did i buy a STOLEN gps?!?!?!?!?
[Question]
Ok, I bought a brand new still in the package, garmin gps at a flea market for 50$. when I saw the deal, I immediately bought it, and felt like I found a great deal. But after telling a few people, they suggested the probability of it being stolen is very high. This concerns me, I havent turned it on yet, Ive considered going back to return it, but it was a flea market so that will be almost impossible. It has the box and all, so if it was indeed stolen it would have been from a store or something, cuz they wouldnt have the box if it was stolen from a car on the street. Ive thought about just going to the police and saying hi is this stolen, (i dont know if people even do that and if it is stolen, will they think of me as a suspect or something?) but I also dont want to be out 50 bucks either. Any help? can I get in trouble if Im pulled over and they check it for some reason if it is stolen?

You really have no way to be sure.
jeeze mr guilty fire it up and see if it works/maybe junk/if it works use and dont worry
No cop is going to ask about your gps, unless it looks like a police radar detector, other wise I don't think it has a tracking number well mine doesn't.
Just keep using it. If it is stolen, then yes you'll be out of $50
Most likely not stolen if it came with packaging, unless was stolen from the store.
Try and activate it, if it comes up that it is stolen or pre-owned it will tell you and you wont get tracked down by the police.
Like when it comes to stolen cell phones and such, the person who goes in to reactivate it wont get in trouble for it because they most likely did not know it was stolen. They may ask for it back, But I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble for it.
Just because they're in a box doesn't mean they aren't stolen. It might have been stolen from a store, or it might have been stolen from someone's car before they had a chance to install it. Maybe they left it on the seat, some thief saw it, broke in, and stole it thinking he could sell it.
Then again, why sell it for just $50? Most likely, it's not stolen. Maybe the original owner just wanted to sell it off. Maybe they got a new car that has OnStar and didn't need it anymore. If you want to check into it, you can go to the authorities and give them the serial number. If the person it was stolen from reported it stolen, and gave the serial number, that's the only way you can find out. Otherwise, they are virtually impossible to trace.
There is a news article about how thieves are targeting GPS systems in vehicles, stealing them, and using them to burglarize homes. It's possible that it could have been stolen, but in this case, I think unlikely.

Which one is a better box?
[Question]
for a subwoffer bandpass box or port box?
[All Answers]
depends how much power your pushing for one sub i recommend a sealed and for more power a vented pvc is the best like with the pvc pipe in the center gives it a loud echo
Ported!
Bandpass boxes are complicated. They are like a sealed and ported box in one. The back of the sub is in a sealed chamber, and the front is in a ported chamber. These boxes have HIGH efficiency, but are very hard to design and tune correctly for good sound.
Pre-fab bandpass boxes that you will find in the store are VERY poorly designed. They are tuned high to sound LOUD with rap, and not sound good with much else. We used to call them "one note wonders" because every note is the same crappy sound.
Go with a well designed and tuned ported box.
If you have a pair of low-powered subs and only listen to boomy rap and dont listen to sound quality, bandpass box will please you. However, I never recommend them since a well designed and tuned ported box can be LOUD and sound excellent.
Ported all the way. I'd suggest that if you can't custom build, that you go with a Fierce Audio dual slot-ported enclosure from Best Buy. I have one of those, and it sounds amazing. Hits every note accurately, and powerfully.

Why won't my subwoofer hit hard anymore?
[Question]
I was driving today and my bass usually hits hard enough to where my whole trunk rattles and all of a sudden it just barely rattles. I checked all my wires and fuses and everythings fine and the subs not blown at least I don't think cause it still hits. can anyone help?
I have a 120w soundstream amp
an a rocksford p1 12" sub
[All Answers]
this is a blessing....dont question it.
check your rca's auxiliary jacks on your amp jiggle it and see if it its harder after you mess with it. and youll need to have this problem repaaired
Most likely an issue with your amplifier.

need to know if this amp can power this subwoofer?
[Question]
I have a http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9236_Pioneer+Premier+TS-W2501D2.html
and need to know if this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6198_Power+Acoustik+LT980-2.html
can power it
[All Answers]
Yes, but not very well! Power acoustik is a very low quality cheap flea market brand. Dont power that nice sub with a cheap crap amp!
Those amps are overrated, and dont make their claimed power. Look for an amp that makes 600-800 watts RMS. And the amp has to make that power at either 1 ohm (for a monoblock amp) or 4 ohms (for a 2 channel amp).
yes, just wire the voice coils in series to get a 4 ohm mono load. however the P.A. amplifiers are not very good quality.
Yes, it can. But not to it's full potential. A much b
