My car stereo is broken!?
[Question]
My cd's will play but the stereo screen doesn't come on and the buttons do not work so i can't change the song or change the volume. Do you think it's anything to do with a fuse or is the detachable stereo actually broken?
[All Answers]
Detachable front panel contacts are broken or dirty. This happens if it is not looked after well.
i think its broken
try bying a new 1
nope, itll be cheaper to buy a new one.
take it back to the store or go buy a new one simple and easy. dealing with that is wasteing time and more money
hey yeh i would definitely get a new one it is far too much hassle to start fiddling around with it and then probably having to buy a new one in the end anyway!!
you get some really cheap ones on the net on sites like

do need a capacitor for this sub and amp kit?
[Question]
what gauge waire should i use and do i need a cap for this to be used in a 4cylnder car. how many watts is the amp it says somthing about rsm ??? help.

The amp is 400 watts RMS but I doubt its even pushing that much and you wont need a capacitor. You can get 6 awg groung and power wire. If you are a bass head you wont be satisfied with this combo, so dont be expecting trunk shakin noise.
Try this combo, that Audiobahn setup is a total waste of money. Kicker is a much better quaility company. The rms is the wattage that the amp is pushing continuously. There will be absolutely no need for capacitor. If your lights dim, you still do not need a capacitor, you need the big 3 upgrade.
Small amp - a cap isn't even a consideration. A good 8 AWG kit will be fine for it.
Based on the specs & pictures from the link, can't really tell what the RMS power is. Keep in mind MagAudio isn't CEA-2006 compliant, so the wattage they claim can't really be counted on either.
DUB is crap. Audiobahn makes it. I wouldn't run them for free in my vehicles.

how can I get my ipod to play through my car?
[Question]
I have a 2000 BMW 323ci, and it doesn't have a cassette player. I looked for an auxiliary jack or whatever, and I couldn't find it, but there might be one I just can't find it.
a while ago I bought an itrip for 11 dollars on ebay, its a piece of garbage, I literally touched it one day and it fell apart.
so anyways, how can I play my ipod in my car?
thanks!
[All Answers]
Buy a good itrip they work really good
Monster cables makes an FM transmitter that's alright. The best thing you can is go to local car stereo dealer and ask them what to do. Go to radioshack or bestbuy and ask for an FM transmitter for ipod. Best way is to replace stereo in your car.
Get a better stereo.
The best thing you can do is to get a new head unit for your car. Buying any of the transmitters (ie iTrip) will never work as well as a new stereo that you can plug your iPod directly into. The amount of money you will spend on a really good transmitter will almost equal the cost of a new Stereo anyway.

So someone broke into my car and jacked my CD player (among other things) I can't fix it now, help?
[Question]
So the other day some asshole broke into my car and ruined it... he took the aftermarket CD player... so when I went back and tried attaching the original cassette player, it didn't work... I know I installed it correctly... but there was absolutely no power going to the radio...
I tested the cigarette lighter and there was no power going to it either...
I tried finding the source of the wiring harness, but I can't find it... any advice on what he could have done? You think he screwed up the wiring?
fuses checked also..
[All Answers]
Check all fuses and wiring
could of blown a fuse somewhere. pull the fuses out and have a real good look to see if they have blown.
if the mug has given the cd player a real good yank to get it out, he may have broken some cables further back, so have a look at that too.
i feel bad for ya bro, unlucky
This is just another reasonn to have insurance on your car. My insurance will even cover this, it is called vandalism.

Wanting to get XM radio, will I need a special car radio to hook it up or how does that work?
[Question]
I know that when you hook up an amp in your car your radio has to have the plugs for leads. So will my stock radio work or will I have to purchase a new radio? I have a 2005 chevy classic
[All Answers]
you will need a SAT. radio ready unit.
Most new aftermarket units are SAT. ready but you should make sure when you buy it.
you dont need anything it should hook right up
all gm vehicles from 2004 and up are XM ready and will control the xm tuner, radio must have a BAND button press it it will togle from am to fm and to xm
if XM don't show up you are missing the xm tuner and that is all you need the tuner and the antenna it will work from your factory radio
you need this
