why is my car amp turning off as soon as the bass comes in on a song?? pleas help!!!?
[Question]
1400 watt amp
Two 300 watt 10" sub woofer
1200 watt amp wires
It will start off good but once a song starts, the green protection light on the side off the amp turns red and then stops working. when i turn my car off and turn it back on it does the same thing.

Nothing that I can suggest, but take it into a shop.
I hope that you are not one of those types of people who turn their sound system to the max, and sit and wait at traffic lights with this sound system on. Thump thump. I just hope you are not, and use your sound system responsibly. If you wonder why I am saying this then just email me
probobly because you have it cranked to high and its turning off as a safty thing to make sure it doesnt blow
The quality of you amp might be bad. It sounds like it can’t support the watts being drained out of it.
i had the same problem with my amp and all i did was find a better place to put the ground and check the posative connection. the reason why it is shutting off when your bass comes on is that you have a bad connection to either the ground or the posative and it is not getting enough power
Theres a few options here...
#1 Your gain is up way to high and your amp is going into protect to keep it from clipping and blowing
#2 Your connections to the amp arent strong... check your ground and other connections to make sure they are secure...
#3 you alternator is having some problems and working too hard and there isnt enough voltage to the amp to make it work correctly "aka voltage issue"
to test that one you need to check the voltage going to the amp it should be between 12.5 - 15 volts you need a volt meter for that
I had this problem. The amp is blown.
I agree with Patrick.

My car don't have a AUX port. How can I play songs from my IPOD?

idk but there should be a wire that u can connect it in ur car look around!
yea you plug it in to your ciggerette lighter and it connects to you fm
Yeah i have one and they are not that great. You get a lot of interference and static with them. They do make mp3/i pod adapters that you have wired in that work much better and you get no interference like you will with the FM adapter
you can tap a wire in the back, but its a pain to find and if your not that good at wiring, its not real easy.
do you have a cassette player? If so there's something you can buy to put into cassette player and plug your IPOD in. If you don't..... go out n buy a radio with a AUX in. they're a hundred bucks.
You have 3 options. One is if you have a cassette player in your radio. The cassette tape converter goes into the cassette player in your radio. There is a wire that is connected to the tape. Plug this wire into your ipod. Option two is to get a fm transmitter. It plugs into the lighter plug and the wire plugs into your ipod. It transmits the ipod song over an available/open radio station on the FM band. The third option is to get a fm modulator. It mounts between the radio and the antenna. This item will need 12 volt power. You take the wire and plug it into your ipod. Turn on the power swith to the modulator and you have either radio OR ipod playing through the fm modulator. You can get the fm modulater at Cruchfield. Best of luck.

Which is better for my car.?
[Question]
I have a 06 Impala. And my quetion is which system should I get for my car.? I already have an In-Dash with Pioneer speakers. I was looking at two 12's but I dont want my trunk to rattle. And how many watts for an amp would you recomend to go with the subs.? Thanks
[All Answers]
just put 1 alpine type s in there and you will have plenty of bass and your trunk won't rattle to much.
I got 2-12's type r in my car but its way to much power ..I'll say a type S should be just fine and affordable.
If you want subwoofers, than i would go with a MTX TC8001 amp and 2 Kicker CVR 102 Subwoofers. Go on http://www.crutchfield.com/ these ppl can help you with anything..hope that helps
The real question isn't what's better for your car, it's what is better for your musical tastes and expectations? If you have any sort of power, you'll probably have to deal with some degree of sound deadening to quiet any rattling.
To give you a nice amount of bass to fill out an otherwise modest system like a few aftermarket speakers running off the head unit, not otherwise amped, I would stick with 300-500 watts for the sub amp; if you get too much bass, you'll have an imbalanced system which is more high school kid trying to show off than an actual quality listening experience.
Now, if you want a solid, tight, clean hitting bass, you'll want one or two 10s in sealed boxes. If you really want the deeper, louder, boomier bass, you may want 12s in a ported box. What are you looking to do here?
Personally, I have a single 10" sub running in a sealed box off 500 watts, and it perfectly complements the minimally amped 6 speaker system. People often assume they need two 12s to get any bass, and that's just not accurate.
If you want more advice, message me your budget and what you're looking to get out of this system, and I can give you some ideas of good products for you.
how much power you need depends on the subwoofers you decide to use. If you get two 300 watt subwoofers, then you would want an amp that puts out 600 watts.
as for trunk rattling, you can't really determine how much your trunk will rattle until you install what you plan to use into your car. if it sounds really bad, then you can put some sound deadener like dynamat.
really it doesn't take much to make a trunk rattle. but its not always too bad. its usually the license plate that sounds the worst.

All amps rms output should match the rms of the speaker or speakers they will be driving or at least over by
25 %
Example
SEALED
SUB 500 RMS @ 4 0hm = AMP 500 RMS 4 0hm
2 SUBS 500 RMS 4 0hm =1000 RMS @ 2 ohm = AMP 1000 RMS @ 2 ohm
you need to make sure the subs are the same type and wattage MUST MATCH
With SUBS you need to take into Account that your sub box can change the WATTAGE
needed to run your speaker as a sealed box with a sub 100w = 100w but the
100w sub in a ported box could need 200w depending on port size and box Litres/Qts
Use the factory recommended amp for you sub
PS- IF YOU FACE THE SUBS INTO THE CABIN TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR YOU WILL GET LESS BOOT RATTLE AND A SLIGHT DROP IN BASS BUT A GAIN IN QUALITY

Do I need an amp for my door speakers?
[Question]
I am gonna have 4 6 by 9 speakers running over 2 12" kicker l5's. So will I need an amp to even hear the speakers over the sub?
[All Answers]
no you don't need an amp you should be able to hear the speakers.
You'll have an unbalanced system; heavy bass, weak mid and high level sound. However, bass typically doesn't run constantly, so it's not like you wouldn't be able to hear the speakers most of the time. Regardless, I think for a reasonably balanced system you'd want to amp the door speakers, depending on the 6x9s you've got maybe something like a 75x4 amp would be plenty.
no, all the amp would really do is obviously amplify you speakers but if it has a crossover in it it would take all the bass out of the 6X9's, which isn't a bad thing if you have subs
nah, unless you put them in as aftermarket, then you might, otherwise you'll blow your factory amp easily. I have seen it happen so many times. If everything is factory, don't worry about it. if its aftermarket, get another amp.
if you have those subwoofer hooked up to the right amount of power you will.
without an amp for those speakers, you'll hear the bass from your subwoofers, and ou may hear some of the melody of your songs, but you won't hear the words very well. you'll have to turn the speakers up loud to keep up with the output of the subwoofers, and that will distort the music playing from them. so not only will it not be that loud, but it will sound bad.
My one 15" mojo outpowered my old speakers. the bass was great, but you couldn't hear the words, and if you could it was hard to understand. you'll need an amp to increase the volume of your speakers without compromising the sound quality.
you'll be muchhappier with your system if you get an amp for them, then you will be without an amp.

2000 RMS at 1 ohm. Cheap Budget please help?

There are a few others on ebay, as well as other places I would stay away from Pyle, Legacy, and Lanzar. just look for 4000 or 5000 watt amps and the rms should be close to 2000 while being cheaper.
your best bet of getting anything close to 2000 watts for 300 dollars or less is with hifonics.
I have a bxi2006 that i got off of ebay for around 225-250 a couple years ago, and its rated for 2000 watts at 1 ohm. I haven't benchmarked it or anything, but I have blown other subwoofers with it that couldn't handle the power it put out. so I'm convinced (and my friends are too) that it puts out 2000 watts or close to it.
avoid pyle, and legacy, and all those other crap brands. hifonics doesn't advertise "max" ratings. only rms ratings. I've had mine for a couple years now with no problem, and you won't find another amp as powerful as a hifonics one for the same price.
