Is there anyway to install CD player in the automatic climate control (digital push buttons) for Ford Taurus?
[Question]
[All Answers]
no there is no way , there is no kit for the digital ac controls
but you can add this cd changer in the trunk the connection is in the left side behind the carpet
http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-42-57-ford-taurussable-lincoln-cd-changer-1995-to-2007.aspx
It can be done, but requires custom work. I've seen new head units installed vertically in the center console, or mounted into the opening below the factory radio/climate control module. I've even seen a factory climate control module gutted and cut out so that a new head unit could be mounted right into the factory unit, and keep the digital climate controls working.
If you just want to be able to listen to CDs, your best option is probably the CD changer mentioned above.
I have that same issue with my Taurus, I've seen custom jobs done where the stereo is, but it costs alot, and it could turn off the passenger air bag permanently.

retardness + cigarette lighter = broke radio?
[Question]
ok well i was bored and waiting on a friend so i wanted to see how how i could get the cigarette lighter in my car. I held it in a lil over 20 seconds and then the radio shut off and now it wont come back, what do u think i did and how can i fix it?
[All Answers]
Sounds like you blew a fuse. Check your fuse box (either under or on the side of the dash board). They should be labeled.
If you're lucky, you blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter. If you're not lucky, you may have damaged the wiring. Most factory cigarette lighter wiring isn't thick enough for a sustained high current draw.
It's not unusual for the radio's memory power wire to be shared with the cigarette lighter power, so a blown fuse would kill the power to both accessories. That's the first thing to check. I've seen cases where the actual fuse block terminal was melted, along with all the wiring between the fuse box and cigarette lighter. If that's the case, it's going to need some repairs; but hopefully you can just replace the cigarette lighter fuse and everything will be fine.
You need to hope for two things. First that all you did is blow a fuse, and the fuse blew before any damage was done. Then you need to hope that it isn't a very high end radio with a security system that shuts it down when power is lost to the radio. In that case your friend will need to go to the dealer and pay to have it reset. If that is the case, since your being bored caused the problem, you will need to pay him back whatever it costs to get things rights again.
How can YOU fix it? Please don't, you've done enough already.

Kenwood CD Player help!!!!?
[Question]
Hi there! I have just got a smart roadster light and it has a kenwood KDC 3027 stereo....only trouble is, the player keeps spitting out the cd every time I start the car, then takes ages for it to accept it back....does anyone know why this is? Or how to fix it? I don;t have the manual and the only ones I can find online are in french! he he!
If someone could help that'd be great!
Xxx
Aaaah, thank's guys, ;-) I found the manual, and yeah, Keith you are right, the only reason it gives for ejecting a CD is a dirty disk...but the disk isn't dirty, it just literally spits it out every time I start the car. ;-( hey ho, I guess I'll just have to force it back in there every time I get in the car!!! Annoying when you keep listening to the first track again and again and again. he he! Cheers again guys!

it's available at safemanuals.com
just looked at kenwood operators manual there only mentions one problem for the disk ejecting on its own and that is if the disk needs cleaning
i want to know this as well, puzzled...!

Can you help me bypass the Infinity Amp on a 97 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertible?
[Question]
I believe my amp went out several months ago because of a water issue. The amp is located under the passenger seat. I have installed an aftermarket cd/radio receiver hoping that the built-in amp will power the speakers but was unsuccessful.
I get a low volume and distorted sound from the four speakers while the tweeters give me some volume.
Does this sound like a problem with the Amp? If so, is there a way to bypass it? I'm being told by audio shops that I need to rewire it (and they are happy to do the work!).
My preference would be to simply find a harness/adapter, cut and splice, etc. to bypass the factory amp.
[All Answers]
yep thats exactly what you could do, on the standard amp see if the input wires are RCA cables, if so then you best bet is to buy a cheap amp and replace it, if the input are speaker wires then just connect the input to the output wires...
Factory amplifier problems are very common in those vehicles, thanks to the location under the passenger seat, and the likelihood of getting water in a convertible.
I don't know of any quick, plug-and-play bypass harnesses for that vehicle. If you want to bypass the stock amp--and that's probably what you need--then you'll have to do some re-wiring. That doesn't mean you need to run new wire to each speaker. Just unplug the factory amp, find the input wires coming from the head unit, and connect them directly to the output wires going to the speakers.
If you do this, you'll either need to leave the tweeters disconnected or install a passive crossover on the tweeter wires so you're not sending them a full-range audio signal. My advice would be to replace the front door speakers with a decent after-market 2-way or 3-way 6.5" speaker. (The factory door speakers are 6x9", but there aren't many after-market 6x9"s that will fit the door location because of the mounting depth. I prefer to build a bracket and install a 6.5" speaker in the door). If you have good full-range speakers in the door, you won't miss the sound from the dash tweeters.
Here's the wire colors at the factory amp location:
Front left (+) input: dk. green output: lt.grn/violet
Front left (-) input: brown/red output: lt.grn/dk.grn
Front right (+) input: violet output: lt.blue/violet
Front right (-) input: blue/red output: lt.blue/dk.grn
Rear left: (+) input: white/red output: brown/yellow
Rear left (-) input: white/blk output: brown/lt.blue
Rear right (+) input: tan/red output: blue/white
Rear right (-) input: tan/blk output: blue/orange
Again, to bypass the amp you need to unplug it, then connect each input wire directly to its corresponding output wire. I prefer to keep the plugs attached, then wire in a jumper between each pair of wires. This lets me cut the jumpers and re-install the factory amp in the future, if needed. Otherwise you can just cut off the plugs and connect the wire pairs together with solder or crimp connectors. (Because it's so easy for that location to get wet, solder and shrink tubing is the best method).
