I am considering buying a GPS for my car. What brand is the best?
[Question]
I would like to have one that works in the car and in pedestrian mode, if possible. I have about $150-200 to spend. I have seen several at Walmart ranging from $119 (tom tom) to $200 (magellan). Are these good brands? I don't really know that much about them. I live in Oklahoma and we travel through the state often. I really would just like it for recreational purposes (gas stations, closest restaraunts, etc.) Any information would be great, as I am a bit lost here.

Garmin
Personally, I like TomTom and Magellan. They are very easy to work with and both allow free map and software updates.
I prefer Garmin.
My Garmin Streetpilot has been a boon to my travelling between the SanFrancisco Bay area to Colorado, Southern California and up to Washington State, plus to unfamiliar nearby towns. I got one free map upgrade. Succeding upgrades are expensive. The technical support from Garmin is excellent onliine and by telephone. I've seen the Nuvi, which will fit in your pocket, but when I was shopping, the StreetPilot was the most economically priced. Garmins calculate quickly and, if you turn off course, the recalculate quickly so you don't waste a lot of time getting further lost.
The mention of another lister that Magellan and TomTom give free upgrades shifts the bias toward them, but the Magellan doesn't perform as quickly as the Garmin. They're all easy to use. I would say take your pick between the Garmin Nuvi or the TomTom, but if there are unlimited map upgrades with the TomTom, it may be a better deal. Check that to make sure.
I have a Magellan that I like. It shows gas stations, restaraunts, ATM etc

What can i buy to use my ipod in the car?
[Question]
I have a cd player in the car but i'd rather plug my ipod in to listen to my music, i also have a cigarette lighter space but i don't know what type of cable i would need
Thankyou
[All Answers]
does your cd player have an aux. on it?
if so you can just hook it up to that
You can buy an Ipod docking systemm for your car. Find some good deals here:
http://www.dealondeals.com/consumer-electronics-deals.asp
Check if your CD deck has an Aux output. If it does go to any resonable electronics store and they will install a cord for you that plugs into your IPOD. Mine costed less than $10 total.
well, i got a thing at radio shack (before i installed my own head unit) that you plug into the cigarette lighter socket, and it will transmit radio waves over a short distance for your car radio to pick up and play from your ipod, only an ipod will work on it though.

Will a bazooka BTA10250D fit in a 06 gmc crew cab?
[Question]
If so either under the back seat or behind it?
Thanks
[All Answers]
in the back
in the trunk would be good
the back
Sure will, and besides, if it doesn't, you could always mount the bazooka on a 4x8 utility trailer and drive around town telling people you just got back from deer camp.

tell me eveything i need to know about car radios: good brands , what features , how to install, ect. or a site?
[Question]
my dad wants me to research on buying a new radio b4 i actually get one so i dont get ripped off so if you guy could help by saying a few things it would b greatly apprieciated
[All Answers]
i could tell you good brand, kenwood, go to bestbuy.com
Words cannot suffice. You'll have to do primary research- that is, go to see the equipment and study the specs on each and get the professional's recommendations for your particular vehicle. One size does not fit all. Field study at your local stereo shops. That can be fun.
The best brand there is JL audio, www.JLaudio.com can help you with installing products and buying, but if you live in Australia like me go to JB HI and ask for a order on products, JL sadly don't make CD players so i would say a alpine CD player.
Go to Crutchfield.com they have a learning section has good info. As far as brands I like Kenwood for headunits, Kicker ( amps& subs), Polk speakers, Alpine , Eclipse, MTX, Rockford Fosgate there are many more quality brands that I'm forgetting about.
