I am going to get this subwoofer but need help?
[Question]
http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-Shallow-Pre-Loaded-Enclosure/dp/B001CBWLDK
here ˆs the link for the subwoofer im going to get, its pre-loaded, now it says its meant to be standing up, but will it hurt anything if i have it laying down with the subwoofer facing up? i have a ford f-150 2000 extended cab and am going to put it under the seat.

honestly, your best results are going to come from a custom box, down-firing the sub, but keeping the sub off the floor. We've pointed them every direction you can and down-fire under the sear seems to be the best way to go...
No Worries.
Consult your mechanics who is fixing your car.
I suspect it would not make any difference.
You can lay it down.
Dont block any ports if it has one.
It wont make any difference. I promise u.
No, it will not hurt anything what so ever. Leave it to amazon.
It will be OK.
it wont do a thing it will hit hard and loud rockford fosgate is the best i have two 12 p2 and port slot box and its loud

Is there such a thing as a Car CD Player that plugs into an existing radio?
[Question]
So, I inherited a 1998 Ford Taurus from my mom. The problem is that it has a radio and a Tape player. No CD player. I'm told to put in a new car stereo the dash will have to be replaced along with the stereo. So I'm wondering if there's an easier solution, like a Cd Player that plugs into the cigarette lighter or something else. I miss my CD's.
[All Answers]
You can buy an adapter that allows a cd to be played through a cassette player. You would plug the adapter into a portable cd player and put the end that looks like a tape in the radio.
U can get an adapter at wall mart that has a tape on one end and plugs into a portable cd player with on the other. That's what i used until i decided to buy a head unit.
One option is a portable cd player with a cassete adaptor.
Just pop the cassette in and connect the wire to the headphone port on the player.
A better solution it buy a new head unit... Get a cheap one, like 50 dollars and a wiring harness Z(should come with it). It's really easy to install and will sound better then the cassette route. Forgot to mention you need a console adapter, you will spend around $65 total.
Yes there are adapters that plug into the tape deck and play thru the tape system from a personal CD player for less than $50, probably <$20.

Did I blow a fuse in my car?
[Question]
A couple of weeks ago I was removing my subs from my 2008 Honda fit and I accidentally crossed the two wires going into the amp. Now my stock head unit will not turn on at all, is it just a fuse or possibly something more serious? I'm looking to sell the car soon so I need to get this fixed asap.
[All Answers]
More than likely it is the fuse. I've done the same thing before. But the last time it happened it fried my head unit. Toooo many watts.
It's the fuse. No big deal, when you take the fuse cover off they will be labeled, just replace with the same amperage fuse and you will be good to go.
check your car fuse, then the amp fuse also. no biggie.

good luck.
i did the exact same thing and it just blew the fuse just check it and you can sell it but why thats an awsome car???/
Its possible you did blow the fuse. all you need to do is find the fuse on the unit-deck and pull it out and check.not hard

What size cable wire should I use for an amp that is 400 watts RMS, 700 peak, and a 1.5 farad capacitor?
[Question]
Ok, here is my setup:
Directed 750d amplifier
Directed Studio 3128 12" subwoofer
Power Acoustic 1.5 farad capacitor
The amp's manual says that the minimum is 8 gauge, but I still don't know if I need more because of the capacitor. Does that make a difference?
[All Answers]
as big as you can run threw the car,the bigger the better.
I have 8 gauge wire. That's power and ground. But im pushing a few more watts than that. No matter what u decided be sure that your amps are getting enough power.
Go with 4gauge for ground and power that is what you need and keep your rca wires away from power wire to prvent noise.
You will be fine with 8 gauge wireing. You do not need the cap at all though, that was a total waste of money. I am running a 900.4 amp 450 watts rms and a 5500/1 3200 watts rms, I have no cap what so ever. I did however have to do the big 3 upgrade, but no cap. Besides for running 400 watts rms the biggest cap that you would realisticly really have is a 0.5 farad cap, nothing more. Rule of thumb is 1.0 farad for every 1000 watts rms, or 0.5 farad for every 500 watts rms. Which is why you should only have a 0.5 farad cap. But in all reality you do not need a cap, just a waste of money. A cap is not going to stop your headlights from dimming ever, that you need to do the big 3 upgrade. The cap is not a magical device. If your having your lights dim on you adding a cap is going to add another strain on your already over taxed electrical system. Can not provide enough electrical power for everything your running now, throw a cap in there. How is the electrical system going to charge the cap? By not sending proper electrical power to other devices that you may need to have running.
8 gauge will be fine. the cap has no influence on what size power cable you should use. I wouldn't go smaller than 8 in case you decide to change to a bigger amp.

What size amp do i need?
[Question]
I have two 12" Alpine Type R (dual 2 ohms) subs, which are 500 rms, and 1500 max each. I have no idea what size amp I need to get them going. Help?????
[All Answers]
1 channel that puts out 1000 watts rms @ 1 ohm stable. or 2 channels that put out 500 watts rms @ 2 ohms. Hope that helped.
alpine mrd-m1000 would be perfect thats the setup my girlfriends got, i got 3 15" type rs in my car!badass
Dude a 1,000 watt amp should do it. It would push them. But if you really want them to thump get an amp that will run approx. 2/3 there max and bridge them.
You need an amp rated at 1000x1@2-ohms. The Alpine the one guy said or a Kicker ZX1000.1 would be good.
Yeah any amp that is 1000rms at the right load. The ZX1000.1 or the Alpine 1000rms amp are great choices.
