped instead of just threaded on the wire. It allows you to twist the wires together and crimp the cap on to secure and insulate them, so it's a more reliable connection than a barrel crimp.

overlaping is your best bet it keeps good contact and also helps prevent the wire from slipn out

yes as long as you remove the subwoofer properly and check to make sure it is compatible with the other car
yes. if you cant do it yourself get a professional.
Yes, but you may need to purchase new power wiring for the installation into the next vehicle.

Your Car Has an Odd Size speaker in the doors, you would have to ask Cadillac what to buy exactly. Crutchfeild suggests a 5 1/4 inch speaker, but you would probably need an adapter.

Can someone help me with subs?
[Question]
I'm wanting 2 12" Alpine subs (1500 watts each) I don't care if they're used but they have to be in good condition. Any one know where I can find some. (I've looked on Ebay). Also a 3000 watt amp to support them?
I don't know anything about this stuff so if you guys could help me out on what size amp i should get that would be great
[All Answers]
check sonicelectronix.com
they usually have some really good prices on what they sell
Well first..check out craigslist.com. depending on where you live they should have some of those subs somewhere. And 2nd..dont get a 3000 watt amp. you dont need that much because the 1500 watts is the peak wattage of the sub. That spec doesnt matter. what you want to look at is the RMS wattage. im guessing if yer looking at the type R alpines.. there 500 RMS. so get an amp that is around 750-1000 RMS. you should have a good setup with that.. good luck!!!!
Try ubid.com They have a lot of great deals on car audio equip.

Getting a 6 CD Changer?
[Question]
Ok I am getting a 6 CD Changer and will be putting it in my car. My question is is if I can put it in the space were my arm rest is, like I can lift it up and I have a little compartment in there or do I have to put it in my trunk?
[All Answers]
Getting a 6 disc CD changer in your car is very 1999.
What you should do is spend the money on the cd changer into an upgraded head unit that has Auxiliary (mp3) capability.
Then, you buy an I-pod or a MP3 player, rip all of your cd's to your computer and transfer them to you Ipod/mp3 player.
You now have thousands of songs at the touch of a button and no longer have to carry around bulky cd, cases and holders.
i would just get different stereo with an aux input and plug an ipod or mp3 into it so it is easier and you dont have cds all over the place.
you can put it anywhere you want it. Just know that where it is at you'll have to run wires to it. so If you can't easily hide those wires, then the trunk might be the best place.
