V = I × R or I = V/R
or R = V/I
V= voltage
I= current
R= resistance
V = I x R
V=IR
Volt = Current x Resistance
I = V over R
watts divided by amps=ohms
ohms X amps = watts
watts divided by ohms=amps
Current (Amps) = Voltage (Volts) divided by Resistance (Ohms)
and that can be rearranged algebraically to find V or R
V=IR

V = I x R

What should I look for when I go to buy a (cheap) sat nav for my car?
[Question]
What makes a good one? What is a handy feature to look out for? What should I avoid?
Have never had one before so any tips would be really appreciated!
[All Answers]
Garmin are good.
Look at a few and decide which features you need then avoid paying extra for things you don't need.
e.g. MP3 is a waste if you have one in the car already as is hands free bluetooth. This could save well over £100.
Some may require subscriptions to traffic reports and may be best avoided.
Halfords have a few to look at but are not always the cheapest place to buy.
as above used a 70 quid one ( purchased last year ) last week and it was good , worked well , they are all pretty much the same , I dont think you'll find any cheap ones they are all quite reputable .
Cheap or less expensive? I got a used SONY off E bay for less than a hundred delivered to the door. I have used this daily in my car, my speedometer does not work so the GPS gives updates every second on speed, direction, plots courses, trips, it has all kinds of way points. Lots of people want one, and never use them. It is nice to know which direction, speed, time, all them time telling you to turn,,estimated time of arrival.
One of the best features to get is safety and speed camera alerts but try to find one that does free updates -not many do now.
Avoid Panasonic, so bad they do not sell or support them now and there are still a few out there and look ok until you try to use them. i took one I bought back for a refund.
If you do not already have something, one with bluetooth to enable use of your phone is useful I find.
If you buy second hand you will find that the maps and camera databases could be out of date.
Get one with full postcode searching if that is what you might use it for.
Some have a traffic update system - it is poor and next to useless i have found.

$1200 too much for amps and subs?
[Question]
A guy is selling 2 kicker solobaric l7 15s and two Alpine amps: an MRV-F407 and an MRV-1507. The Kickers are the dual 4-ohms. 1200 seems a little much for me as the amps are no longer in production and the 1507 is only rated for 900 watts. Whats a good price to pay for this?
[All Answers]
buy it its a good deal...
I say it's to much especially for being used equipment.
For $300 more you can get two brand new subs and two brand new rockford fosgate amps.
Kicker 08S15L74 $272 each & Free Shipping
http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/08s15l74.aspx
Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bd $491 each & Free Shipping
http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/t1500-1bd.aspx
Then wire each sub in parallel for a 2ohm load, then put one sub on each amp.
See here how to wire the subs and use option 1.
http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=42
wel for the kicker l7 15' i would be 500 for both..1 they are used...2 they are solo barics....hate how they sound..but thats personal perfernce.
For those amps...i would not even buy them. For one their used and 900 rms? you can buy a amp that pushes out 3k for 900 dollars...and some decent subs for 500.

I just Bought a Fusion Sub/Amp for my car 2 days ago, Today my battery was Dead, Whats the Problem?
[Question]
I have never had any problems with my car before, it is a 96 camry 2 door, it could just be an old battery but i havent checked it yet( i know its at least 2 years old). I know that battery will drain if the engine isnt on while im listening but i havent done that, it should be all off the alternator, does anyone have advice?
i dont want to waste money on a new battery just to have it drain fast again, i like the second answer but is there anything else i can do?
[All Answers]
to know what is going on first
1> start the car
2>take the positive cable off of your battery.
3>If the car engine dies your alternator is bad.
But...there's a possibility that you don't have your remote wire connected to your amplifier.
id just go to walmart and get a new battery for $50. old batterys cant support a high watt system. same thing happened to me. get a new battery and in the future id consider getting a 1 farad capacitor, (they are around $80-$120) beacause your system will now run from the capacitor instead of straight from the battery.
Do NOT waste your money on a capacitor. "Your system will run on the capacitor instead of the battery" is completely wrong. Disregard the answer above. Caps do not supply any power, they simply try to regulate the voltage. Id start with a new battery. If the problem isnt fixed, then its probably your alternator.
