I Pod help please..playing through car stereo?
[Question]
My daughter has been told that if I buy a gizmo she can then play her i-pod through the cassette player in my car.
As I have only just stopped calling my cd player a gramophone this new technology is beyond me as you can imagine.
Any ideas what it is I need to buy?
Thanks in advance!

i have one, i bought it in the apple shop. its plugs into the ipod where the headphones go and then u just pop the cassette part into the stereo. works great!!!!
no
They sell them on ebay, I bought one for like $15. Try searching for Ipod cassette FM tuner. It's known as an FM tuner when it uses the stereo.
There are many items you can buy for this purpose.
To play through the cassette player, you can buy a tape that has a cord which plugs into the ipod.
You can also purchase docks and cords that plug into the cigarette lighter on your car.
Check bestbuy.com for examples of what will work for you. I would suggest going in to your local electronics store and letting them help you find exactly what you need.
there are two options to listen the ipod in your vehicle
auxiliary audio input, you control from the ipod

or ipod interface full control from your factory radio

But i need some input for the amp?
Help please i want to keep the amp under 250$
but i want them to shake my mirror off :}

Make sure to price cabinet(s) for them.
As far as cheap amps that will still rip the street up - you are probably going to want to hit some pawn shops.
Be careful - and if you aren't sure what you are looking at, try taking a friend that knows more about amps.
Always test it out before buying it - give it a good beating to make sure it isn't going to shut down when it gets warmed up.
well if you get that sub you'll need 2000rms....
easily over 250$
well, ur gunna need 2kw ... thats gunna cost much more then 250$... get a 1kw amp @ 2 ohm they still bang with 1k
U need an amp at 2000 rms watts....u can go to a flea market if they have any where ur at...i hought my 2000w amp for $180 at the flea market that i buy all of my stuff from....

subwoofer powering question?
[Question]
i have 2 15 inch 2 ohm kicker comp vr's , one kenwood kac 7204 2 channel amp and one alpine mrp m650 mono amp.
kenwood is rated at 500 x 1 while bridged and the alpine is rated at 600 x 1 , can i use the kenwood for one sub and the alpine for the other or will the difference in power do anything bad?
[All Answers]
no. you need to have power matched amplifiers that can be set up in a daisy-chain if you're going to do that. i would assume that your 15's are also in the same box . having different power levels on different subs can cause pre-mature failure of the subwoofer.
The subwoofers must be connected with the same wattage or they will sound distorted. As well as one amp being meant for speakers and the other subwoofers, you want to get two of the same amplifiers or a single amplifier to power both of these subs at their designated wattage. Make it a monoblock amplifier that is 1 ohm stable so you can spend less money and connect the subs together to sound great. For now, just use the kenwood because the alpine isn't 1 ohm stable, and putting two of these gives you 1 ohm so it would overheat the amp and blow. Put each sub on seperate channels on the kenwood, and you'll only be powering them at 250 watts each. I thought that these subs were dual 4 or dual 2 ohms? If so then its a whole 'nother story. Then you can power 4 ohms or 2 ohms on the alpine. good luck.

Is it possible to hook speakers that u buy from wal mart like 6 x 9's to a house surround sound radio?
[Question]
i have a phillips surround sound radio system in my room i wanna know is it possible to hook 6 x 9's or tweeters up to it?
[All Answers]
yes but the impedance of the car speakers will differ from those meant for home audio. the car speakers will seem to be louder (and will be) but you will be overdriving the home theater amplifier & i wouldn't recommend that. 4-ohm is the most common impedance for car audio speakers, while home theater uses 8 or 16-ohm speakers.
in response to the answer below: that would negate the point in having surround sound in the first place. you add multiple speakers to a single channel to get the proper imepdance (in which case you double the surface area of the speakers for a particular channel, still making it louder than the other channels, and spend twice as much on speakers)
yeah if u got ur manual for ur house surround find the impendance of each channel, if its 8ohm then your gunna want to wire 2 speakers to 1 channel in series (just make sure ur 6x9's are 4ohm each, in series its 8ohm).

is $100 a good deal for a 10 inch subwoofer and box?
[Question]
im getting a 10 inch alpine subwoofer from a friend for my 96 jeep cherokee. think its a good deal? it has an after market stereo but i dont think itll hook up. lemme know!
[All Answers]
If this is an Alpine type E or type S then it is not a good deal at all. If this is an Alpine type R or type X then with a box that is sealed or has the right HZ for the port, then you got yourself a banging deal. All you would need now is an amplifier that correctly fits and an installation with a deck or converting your stock deck in with certain modifications it would work, but I recommend you get a deck. If you have this sub in a box and then buy an amplifier with a deck and have all that installed you're only looking at $500 spent total and you'll be hitting decent bass. Good luck man.
I dont think it's a good deal at all because you can go to walmart and get pretty nice 12's and to boxes for around $130 or $140 but if you get something like that make sure you know what your doin when your hooking it up. Good Luck
