if you don't have the code you an take it to a car entertainment workshop and they can find the code for about £15
Ask the garage that unplugged your battery to figure it out.
whats the serial number on the radio, cant get the code without this
so try this site. and you should find decoder.
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/6529/_.html
put in fiat marea98 in search, enter. should be few down on list
oops that should take you to what you need?
Try a Fiat dealer. They may have a note of the code on their database linked to the car reg.no.
if it is a standard stereo which came with the car ie a Fiat one then a Fiat dealer will have access to a database from which they can get you the code, they normally charge £10-15 to retrieve it for you but the garage should pay this for you as it is their fault.

what type of enclosure is the best for loud bass and quality?
If i hook up a pair of these subs rockford with rockford or kenwood with kenwood and put a 1200 watt amp by JL audio would they blow or can it handle it?
please only these two don't suggest other subs

well since your running a 1200 watt amp u would need to go with the kenwoods, since the rockfords are 150 watts rms and 300 peak. the kenwoods are 400 rms and 1200 max, so you should be able to run 2 kenwoods without a problem. the only difference between a DVC(dual voice coil) and SVC(single voice coil) is that a DVC has more wiring configurations, they are equally loud, the kenwoods would be louder than the rockfords and for a lower price, yes you can put them in a ported box, u need to make sure there is enough air volume for a ported box id say around 1-2 cubic feet per chamer. as for sealed it could be .75-1.75, hope that helps
I go with the rockford...I would put them in a sealed box not ported...They will be fine with the amp just adjust it all out..
get the kenwood! thats a heck of a deal! Handles more power and its cheaper! I would get 2 kenwoods and just make sure your gain on your amp is set right. those p1's wont handle but 150-200 watts. the kenwood will handle 400-500 watts.
Put the kenwoods in a custom ported box 4 cubic ft. tuned to 35hz with 60 sq. inches of port and they will be much much louder than the rockfords in a sealed box
Well, I will have to suggest other subs. Both are over priced and below in quality and peformance.

New to car audio...I just bought 2 3000 watt 12" type X subs. What do I need for an amp?
[Question]
I just finished everything I wanted to do to my Impala. Now I'm working on the audio system. I put it off because I don't know much. I already replaced my components and head unit...all alpine...now on the subs...2 12" 3000watt type-X subs. What do I need as far as amplifiers to hook up to these?
[All Answers]
whats your budget? You can probably nab a hifonics 2000 rms amp for around 300. and it will be plenty of power for those subs
There is two method of rating watts for a speaker, one rating is the peek wattage and the other rating is the RMS wattage. Peek watts is the maximum watts a speaker can handle at a give moment, RMS watts it the amount of watts a speaker can handle continuously. When buying a amp RMS is the most important factor
Alpine Type X 12s can handle 1000watts RMS. So you need a amp that can produce 1000watts RMS per channel(1000watts RMS x 2). Or it may be better to use two amps (1000watts RMS x 1)each.
It depends what ohm your subs are. Without knowing this, you will buy the wrong amp. Do not listen to most people on here.

take it to a car entertainment specialist in your area they will tell you the code for about £ 15

You didn't give the Year-Make & Model. But anyway, you take your registration (To show ownership) And whatever else you may have pertaining to when this car was purchased to the manufacturers parts department. Ask them and if you've proved to them your the legal owner, they will give you the unlock code. In the dealership I worked for, the Prep department used to put a stick on label on the glove box door. They label had the radio unlock codes. check yours. Good Luck

Amp turns off - no protection light just shut off?
[Question]
Hi,
I currently have an amp installed (JBL GT5-A402) and it runs the sub fine - but it will cut off for no reason - no protection light comes on as the volume isn't even high!
I checked the back of my car and physically saw the light on then it turned off for no reason. I have a fused live cable gauge 4 cable and gauge 6 live cable - earth point is a sanded down metal face behind the rear seat. Need some advise as to if it is a bad earth point? Its a brand new amp nd sub and cabelling kit.
My car is a Vectra B '98 can anyone advise a suitable earth point that will give me optimum performance?
Thanks in advance
[All Answers]
The best way to ground the line is to use a ring connector and attach it to a bolt on the chassis or frame (make sure its sanded) - sometimes I'll actually run the ground back up to the front of the car and attach it to something in the engine bay if I can't find anything else to attach it to.
this sounds like your ground. i would sand a piece of your chasis and use ring terminal to ground it out. if you cant find this run a negative cable all the way up to the negative of your battery, this is always the best way to do it anyway. it also might be your rmote wire make sure that it is secure and working properly, sme with your positive lead
does this happen if you hit a bump in the road or if you turn up your music?
you may have the sub wired for to low of a resistance. and the amp is turning off to prevent harm to itself. also your power and ground wires need to be the same gauge.
