xm radio say"no signal" one day ,the next day it works . What gives?
[Question]
[All Answers]
You probably didn't have a signal one day.
Your antenna is probably failing. XM is garbage, I threw my unit out after a month because of the awful reception.
Since it is a satellite service, the problem could be weather related. Did you have stormy weather one day and sunny skies the next?
You are just out of the range of the satellites. You see, the satellites are in geostationary orbit above the world's equator, not right above your car. When you go through a bush or a forest, the connection between you and the satellite is lost. There has to be a constant connection with no interference for your XM radio to work.
If the problem persists, call the XM radio hot line at 1-800-XM-RADIO

what is the radio unlock code for a 03 grand am?
[Question]
the radio doesn't display loc it dosnt light up only the buttons light up
[All Answers]
The codes are different for every individual car. Look at your car's owner manual, it should be in there. If not then you have to take the radio out and copy down the serial number and call the dealership and provide them with that information including your VIN number. (if your radio is stock).
Here is how to unlock Delco Theftlock radio that displays "LOC"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you don't have to wait for a tech to respond, here is the 800 number, a dealer code and everything!
Taken from:
http://autoforumz.com/Pontiac-Help-u...pict40505.html
GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK CODE:
1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
need, so write 'em down.
2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press
the AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write 'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code displays again, just start over).
3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if
you're calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you hear him tell you to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 and hit the # key. He'll ask you for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press the * key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get additional 4 digit codes, but one should be sufficient.
4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
until you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press the AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or "secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the radio on, and your ready to roll.
There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4
and you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you receive the 4 digit code from the GM recorded message, just keep it in a safe place, because you can use that same code again and again should you have any more problems with it in the future. Good luck, and yes, it does work.

Great quality car audio system for a great price.?
[Question]
Im looking to get a nice audio system for my car, and Im looking around for some good help. I would like for the bass to be incredible, but also I want the music to be consistent in the quality, meaning that I dont want the words of the song or the song itself distorted due to too much bass.
I know that I will have to get new front and rear speakers to make the system sound good because they are just factory and just about blown lol
If someone could guide me to one of the best systems I could buy for a great price (preferably a low one. $500-1000 or so) then that would be great. I would like to have new front and rear speakers, 2 subs, an amp, and a new head unit.
My friend knows a bit about car audio systems, but I dont like to go through him since I know his background and its not a very honest one lol. Im just afraid that he will con me into paying more money than I have to for a shittier system.
Maybe an all in one package would be good, I dont know. Im new to this stuff and if anyone could help me out and educate me more on this subject then that would be wonderful!
If you find a system a little more than $1000, but an enormously better deal than what I could get under $1k, then post it because Im all up for ideas ;)
Thanks

How come the factory radio of my 03 Grand am wont work now that i reinstalled it?
[Question]
I went to put the factory radio back into my car and now it wont work and i have checked everything and now im stumped
the radio dosnt say loc on it, the screen wont light up but all of the buttons do
i had my aftermarket radio in the car then now im selling the car so i put the stock radio back in the car now it wont do anything
[All Answers]
I think that radio needs a security code to work. Check the web to see how to enter the code and make the stereo work again.
that is not your factory radio, if you install your old radio back it will turn on
