How come my subs have a static noise in them?
[Question]
I have 2 10" subs and a 350 watt kenwood amp and a pyle stereo.
I called a local audio shop and they said it was because the stereo was a pyle. obliviously they want me to buy one of theirs.
The static noise is always there even when the key is in the battery mode or when the truck is on. Could it be low quality RCA cables?
I have a good ground i drilled into the frame and gridded off any paint.
I tested taking out the RCA cables and the static, hum goes away when the RCA cables are disconnected.
If anyone could please give me a straight answer it would be appreciated greatly.
Thank you.
p.s. Some troubleshooting methods would be great too thanks!

Either the coil broke or it has a bad ground
It sounds like a bad ground. How long is your ground cable, should be no longer than 48 inches.
Well first, your amp should be higher to run 2 10', but that's beside the point. Alot of times that happens because it's trying to force power into the sub, but it has no ground to do so. Check your ground wire.
sounds like a bad ground some where, but the bad ground may be in your head unit too who knows?

Why is My Subwoofer smoking??!!?
[Question]
I have a 1000 watt Quantum amp hooked up to a single 15" Quantum Cosmik Series Sub with a ported box..... Need Some Help
[All Answers]
It's broken.
Smoking is an addicting habit. All you can really do is talk with your sub about ways to kick the habits. I am sure he is well aware of the risks involved. The key is that .... quitting is only an option if he is ready to quit.
Let him know his smoking is affecting his job performance and you are worried about him.
Quit the smoking and get back to the boomboombooming ......
Good Luck.

Do aftermarket car radios fit any car?
[Question]
Hi, i was wondering if those car radios from JBHIFI and those kinda shops fit any cars, i got a 87' holden camira and was wondering if it would just slide in or wotveva, or do u need like to get a specific kind of radio, i dunno what im on about, so yer, help would be lovely!
[All Answers]
If you aren't completely sure what you are doing, it would be a good idea to get the installers at JBHiFi to fit it for you. For the most part, they will fit, but it may require a new fascia. It would be best to talk to someone at a car audio store before buying one to make sure they can make it fit.
Hope this helps!
You really need to visit a car audio system store and tell them what you need. This is to ensure that you won't have conflict between your car and your audio system measurement.
Basically there are 4 types of radios; the old shaft kind that comes on older cars and is held in place by the shafts this was used before CD players became available; then there is single din, this is the most common used today; then there is double din twice as high as single din but the same width; and there is also another kind that you find of less and less cars now called din and 1/2 which is like it says 1.5 times as high as a single din unit but same width...what differers from unit to unit and from car to car is the depth of your dash, you can get most any unit to fit but if its too deep in will stick out from the dash...

about amps that only produces 20Hz - 200Hz?
[Question]
where can i find a 100w or lower power amp that only produces 20 Hz - 200 Hz of frequency?
[All Answers]
Pretty much anywhere. Most amps these days have filters built in so that you can cut out all the frequencies above 200Hz.
I would try your local car audio dealer, or a respected online store. . .
best buy
most quality amps have filters that limit the frequency responce to 20 20 or there about; and really good ones will let you vary the filter settings.
