After having a stereo and amp installed in my car, I hear a hum when the volume is down low, why is this?
[Question]
[All Answers]
its the power! haha But really it has to do with the wiring that was used. Usually the thicker more expensive wiring you really can't hear anything.
Too much power coming from your amp, or an AUX imput like a ipod cable connected with nothing plugged into it.
perhaps its the bass rumble of the song, or a technical issue. have a professional take a look at it.
mabye it always makes a noise but you can't hear it when the volume is high ? i don't know cos i've never experienced this.
If you have cheap wiring or to much power it will buzz. If it does that when its low, turn it up.
They installed it? That blows! I did that with my own once. he problem was I ran all the cables on one side so there was frequency pick up. Go back and tell them to fix that ish!
This could be a couple of things. The most likely is that the wiring is poorly insulated or there is a connection somewhere where the background charge in the car is being picked up giving a low humming sound as a result. it's sort of like the static you see on an antenna TV not tuned to a specific channel.
It could also mean, however, that you're amp is sending out an interfering signal of some sort. But again, that would probably be from a bad connection somewhere.
In the worse case scenario it could also mean that one of your speakers is blown, but I doubt that.
Upgrade to better audio cabling and have the guys at the shop check the connections, that sort of mistake is just amateurish in my opinion.

Have you heard a 10' sub and a 12' sub?
[Question]
which one sounds and feels better in your opinion?
[All Answers]
the 10 for me
I personally prefer the 12" size subwoofer, moves more than tha a 10". Me best recommedation is you go to a retail store and demo the subs yourself with you own source of music. Stay with name brands like JL, JBL, Infinity, Alpine, MTX, and Boston the have better quality and reliability than off brands. Don't get Watts as the prime factor for a subwoofer, same goes for power amp and stay with name brands. Some off brands might not be in the market long the way this economy is going. Your ears are the final judge, and the one going to be listening to it for a long time.
Subs work on moving the air around so if u have a smaller car go with the 10'' it will sound a lot better then the 12''.

[Question]

follow the directions that came with it

this is what you should need!
hope it helps
Follow the direction that came with the item you purchase. Hope you purchased an extended warranty for your Sony amp. Try using your system without the capacitor first, if it is dimming your lights alot then use the capacitor, if not return it.

Car remote attached to key?
[Question]
I have a 2002 volvo s60 and was wondering could I get a remote and key combination....if so where....and how much
[All Answers]
Yeah, emails me, I'll sell you one
im not really sure that is the safest thing to do.
what if someone gets a hold of your key and now has a way into your house.
sure, you will change the lock. but is that seriously a risk you are willing to take?
go to your car dealer and ask
