orale I would recommend a 2 cubic feet per chamber vented enclosure tuned to 34 hertz.
my boyfriend has the same sub. but his is 15.4 instead of 12.4 and he has two of them. idk he builds his own boxes for them though.
the sub you got is the one he wants me to get, but two.. but idk. they are smaller then the ones he has, but im just waiting for a new cd player and a wiring kit to hook the subs i got from him b4 he got the new ones.
good luck.
the best thing for you to do is read the manual on the subs. if they are single voice coil (1 positive and 1 negative lead on the bottom of the sub) then traditionally you want to stay with a sealed box. if they are dual voice coil (2 of each lead) then a vented box is traditionally preffered. the vented box will give you more spl's ( soun pressure levels) in the manual it will tell you what the best size box would be for those particular subs and whether its best to put them in a sealed or vented box. trust the manual because the companies do test their equipment and do tell you the best outcome of their tests. in my experience it is always better to have a custom box built specifically for the particular subs that you are using, that way you get the best performance for your money

I have a question about listening to your iPod touch in your car?
[Question]
I'm buying an iPod touch, current generation, 16GB and I was wondering what I need to get so that I can listen to it through my car? I have a 2003 buick century (i'm not sure if that makes a difference). I've heard about just getting the tape adapter but then I've heard that it doesn't have the best sound to it. So idk what to get. Can anybody help me?
[All Answers]
get a head unit that supports ipod or usb connection.
Get a lighter adapter that allows you to listen to your music through your radio by scanning through channels that have nothing or very little signal. You can find these at radio shack for about 15 bucks. Its less of a hassle as well.
Some cars have a AUX port on the stock radio or around it , i dont know if yours does, but if you do all you need is a double ended AUX cable that will run from your ipod to your port and BAM your done :) another thing is that your radio may have audio in and out jacks on the back of it, if your willing to do a little digging to get it installed you can buy yourself a Y audio cable (it has a red and white end that goes into a single audio jack end) The Y shaped end will go into the similar looking plugs in the back of the radio (make sure you put it in audio in)Or my personal favorite is to just get another after market radio with ipod connectivity and a ipod cable. Right now i have a pioneer radio with ipod connectivity, i can control my ipod straight from the radio without having to even look at my ipod. Hope this helps and good luck in whatever you do with the ipod ;)

How do i run a amp power cord through a firewall?
[Question]
Just plain and simple, how can i get my amp power cord through a 02 nissan sentra firewall( without having to punch a hole in it if at all possible) Thanks in advance guys!
[All Answers]
I MADE A HOLE IN MINE WHEN I RAN THE POWER WIRE BUT BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE OTHER WIRES,U CAN WEDGE A FLAT HEAD ON THE SIDE AND JUST POP IT OUT IF U DONT WANT TO MAKE A HOLE
find a place with an existing wire and slide it throught there. There is usually one on the top left of the firewall. If your car doesnt have it, drill a hole and use a rubber gromet to hold the wire securely.
Woody was the closest to answering this question, all you have to do is "find existing wire" which should have a rubber skirt around the wires and it should cover the body (so it doesn't rust), CAREFULLY make a small incision and slide your cord through. That's it! Have fun be careful.

What to do about subwoofers?
[Question]
I have a 1999 Acura TL with a Bose system. I want subwoofers but really have no clue about matching subs with amps and installing them. Is it possible to get a decent set up for a couple hundred bucks? Thanlks
[All Answers]
Sure. You could pickup decent subs, box, wires & amp for around $300.00 but if you have a Bose desk/mids/highs in there now; many outside of Bose will sound inferior.
yes
and don't worry about the other guys answer.... you do not have to worry about your bose system or replacing it with inferior parts.... you don't even have to change any of that if you do not want to.
what you will expect to, need to buy and rough costs
subs buy one get one at any big box store? $100 a pair
a box $100
Wire $50
Amp $100
Line output Conv, $30
install probably in the $100 range
or you could buy a all in one kit from your local big box store. They are cheaper.... $250 ish for everything except the LOC and the install labor.
Keep in mind, most of the time, you get what you pay for....
OH, and you could cut them prices A LOT if you buy used gear....
definitely.... my first setup only ran me 150 and and that got me a 400 watt rockford fosgate with 2 MTX 12inch subs in a sealed box and a wire kit for it. But that was all used, if your looking to go new you can get some sony xplodes that are usually cheap (ive heard good and bad so do some homework on them before you buy them) Wal mart sells dual sub enclosures, they may no t be the sturdiest thing but if you reinforce it a bit they work fine, And a amp is what your going to want to want to put a good bit of the 300 bucks into, I recommend rockford fosgate but that's just me, Good brand name amps tend to fair better in the long run, not burning up and the such, so dont go with a cheap wal mart amp if your looking to pump out alot of heavy bass. Now as far as installing it......youll either have to learn how to run the wires yourself as you go and how to wire your amp or you could take it to a car audio shop. and they could charge you god knows how much to get it put in. Sometimes you can find people on the internet who document and post picture tutorials of this kind of thing, so with some luck you could find a picture by picture and step by step guide on how to wire your stuff. Good Luck man hope this helped :)

Upgrading Car Speakers?
[Question]
I have a pegueot 107, with standerd speakers, i think they are about 30-50 watts.
I was wondering weather its worth replacing them for 110 watt speakers that are better quality. They would cost £60 including fitting.
Will they improve the quality depth etc alot? or is it not worth spending that much on something that doesnt make alot of difference?
Thanks
[All Answers]
It's hard to say. It really depends on the quality of the OEM components and their condition. In many cases the sound will seem worse because the OEM system was designed to work in the car and aftermarket components have different specifications. Be careful with higher wattage speakers because some need more power than your head unit can provide and will not play like you want.
if you are going to replace the speakers, you will need an amp, because the speakers with the car will be designed to use with the cars original cd player. If you get an amp with aftermarket speakers this will make the sound better because the 110 watt speakers mean nothing when your head unit/ player will only put out a 20 something watt power. If your not planning on getting an amp. Stick with the original ones, if you wanna get the 110 watters, do so, but think about getting an amp.
