what is that terrible smell?
[Question]
when i turn my system all the way up and let it bang for more than like 20 or 30 mins it starts to wreak like burning plastic throughout the whole car , what the hell is that and how do i stop it?
[All Answers]
Your going to blow your speaker..
It's probably from some bad wiring and the smell is something burning. If you had it professionally installed I'd take it back and have them fix it.
Think about that for just a minute. Wow, they actually let you have a license?
Your overheating your components. Sometimes when equip is new it will smell the first few times it gets hot as it burns off the oils etc from manufacturing and it should get fainter with each use. If this is not the case just keep cranking it and you will find the problem when it dies. Just keep a fire extinguisher handy.
all players will distort at full volume, some more than others.
When you let it "bang" for that long the energy used to produce the sound also produces heat. Try a better system and speakers, or save your ears and turn it down a little.
im sorry pardon me thats was my lunch kind of gasy.. dude what you think you smell burning plastic its wires melting stop by removing battery cables and rewiring system with a heavier cable
Too much power through the existing wiring. BTW What makes you think that the motoring public wants to hear your reasonable facsimile of music anyway?
well that your subwoofers is are they in a box ported?? if your stuff is new then its the voice coil that breaking thats normal but becareful make sure your gain isn't that high up because it could heat up your cone and eventually blow your subwoofer...

My subwoofers are making my lights dim?
[Question]
i have two 10 inch cerwin veags who put out about 600 RMS each. i also just put them in a ported box and bought a new 4 Farad BOSS capacitor. when i drive with my headlights on and my radio on and i turn on my interior lights i see them dimming! but idk how this is possible because of my 4 farad capacitor can someone help me fix this please:/

bigger altenator?
i think its your battery and alternator its one of those. capacitors don't help.
First thing, it's a Boss cap, might as well tape a bunch of energizer batteries together. Your alternator probably can't provide enough juice to power everything. Even though the cap should "store" enough power to keep your amp working, Boss products are not very efficient. Not all caps are the same.

my car will quit when driving after setting for about 10 or 15 min. it will start and run again.?
[Question]
[All Answers]
Take it to a car shop and let them run a diagnostic test on your car, it will show up everything that is wrong with your car and it doesn't cost that much.
Is it overheating? Do you mean setting idle for 10-15 minutes or driving for that long?
My fiance's car had a similar problem. Have a car shop run diagnostics on it, and look closely at the fuel injector.

what has to match when buying a subwoofer and an amplifier for my car?
[Question]
what has to match between them and any tips on what are some good ones that go together?
[All Answers]
about it you can find information from the following website
http://bestcar-audiosystems.blogspot.com/
Ohms and for the best performance rms wattage but just make sure that the wattage of the amp does not exceed the wattage of your sub or it could blow your speaker. As far as recommendations go, KICKER.
First decide on the subs you want. I also recommend Kicker.
As an example, if you want 2 x 12" subs, with a max rating of 800 watts each at 4 Ohms (single voice coil), then find an amp that has a rating of 400-600 watts x 2 of continuous power at 4 ohms.
Never match max speaker watts with max amp output. The max numbers are deceiving, and are peak numbers in a lab environment. The max amp power is usually only for a few seconds anyway, not what you want.
Subs: 2 x 12" -- 800W @ 4Ohms
Amp: ~ 600W x 2 (continuous power, not max) @ 4 Ohms
