Should I buy 2 12" Kicker L7 Subwoofers or 2 12" Alpine Type R subwoofers?
[Question]
Looking for a new system and not sure exactly what to buy..
[All Answers]
i would go with the kickers. make sure you get amps big enough to power them though.
no way, go with the alpine type R, they sound alot cleaner and hit just as hard because it is not a square object trying to make a sound wave that is round, that is why i have never liked square subs.
get the square kicker subs, u will get more surface area and more bass
" Square subwoofers which were patented by Kicker are a relatively new technology and offer a better frequency response than a round subwoofer of the same size. For instance a 10” square solo baric subwoofer will have the same frequency response as a traditional 12” round sub. By going to a square design sub you gain about 20% more surface area." (quoted from hifisoundconnection.com)
if you listen to alot of rap definitely the kickers for spl but, as far as sq the type Rs are alot better.

i have a ford f150 and i got two 12' subs and a 1200 amp and a compacittor am i good as far a battery?
[Question]
[All Answers]
Yes.
I have two 12's and a 2000 watt amp with no capacitor.
In my little ford ranger. :)
You will be fine.
yea
you should be ok, but later down the road, i would buy an optima yellow top battery, made for heavy electrical loads, they r priced around $180
As long as it starts the car... thats all its there for, when your car is running, the alternator is powering things, if you want to play the system for long periods with the engine OFF, then you would benefit from an optima yellow top or comparable battery.

Best door speakers to get?
[Question]
I have 2 of these subs:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9157_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P3SD412+Shallow-mount.html
Powered by this amp:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10794_Hitron+HA-2000.2+-BLACK-.html
I have a pair of pioneer door speakers that i purchased from walmart and they are 10 times better than stock but i want new ones.
I am getting them from sonicelectronix.com because i have store credit from them.
Any suggestions on which ones i should get?
Thanks. :)
[All Answers]
you can check out kicker speakers, and hifonics. they have some loud door speakers. and subs too.
Well, putting new speakers in might not make a huge difference.
If you want to go to the next level, get a component set, and power them with an amp. An amp will make any speaker sound much better and louder.
I've always been impressed with Diamond Audio's stuff. They sound like components that cost twice as much. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16225_Diamond+Audio+S600a-07.html

Would I get a significant performance boost by amplifying my Apline S speakers?
[Question]
I have an apline x305 for the deck, and I have Apline S speakers. The fronts are the S 600c component system with 2 way speakers, and the rears are just the S 609 3 way 6 x 9's.
If I were to get an amplifier, it would be the JL G4500.
Car audio just recently became my new hobbie, and I have quite a bit to learn about it.
[All Answers]
Yes you most definately would. just a matter of wether u want to spend the money or not.
oh yes u would really notice a difference with that set up, alot louder and alot crisper. try to get a amp with 4 channels and that it has 2 rca inputs, one for the front speakers and one for the back, and hopefully ur deck has front speaker rca outputs and rear speaker rca outputs, then u can run them as 2 individual signals and have it sounding real nice, if u need more help with the concept then hit me back
You would notice a significant improvement by putting an amp on your factory speakers, as long as you don't try to run bass through them. Just make sure you have your high-pass cut-off around 80 to 100Hz.

My Tom Tom Gps Is Stuck On The Start Up Screen?
[Question]
Hello all.
I've had my Tom Tom Go 910 for just over 2 years and the other day it failed to boot. On power up I get a screen with 2 red hands and the TomTom sound plays.
Then it goes to a screen with a white gps and puke green background with a white border. The top right corner has "go 910".
Where it stays. The power button has no effect, all I can do is unplug it and wait for the battery to run out or reset it (but the same thing happens again)
If I try powering it while plugged into my PC:
The PC reports that a USB device has malfunctioned and indeed I cannot see the 910 as a device. The screen go to the white gps screen
I never updated it at all
Any ideas?
Please help
Thanks
[All Answers]
Take and hit the reset button on the bottom of the gps most of the time this happens when you hook up the gps to the computer why i dont know i have the same problem then turn back on on tap the sreen a few times look for i agree at the bottom of the screen then you are good to go tell the next time
if you could get the updates, you would maybe clear up the problem, but if its still under warrenty, u should take it back, and tell them to re-install the software, or to give you a new one
