Should I Buy a Moped or Bass Amp?
[Question]
I have been saving up for a while and recieved a lot of money for my birthday. I now have enough to either pay towards a moped and excessories etc or a good high wattage Bass Amp and pedal.
Im stuck deciding between the two.
The moped would be really handy because I live in the coutry side and it's very difficult to access places where i am and it may improve my socialising.
The Bass Amp would be good because I've wanted one for a while and I'm in a band and it would be good for provte giging etc and to hear myself over the others as my previous amp is small.
It's just to see opinions! What do you think?
Thanks for answering! ;)

If you want to get around places then the moped is the best option, sitting on a Bass amp isn't going to go anywhere fast. If you don't like your neighbours and you have access to regular lifts then go for the Bass Amp.
Remember that if you go for the Moped option there are going to ongoing costs involved.
Smiles, if you live in the rurals, get mobile, been there and worse, consider a small car, then you can carry axe amp and both of you stay dry, forget the scooter mate. O.
cant ride or drive a bass amp and get anywhere so get a moped
well if your in a band do you really want to be seen on a moped? ive heard this saying before. mopeds are like fat chicks. fun to ride but you dont wanna be seen on one....thats my answer.
Get the moped. It can lead to more money by allowing you to be mobile and travel back and forth to work of any sort. You then could save more money and eventually get your bass amp too.
The moped will get you where you are going physically, but perhaps the bass amp will get you to where you want to be careerwise. So, you can sit on the moped and go anywhere or you can stand in front of the amp and perhaps go places.

what kind of subs should i get?
[Question]
i mainly listen to rock. with a tad bit of rap. i want quite a bit of bass, but at the same time i dont want to blow my windows out. and it also has to be loud. any idea what size to get? im only wanting to put 1 in.

Here are some hints
Italian
Roast beef
Tuna
12" alpine type R
Get a 12" subwoofer. It will have the all around performance you need. Be sure you to tell your enclosure builder you are looking for "Flat Response", that way it will sound good with a variety of music.
It would depend on your budget more than anything. But, If I were going for the same thing, I would run a JL Audio 12w3v3-2 off of a Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-1 or a JL Audio G1300.

I need to know this please?
[Question]
is Hifonics a good amp brand for inside speakers?..also could u tell me why or why not. please and thank you.
[All Answers]
HiFonics amps are not good anymore. The old school amps (Series VIII and earlier) were good. Maxxsonics bought them at that time, and started using cheap components in them. Now they don't make rated power. They might be ok for speakers, but not subs.
i follow what he said, they went to hell after maxxsonics bought them, man the old school ones were beasts, the new school belong in walmart lol
Hifonics makes good all around products. I currently have a Hifonics setup in my car right now, and it is crazy. Maxxsonics is often blamed for faulty manufacturing, when actually there was a string of bad boards going around. There are about three amplifier board manufactures out there, four if you count Boss who makes their own boards in house. I know we all remember the Rockford Fosgate string of recalls. But long story short Hifonics makes ok inside speakers.

Sub just stops playing when I turn it up.?
[Question]
If any other information is needed please ask I want to get this solved as soon as possible.
When i start playing my music and turn it up my sub just cuts out and stops playing. My friend told me to turn everything down on the amp so I did but then the sub is so low that there is no point in keeping it in there. The sub is a Kicker Solo Baric L7 2 ohm DVC and the amp is only giving out 700 watts so i know I'm not overpowering it. What would be causing the sub to cut out and is there anyway to repair it or should i just get a new sub.
[All Answers]
How is the sub wired? What model amp do you have?
If the voice coils are wired in parallel, to a 1 ohm load, and the amp isn't stable at 1 ohm, that will cause this problem.
When it cuts out it often means that you dont have enough power to push it at that high of a volume, or it could be that your Amp is going into thermal mode or protect mode.
its not the sub doing it, its the amp called clipping. you are drawing to much power from your amp, because you have your subs hooked up in a way that makes the amp run in an ohm load that its not stable for. i bet after it cuts off you have to shut your deck off and turn it back on. you just need to look in your amps manual to see the correct way to hook it up, or give me the model of amp and subs you have and i can tell you mainly i would need to know rms and ohm loads you it would be best to just give me model number and brand for amp
