How do I put a CD player in my car?
[Question]
So I have a Chevy 1996 Corsica and the only thing it has at the moment is a radio and cassette player. Is there instructions or something of how to get a CD player in it? Or what I would have to do or go to get one installed? Thanks!
[All Answers]
Yes go get an installer to do it for you
Go to your car stereo shop, tell them you want a model for which you can buy a "wiring harness" that will fit your car. A wiring harness (or "wiring loom") is a bunch of wires with a plug at each end. One end will plug into a socket in your car, and the other will plug into the back of your new CD player. This is much easier than manually figuring out which wire needs to go where.
Once you've got the new stereo and the wiring harness, you need to figure out how to get the old stereo out. If you don't have a workshop manual for your car, you may need to look around on line, maybe in some Chevy forums, or get a friend to help you out. The new one should fit in the same slot, and should be easy to hook up using the wiring harness.
If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, most car audio shops will install something for you (for an additional fee). Call around and ask.
Since you're asking you're better off getting it installed where you buy it. It's easy to do a crapy job if you haven't done this before.
But in basic steps.
- Remove the cover plate from the dash. If you do not know how to do this, you may need to buy the shop manual for the car to find out how, or read the book in the book store.
- Remove the old radio
- disconnect the wires for power, speakers and antenna.
- connect the wires for power, speakers and antenna, you may need adapters, or have to custom make one.
- install the radio in the empty space, again you may need adapters, shims, spacers etc....
- reinstall the dash.
you take it to a auto electrican
How do I put a CD player in my car?
u grap the cd player then open the car window and throw it in ....now u got a CD player IN ur car
HHAHAHAHAHA XD...
go to local motor parts shop or halfords and get a plug that the cd player connects (the cd player should have come with a plug with wires on that connects to the cd player its self) to then its simply a case of putting in a live wire from your battery with a in-line fuse (if this is your first time get som spare fuses) and a earth(connected to the cars body) and conecting the speeker wires up (they normally look a bit like the ones on your household sterio) the plug your got from the shop. once the shop plug is wired up properly (theres normally a diagram on the cd player) you just connect the 2 plugs together or you give up and take it to halfords which costs a fortune. if you still stuck try eHow.com
you could go to a car aduio store and buy a cd player there and they will put it in for you, or you can buy your own and put it in, if you arent good with that type of thing then your best bet would be to just go to the car audio store and have them do it for you.
You can also try this,it looks pretty easy.

What is Tweeter? I've never heard of it before?
[Question]
Is this something new this year for this year's 2009
[All Answers]
twitter!! (follow me)
it's called Twitter and it's lame. It's like you send all your followers updates in less than 140 words, i.e. be very annoying.
Its like MySpace and Facebook combined. Its a lot safer though. I like the idea.
Guys, she is talking about speakers, not internet BS. A Tweeter is a speaker designed specifically for high frequencies. They have been around for a long time.
Tweeter is a micro blogging system. You send and receive updates via SMS messages directly to your cell phone. You should subscribe to accounts you want to "follow".

Remote output wire from head unit?
[Question]
I'm installing a MUTANT (MTAL12) Sub&Amp bass package in my car.
Instructions tell me "The blue remote wire runs down the same side as the power cable and will connect to the remote output wire from your head unit."
There's nothing on my head unit that could be this remote output wire.
My head unit is JVC.
Any help? Please take into concideration that I'm a complete Novice. Thanks!
JVC KD G343 Head unit.
[All Answers]
Your head unit is not compatable with what you are trying to install
the remote wire is usually a blue wire in the wiring harness that runs to your amp that tells your amp to turn on. if you just have a plug and play wire harness, the blue wire will be there but not hooked up to anything. if you have to splice the wires, then your remote wire is probably just hanging there. you have to splice a wire from your remote wire and run it to your amp along the power side and hook it up to your remote input.
this wire sends a signal so that when you turn your car on, and you headunit comes on, the amp will come on and power your speakers, subs...
What exact JVC head unit?
(God, why does everyone want subs & amps?)
See the attached;
http://www.nexxia.co.uk/More_Information/ISO_wiring.htm
There are two plugs in the back of the radio: One has a slightly offset tag that you squeeze to unplug it. This is the power connector - check for 12v at terminal 5 whilst your stereo is 'on'. If you have 12v, then this is the wire that needs to be connected to your amp switch (the blue wire).
You'll need a test lamp or meter - ask a friend to help if you don't have one.
The remote turn on wire on your radio is "blue with a white strip"
And in case you are interested here's a link to the owners manual.

You may have two blue wires in the back of the deck...One is solid blue and the other is blue with a white stripe. The solid blue is usually the AUTO ANTENNA....and the blue with white stripe should be the REMOTE WIRE...Just splice ur wire coming from the amp with the blue and white wire in the deck and u should be ready....

How to get my radios code?
[Question]
The radio in my car broke, so I bought a new one. This wasn't supplied with a code as it is second hand.
Does anybody know how I could get the code ... or can anybody supply me with it?!
Any help greatly appreciated.
Laura.
The radio is for a Vauxhall corsa, its a CDR500 (i think) I don't have the serial code right now, but I do have it.
I know it's just a 4 digit code that I need.
[All Answers]
need more information on the radio, but sometimes if you hold a combination of two or more buttons, you can get the code to flash on the lcd display
Ring the manufacturer - sometimes they can give it to you over the phone - this is how I got mine when the electrics went in my car. Not sure if you need to have proof of purchase though if it was bought separately.
yes, all radio codes are kept at the agency concerned. if its a ford then go to a ford agency but you may have to prove its really yours cause some radios have the car number they belonged to stored in them. and they charge about £30.00 for doing this. r u sure its not written on the radio case somewhere.
A Vauxhall dealer can give you the code, or it can be generated from the unit's serial number.
The idea of having a coded radio is to stop thieves selling stolen radios. If you bought the radio you should have been given an owners handbook and printed inside that manual is your radios code. You can not simply ask whats your code and expect a reply like its 7923.

Can a body shop install LED lights under my car for me?
[Question]
Hey, i recently bought some LED lights from "streetglow" for the underside of my car.
Unfortunately, im horrible when it comes to installing things on my car and usually have a body shop help me out. but im not too sure if they handle this sorta thing...
So basically im asking if a local body shop will except the job, which includes: mounting the LED Lights under the car, connecting them to the power source, and also adding a switch on the dash to turn them on and off as well.
[All Answers]
why bother asking us...?
ask them!
make a few phone calls, i think they would do it,or atleast they could tell you who would be able to do it
It depends on the shop you go to some shops do custom work so its best you ask around a different shops prices will vary, but in sure you could work out something with any shop you go to..
Good luck!
Most body shops don't do this, so a specialty shop would be needed. Call around and see what they can do for you. In my state underglow is illegal but if you put enough paper in their face then a body shop will do anything for money.
NO OFFENCE...but what i personally feel is:
" u dont deserve to own a car of your own ...when u dont know how to install basic light in your F!@#$%& car.."
" POOR CAR " got stuck with you...!!
