Will I be able to run 2 Alpine Type Rs off this amp?
[Question]
I have an Alpine PDX 1.1000 which actually puts out 1180 at 2 and 4 ohms (it says this on the birthsheet)
Could I safely run 2 12" Type Rs (1000RMS) off of it?
[All Answers]
Yes, your amp says 1000w at 2 or 4 ohm, I'm not sure how thats possible since 2 ohm should be more power. If you have the type-r 2 ohm subs then two can make a 2 ohm load. Two 4 ohm type-r's can make a 4 ohm load if wired correctly. I run my two type-rs at a little more than 1000w RMS. Here is how to wire them: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp
yea you can safely run dem. type R can handle a max of 1500 max and 500rms soo it shud be good if you bridge it it'll give it 500 sumin watt to each subz. shudda got one type X WOW it beat very hard you just dunno ahahaha i have one type X 12' and da thing beat hard and save alot of trunk room and hit like 2 12's
Yes, you could definately run your Type-Rs off from this amp, i would assume since your talking about a speaker of this caliber you are already running a cap, but if your not i would highly recommend geting one.
I run two kicker CompVX15s off from my Kenwood Excelon KAC-X650D without a cap and it seems to do alright half way up. But anything louder than half it starts clipping, and thats only putting i believe 350 total to the subs alone cuz its a five channel. So yeah, i would highly suggest a capacitor.
you can make any thing hit by wiring it up right. Sense you have a mono amp you will be fine just hook it up as norma,l but if you had a 4 channel amp or even 2 channel you can bridge the channels and run the subs in sequence and that will make a small amp hit. by bridging the amp you lower the ohms thus making more RMS power. with the sub have 1000 watt RMS capability you will have no problems.
Yes, as each sub gets half the power. It has the same power at both impedances because it is designed that way, just like the JL slash series.

how to stop your van tracker system working, to stop the boss checking up on you!?
[Question]
I thought a tracker was for ,in case your vehicle got stolen , not so companys can slash your wages against your daily work!!!!!
[All Answers]
That would be gross midconduct - not a good idea.
burn the van, or park it outside his house for an hour.
I think you've just perfectly explained why your boss needed to fit a tracker to your van.
Disconnect it.
Cover it with a lead shield to stop radio waves from getting to it - remove after use though or boss will find it when he trys to fix the tracker

Subs and/or amp aren't working?
[Question]
I have a Kicker 07DC122 Dual Comp.12" Ported Enclosure Subwoofer and a kicker zx300.1 amp with a Premier DEH-P500UB. Problem is my subs aren't working and the red light on amp doesn't seem to be on. Any ideas on why? Should I try out different settings before I take it back to the store (I have warranties for all 3 items). I drive a Ford Escape and everything seemed fine until I got into my car yesterday and no bass. Please help.
[All Answers]
I would go over all your wire connections, eveeronce in a while my bass will knock some cables loose casuing a similar situation. or maybe something on the deck shifted in the rear from going around a corner fast or a large bumb etc. <---all problems ive encountered personally.
Where is your remote wire connected? Needs to be on a wire than turns off when the car turns off. You can connect the remote directly to your battery to test the amp but you don't want it there permantely because the amp will stay on when car is off.
First I would check the rca from your deck to make sure they are out putting. The light on the amp is normally supposed to be green. But if no light is on check your fuses. Then if still no power.. check the ground and remote wire. If still no go check the fuses on the amp itself.
The first thing you look at is you remote turn on of this is not hooked up you well have know power.

DOES ANY ONE KNoW IF DB DRIVE IS A GOOD BRAND?
[Question]
I BOUGHT TWO 12'S AND A 1600 WATT AMP FROM THEM BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE COMPONENT SPEAKERS ARE GOOD DOES ANY ONE KNOW THANKS GUYS
WELL I CAN RETURN THEM BUT THIS BRAND IS VERY BIG IN SOUTH TEXAS IM JUST WONDERING IF ANY ONE HA HAD THEM BEFORE ANY ADVISE IS GOOD
[All Answers]
You shoud have asked before you bought them.
Never heard of them
Depends on how much you paid. Sonicelectronix has alpine type-rs for like $110 each and some cheap Hifonics amps. Problem with your setup is your amp does 1600w @ 1 ohm but those subs can't really handle that so you will have to run them at 4 ohm which will under power them. Always ask first because thats not a good match you have. Two DVC 2 ohm subs would have been great with that amp.

Most receivers have an aux for other sources. Does yours have one for cd, aux, etc? You can use those.
Yes, I would buy a portable mixer. Try maplin or ebay.
