i need to know what type of music you listen to your pricerange and how many subs you want?
Please email me and i will help you choose a setup
personally i like alpine tye r's they hit hard.
but you will need a big amp and if your car is convertible you'll need a band pass box
JL W7
you should get a 13.5 inch JL w7 with two JL 1000/1 amps and a 3 farad capacitor with a ported box. it will be expensive but worth it. nothing will compare to its over all sound, efficiency, and quality.
Don't listen to them.. I agree with Patrick. It depend on what type of music you listening to, how much money you willing to put on your system, and how many sub are you gonna get. Me,personally for Sound Quaility go for JL, if you want SPL go with the Kicker Solo L7/Solo X.
its a personal prefrence.
honestly these people have probably never worked on anything more than what they have (sorry if you have) but my dad has worked on systems for close to thirty years.
heres his top list.
1. rockford fosgate
2. planet audio
3.kicker
4. bazooka
5.jbl
6. jl audio
7. mtx audio
8. dual (perferebly the drive series)
9. pioneer
10. sony explod (belive it or not patrick, weve got a competion truck and its got five reigon trophys and it got two 12'' and two 15'' sony explods running off of two pioneer amps. they're not pos.)

How to make the car sound louder?
[Question]
My dad has 2005 BMW 330 Ci with the performance package and sounds great but...I'd like it to sound a bit louder...what do I add?
[All Answers]
Get a catback? Remove the resonator? Or just unbolt it from the muffler, But it is illegal and you will not pass smog
put a hole in the exhaust
First of all this is a great car, a car for a true driver, a driver who knows the cars ability and can appreciate it's high level of engineering.
I feel more sad than anything else for the folk who thinks that louder is better. Some real clever germans spent a good deal of time to make that car sound the way it does...and you want to take it an redneck-it-up. Don't do it. You should not even touch a car like that, this car's level of performance surpasses your driving knowledge and skill by a very huge margin. You should learn a bit about cars and learn how to respect the cars that deserve it.
if you want it to soud louder put some headers and 3 inch exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and it will sound great!
You need to replace the stock exhaust system with an aftermarket performance one. Most are cat back systems. You can go online to Flowmaster or Dynomax or any of the aftermarket exhaust companies and get an idea of what your car will sound like. Their web site offer a sound bite of your car with their exhaust on it. So visit these sites punch in your car crank up to sound and dream away.
well theres not much you can do with a performance sound system
i apologized for all the morons that didnt know you were talking about sound...
The upgrades would be a bit harder beacuse of that premium sound amplififer... to make it louder you would need to rip out the stock speakers and then rewire the entire cars speaker wire to bypass the performance sound amp then add an ampo for the new speakers and a sub if u would like
the only problem is BMWs have a metal plate between the back steat and the trunk which is a big bass killer if you were thinking about a subwoofer.

What are the disadvantages of using navigation systems while driving?
[Question]
I need to find them out.
Any answer that does not provide any detail will be reported.
I'll vote for the first person who provides an detailed answer.
[All Answers]
First, the driver must look at a display while driving, which makes driving less safe. For providing driving directions, visual displays are most easily used when they are least needed. Second, with respect to graphic displays, many people have difficulty using maps, making this mode of providing information undesirable. However, if speech is used, the driver's eyes are left free for driving. In addition, speech uses words, and can therefore refer to past and future actions and objects not yet seen. This is hard to do with symbolic displays or maps.
disadvantages are driving and looking at the navigation all the time , if you dont watch it all the time you should be good , also missing turns can be trickey
well first one is that they don't know any construction going on the road, when you change lanes sometimes it gives you a different route, and sometimes they direct you the longest way to get to the location.
It's not safe too stare at your GPS the whole time or while changing lanes, because you have to watch the road and your mirrors, and the 360 shoulder check.
The ONLY disadvantage is distraction. Some time people try to SET the GPS while driving (a big No-No).
And often times, the voice is NOT very clear or loud, so it makes the driver look away from road and try to figure out what the GPS has just said.
The GPS map database goes out of date. In OLD cities (like NYC and Boston) I did NOT find it a problem. But I found that in NJ and L.A. the maps goes out of date very quickly. I has a brand new GPS and I got immediately LOST in NJ. And then the next month I took it to Los Angeles. And even though I was doing fine for the most part, my friend (local to L.A.) told me to take a road, and it turned out to be brand new hwy that the GPS had no idea about (he said it was no more than few months old).
====
Then there's the problem of theft problem. The suction cup always leaves a ring on the windshield and lets the world know you have a GPS system in the car somewhere.
Good luck.......
1. Distraction - When using a navigation system, you are distracted from driving. You have to continuously glance at the screen, when you should be watching the road.
2. Dependability - Unless you get a self-updating system, then newer roads don't exist, so you eventually end up having to guess how to get to the road you need to take. Also, some systems have a tendency to be a couple hundred yards off of their estimations. This being said, if you were just listening to the speech then it might tell you to turn right in 200 yards, when actually you need to turn right away.
And, this is entirely me, but it takes away the spontaneity of trips. Half the fun of most trips is getting there. One of the best trips I've ever taken we were lost for 2 horus and got home ridiculously late on a school night because we were too scared to stop and ask for directions.

I need some car speaker/ sound system help!?
[Question]
I just bought a Pyramid Original 400 watt sub from a church sale. I would love to wire it into my car but have a few problems. One being i don't know the rating on it for ohms. I would assume the standard 4 but could be wrong. Also i'm not really sure what kinda amp i need for it. I would like to put the sub on it's own individual channel seperate from the rest of the speaker system in the car. What i have in the car right now is the factory installed stock.
After taking the box apart all the infromation i found on the speaker is that has 4 ohms impedience and the only other number that may help tell exactly what model it might be is WX-155
[All Answers]
first of all i suggest you go to a verizon store and get some speakers from them because that speaker wont sound to good then get and amp from there in theyll hook it all up for you
If you can find and post a serial number i will find the info on it.
You bought a cheap sub, but thats ok if you just want tho thump. It is probably a 4 ohm load. I would just suggest getting a 2 channel amp. Or, if you get a 4 channel, you could bridge it to get more power, but there is no need as the sub is not that great. In order to wire the amp up to a factory head unit, you need something with RCA outs. Normally, aftermarket HUs come with RCA outs. Newer cars are now coming out with HUs that have RCAs built in. You will also need a remote turn on (blue wire) going to the amp. This is normally found on the wiring harness that you buy to support your aftermarket HU. You are getting over your head with cost here. I would suggest buying new equipment. If you are going to buy a new headunit, get a new sub. Something with power. As far as your question those, this should be suffice. Let me know if you need anything though
I have to say... Those Pyramid Sub are not that great. but if you just wanna add some thump in your ride than go for it. Normally sub are majority made base on a 4ohm resistant. I suggest getting an amp that is perfect for those sub. Usually a 500-600watt amp will be good enough for your sub.. You can wired both sub to a 2ohm load and use a mono amp. This amp will be perfect for your sub. It a Memphis class D reference amp. its rated at 300x1@4ohm, 600x1@2ohm, and 1000x1@1ohm. Since your sub will be wired at 2ohm it will be pushing 600watts and that will be way enough for your sub. For any amp to work on a OEM deck.. I'll suggest getting a rca converter box, you can pick one up at radio shack.

Howdy ..I am having problems with my car stereo.... the fuse keeps blowing!!!?
[Question]
The model is a 97 Ford fiesta..... Anytime I plug the stereo in the fuse blows immediatley!!... Im not sure if its the car or the stereo... I have a friend who is an electrition that looked at the stereo, he said it might be the car... Any suggestions on how to fix it....thanks
[All Answers]
buy a bigger fuse to go in the fuse box of your car. I had a 95 Blazer that would to the same thing I bought a bigger fuse I think it was a 15 and I didnt have anymore trouble.
Is it an aftermarket or stock stereo?
Patrick, what was the reasoning for that post?
Buy a larger fuse for the slot. maybe a 15, or 20 fuse. I would assume the fuse if a 10 fuse. Anyway, if the fuse blows when you try a larger fuse, it means you have a short somewhere in the electrical wiring / harness. Probably an open / broken wire that is grounding itself to part of the car metal. That could be problematic so hope its not that. If its an aftermarket hookup, try to keep the volume low when you turn it on. If the fuse does not blow, but blows when you turn it up, you are pushing too much current through the fuse. Again, if its aftermarket, pull out the setup and check your wiring and make sure no bare wiring is touching
