does anybody really hate it when a car with loud music is outside waiting?
[Question]
right now theres someone sitting in a car in my street, and they have annoying dance music blasting from it, but all i can really hear is the bass, and its extremely annoying. especially when they sit there for absolutly ages. do any of you sit in cars on peoples streets with your music really loud? and if you do, do you ever think about if your annoying people or not?
just to let u know, ive been in cars and done the same. but i just realised how annoying it actually is for other people.
its fair enough when they sit there for a couple of minutes, but im talkin about half an hour of it. i wouldnt mind so much if they listened to decent music, but its always shitty dance music, clubland crap that all sounds the same. practically just "thump thump thump thump thump"constantly!
my problem isnt with the loud music, like i said its the type of music when its loud. im 22 and i listen to metal, i usually have it loud, but never on the streets or outside. its like those little chav girls u always find sitting at the back of a bus with music playing on their fones. people dont want to hear it, have a little respect.

i despise it. i live in a really quiet neighborhood, so when someone comes driving down the street making all that noise, it drives me crazy.
Yes, it is very annoying, and inconsiderate of the operator. I will ask the driver to turn it down to a reasonable level twice, the third time the police ask them. A citation can be issued for loud music in many areas.
Slash their tyres, put a banana up their exhaust pipe, or something. How dare they pollute your precious silence for a few minutes!
Yeah! it really sucks. Some one should infringe on their rights the same way they infringe on others'. ...like drive by and toss a grenade in their window. And you are right that deep bass sub-woofer sh*t is so aggravating it makes me want to saw off a shotgun and become extremely violent until it stops. And to think that ordinarily I am a very peaceful person. Who ever said music soothes the savage beast never heard the As*holes that are riding the streets nowadays
We have this stupid girl who lives up the road doing exactly the same. When her bf arrives his music is just as loud so the two of them going at the same time is a nightmare. Still, I have the pleasure of thinking of them having tinnitus when they get older due to damage caused by loud noise. Then they will be sorry.
oh, lord you may have to listen to it for a few minutes, poor you.
If it bothers you that much, ask them to turn it down...
We're not all thugs that carry guns and crap.
Just ask...
They make me laugh. They think they look so cool and, actually, they look so stupid!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but, honestly, you can't do much. It's legal to have loud music, legal to blast subwoofers. What do you enjoy? Fishing? Tennis? Tea parties with Queen Elizabeth? Well, the person in the car enjoys his loud music. Where else can he play it, anyways? Eventually, it will end. But if the song is something like Whatever You Like by T.I., then I am truly sorry.....that song pumps.
But, really, it depends on your age. The ages of 13-32ish enjoy loud music. Lol, you should blast some Count Basie or Beethoven and see how they like it haha.

changing door speakers?
[Question]
i want to change my front door speakers in my polo 6n2
the factory ones distort/ dont sound good when i play songs even a bit loud or a song with bass.
just wondering if i would notice an improvement by changing them?(obviously not as much as adding a sub and/or 6x9')
also would i need to ad an amp or would it be ok without ( i no amping them would improve sound quality but im on a budget)
would something like this fit the bill?
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_264397_langId_-1_categoryId_165707#dtab
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_264397_langId_-1_categoryId_165707
the only thing is, i dont have any back speakers in my 6n2 (however my freinds does) i only have speakers in the front doors and tweeters near the front windows... so instead of running wires through the doors to the back for 6x9's i just wanted to buy them and fir the door ones myself??
[All Answers]
should sound better with new speakers but would be best to get an amp as well as this will improve sound quality a lot
Even if you have to make some modifications, a 6x9 would be your best bet. Also for the 6x9 you do not HAVE to get an amplifier but the other speakers in the car (the back ones) as well as the 6x9's will not get as much power so they will not be as loud as they can.
your best bet and at a good price , get the speakers that fit the door even if there 5.1/2's just get nice ones like alpine type x then get a sub woofer and amp for the bass this will sound best and you'll be glad you saved the money on getting an amp for door speakers , to add bass when door speakers are not made for bass at all infact good one come with bass blockers , 1 jl12w1v2 & a 300watt rms amp from hifonics will be a good upgrade . and all together the amp , sub and door speakers will cost about 400$ thats less than the price of just my sub , and it will sound great .
If you play your speakers loud then you really need an amp the distortion is not coming from the speakers but rather because your amp is running out of power to play them.

What are the best sub?
[Question]
What are the best sub. Becuase there are many brands, such as jl audio, kickers, and more, I want da best sub that hit hard and dat is clear. Oh I dnt want compition sub (10k watt subs)
[All Answers]
My favorite that I have heard, several times in several different cars, are the Eclipse 8000 series.
I have heard the 10's twice, and the 12s once. Great subs, sound fantastic, just like they should.
Alternately, I have heard the old MTX Triple 10 box set, and they have sounded great too.
there is no particular "best sub" there are many great brand besides kicker and jl audio.. theres a lot of brands that make those look like nothing, such as RE audio, RD audio, Digital designs, elemental designs, treo, audioque, hertz, ID, fi audio.. theres tons more...
should look into them.
U can get JBL's which sound just great!!!Mi favourite is the GTO-1204BP- Twin 12" Band Pass Enclosures!!!!DAMN 1800W peak 600W RMS!!!!

I like the 6 inch meatball marinara.
haha jk.
I like kickers a LOT.

sound system help for my car?
[Question]
i have a sub box with 1000 watt mtx and 750 watt lightning audio sub in it. how big of an amp do i need for it to have sufficient power? and also how big of an amp would i need if i had those 2, and some speakers, like a 12 inch 1(any watt), and a few 600 watts?
[All Answers]
Wow... first off,
Don't mix brand and sizes, you can get some funky sounds.
Wattage of an amp for all of those would not be determinable, as we would need exact value of RMS wattages on the speakers.
We would also need to know if they where all subs, or if some where mids and highs.
In any case your going to be looking at +3 amps for a set up like that
Edit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mixing different amp brands and speaker brands is fine.
Its just if you start putting like 4 different brand and size subs on one amp, you get funky sounds
Mixing speaker brand of the same size CAN work(just not in the same box) if you do it right...
EXACTLY what Dr Z said is what I was trying convey
need a little bit better question like the watts of all these different speakers...
and ur giving max power handling watts.. u need to figure it by rms ratings..
and dont listen to the other dude because most great systems have mixed brands of speakers and amps..
You can get great sound putting different brands of different components together- the problem is when you wire them together, or put them in the same box. They move air differently, and require different power at different times, so you may actually end up damaging components, in addition to some "funky" sound.
Will my car alternator even be sufficient?!?
[Question]
Okay so I was thinking of getting a Kicker Comp VX 12" 1500 Watt Dual 2 Ohm DVC Sub woofer and running it parallel so my amp seen a 1 Ohm load of 750 RMS. My amp is rated at 750 RMS @ 1 Ohm, 500 RMS for 2Ohm and 250 RMS for 4 Ohms.
If I'm not mistaken, my car alternator only produces about roughly 86 Amps... I know there is a little math involved but is it even possible to run it off that? Some website ( http://www.crutchfield.com/Learn/learningcenter/car/amplifier_installation_guide.html?page=5 ) says that my alternator needs to put out roughly 108 amps for this scenario?
some one please help.. I know there's allot of seriously experienced audio gurus out there just dieing inside reading this so sorry for any and everything in advance.. and thanks :]
haha thanks hero.. :].. battery if not capacitor.. got it...going to have to do some more reading... thanks for the luck.. definitely going to need it.
[All Answers]
No problem. You wanna get a cap though (that's a capacitor).
ok the best thing to do is get a good battery , as for upgrading your alt. that's not necessary unless you plan on pushing more than 1000watts rms , if your lights do dim just add a power cap about 10farad will do fine but you shouldn't even need that with a nice strong battery and only pushing 750watts rms , good luck and some company will say anything to get a bigger sale. but i'm surprised it your case it's cruchfield
Don't worry about the rms ratings or watts ratings,easiest way to tell is look at the fuse on your amp,doesn't matter if there is one or more,just take notice of the size,obviously if your amp only has a 30 amp fuse/fuses then the amp is not ever going to drain any more than 30 amps,unless you are spending a fortune on an amp or running more than one good quality amp your not going to need to add a capacitor or change your alternator.I have done many 2 & 3 amp (ALPINE/PIONEER ETC) competition setups with no problems & no caps or other mods.
