Who makes the best car audio speakers?
[Question]
[All Answers]
JL Audio
think more like, what speakers are the best of the top manufactureers. all top manufactureers have a top line.
Diamond Audio
That's a very very subjective question, car audio is ALL personal preference, meaning MY favorite sounding speaker is Digital Designs, but those are $600-800 for one driver... I currently run 2-15" Volfenhags and 2-12" JL w3's... These sound GREAT, I really suggest Volfenhag, but it's totally up to you, go to the local car audio stores and listen to some drivers. Just keep in mind all bass is, is air movement. So give some leeway on sound from car to car, enclosure to enclosure, you know? Feel free to I.M. or E-mail me on Yahoo, if you need help!
My vote would have to be Bose
unless you got alot of money...JL is very expensive...Alpine is really good

What is better 1 10 or 2 8s?
[Question]
im talking subs
[All Answers]
Hypothetically 2-8's they have more surface area and depending on the sub can change the SPL more rapidly (not typically enough to notice). It's more in the fact that what has the HIGHER DB rating, if you're looking for loud. If you're on a budget 1-10 (depending on the driver) will cost less in the long run.
id get one nice 10.
2 8's why? With 2 8's you have 16 inches of cone area and with 1 10 you only have 10 inches of cone area. The more cone area you have the more air you will move. The ten may hit a little deeper but not to much. To get good sound out of either it will depend on the box you use. Hope this helps.
it all depends on what model/brand subs yer lookin at.
2 cents - circular area would be calculated by radius squared times pi. therefore, (2)8" woofers would yield 32pi of area and (1)10" would yield 25 pi of area. So (2)8" would theoretically have 128% the SPL of (1)10".

auto accessories? Best answer 10 pts?
[Question]
can someone help me with choosing a good reasonable magazine to order automobile accessries like speakers, amps, radios etc from? I would like for them to have reasonable shipping also. I just opened up detail and a accessories business.
[All Answers]
Many popular car mags have parts for sale so they are good to use for speakers etc,if i was buying particular car parts i would first join an owners forum to the car i own and ask on there which where the best parts to use and the worst ones to use as well as the safest and worse places to buy parts from.
Crutchfield and get a free catalog from Parts Express.

[Question]
i have a 1990 acura integra 2 door gs. when i got the car the speakers were blown and the radio sucked so i went and got a 100 dollar head unit. now i need to find some quality speakers but i dont want to spend a sh** load on them. any suggestions?
im looking for specific brands and models that are good
[All Answers]
dual audio speakers a very nice, and they arent super expensive, go to ebay and type in dual audio speakers, they will bring up more brands than just dual but its a start
I just installed some kickers in my girls Ford Explorer, they sound really nice, nice crisp sound, but give out nice bass as far as components go... Volfenhag also makes some good speakers too, quality wise. Check them out www.volfenhagaudio.com Hope this helps, also check out Crutchfield.com

Can i replace my speakers in my car with subs?
[Question]
I have two 6 by 9 inch speakers in the back of my 2002 grand prix and i would like to replace them with two 10 inch subwoofers could i put the subs wherre the speakers are?
[All Answers]
Youll probably have to do some cutting or moding. I doubt ten inch subs would fit in the holes well....so ya you could..youd almost be better just to leave the 6x9s and put the 10s in a box in yer trunk.
agreed with the first answer with the cutting part but you would also need to make some kind of enclosure around the speaker too probably fiberglass would be your best bet.
Theres no way it would be a direct fit, it may not even fit at all seeing as how normal (non-shallow) subs are 2-3 times taller than door speakers. Youd be better off just throwing a cheap sub and amp in the back
