I need help with subwoofer enclosure size?
[Question]
If i have 2 type R 15's, and i put them in a smaller box would it still get loud? And with it being in a smaller box that would make it have much better sound quality correct? It will be a ported box as well
[All Answers]
yea it will get loud. duh . just get a good amp. it wont play to its full ability but still it will hit, worst thing it will break the boxl.ol
It will have a better thump, but loss in deep bass, some of this depends on how you tune it... I suggest calling Alpine and asking them what the proper cubic feet and port size is needed for your 15's. That is the best way to choose your box. "worst thing it will break the box" is an ignorant statement, you will blow your subs is what you will do... Also may I reference you to http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=AsjR6XxSW4LMu7XPNPPL4txOxgt.;_ylv=3?show=i1ayj8enaa if you're interested in building your own, he will give you the schematic for everything.
being in a smaller box won't increase sound quality. especially for a ported box. If it was a small sealed box, then it would be more accurate, but being in a small ported box it would still be louder then a sealed box, but the deep bass will be lacking. But it will still get loud.
If you want some help with a design. Or, if you just want a few output comparisons, feel free to let me know.
Sorry to say...if its a ported box yer talking about..then no the sound will not sound as good..i know this for sure..because when you have subs that are 15"s and you want them in a ported box..the box needs to be bigger if anything..not small. The sound may stay the same or even get louder..but if i had to guess...the sound will stay the same or get quieter...and youll have tighter bass..since its a small ported box..

how do I make a variable voltage regulator for a 12v system?
[Question]
[All Answers]
I believe what you are trying to do is power an AC component on a DC system?
Buy a variable capacitor.
I believe you need a rheostat, that way you cam dial in whatever you want, 12 and down!

i have 7.1 speakers on my pc but it thinks my sub is a speaker and one of the speakers is a sub ?? any help?
[Question]
speakers problem plz help
[All Answers]
Don't invest in surround for your computer man. It's a waste.
do you have the subwoofer and speaker wired to the right places? Have you tried switching them around?
look into the software application that you installed for your speaker package, it let's you configure your system with a sub, my creative 5.1 did this like 4 years ago, you can swap channels like center and sub and like that

what would sound better with a rockford p300.1 amp?
[Question]
either 2 12 inch kicker comps (yellow and black) or two 10 inch kicker cvrs (silver)? both in ported boxes
[All Answers]
The 10 inch cvrs because thats a smaller amp so the smaller subs will sound better with it....good luck!!!
well subs that are a least 150rms since you have a small amp
I think the comps would be better. The CVR's would like to see a bigger amp than the p300.1---- the comps are lower power handling.
Mitchell, you are wrong, They are smaller, but are a higher sub in kickers lineup, the 12's would be much better--- more cone area.
Would be a waste to run the CVR's without a more powerful amp.

anyone know about car stereos???????
[Question]
hi i have a panasonic CQ-1300AN its been working fine untill i went to turn it on today and it powers up says "welcome" ( as normal) then all it says is "MUTING 0" and theres nothing playing none of the buttons will work apart from eject ans to change from cd to radio! ive checkked the fused and there all ok,
any ideas will be greatly appreciated
thanks
[All Answers]
Try hitting the mute button to turn off MUTE if that doesn't work then I would say your head unit is bad. Well it might just be the cable got pinched if it is a detachable face, but to replace that will cost the same as a new head unit.
Yes try finding the mute button..it could be as simple as that...or maybe you have something locked up...could be lots of things...if you have the money...id suggest just getting a new radio....go with pioneer or kenwood...may be a little spendy but you wont have as much problems with those as you would with say yer radio now.....hope this helps!
if tring the mute button dont work unplug the negaive from battery it will rest set the radio try that
