My car wont turn over but i have power (electricity)?
[Question]
Ok, i have a 96 camry and i was driving on the freeway when the car just shut off without warning, i just did a compete tune up on it last week (plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel pump/filter, oil) and it has a new battery. Does anyone know what could be wrong. I thought it might be the starter but would that cause the car to shut off while driving. The cars electricity works just fine and when i try to start the car it doesnt turn over, it doesnt even try to turn over it just makes a quiet humming noise

probably the alternator if it died on u driving, u need to try to jump it and put a volt meter on it if it reads 12, its the alternator if its around 14 its something else.
The starter is broken.need to be changed
It could be the timing belt broke while you were driving.I had this happen a few years ago.
I have had a few cars that did this. It's really annoying! Sorry that it's happening to you. In every case, it turned out to be the Alternator. Yours may have a lifetime warranty, so you may be able to get it replaced for free (+ time & labor). If not, your mechanic should be able to get you a rebuilt one for about $80.00. Don't let them charge you more than $100....they'd be ripping you off.
The car just shuts off after 10 or 15 minutes of driving. Same thing happened to me. It was a faulty oxygen sensor. It thinks there is a problem and sends a message to the computer to shut the engine down. Usually after the engine has cooled down after 10 minutes the car can be started again.
Also I agree with John , it could be the timing belt.
i agree, if the car shutoff it was probably the alternator, as when the car is on, that is the cars powerplant

how do i wire my amp to where it turns off when i turn off my truck off and turn on when i turn my truck on?
[Question]
I have a system in my truck, and the amp is staying on when i turn off my truck, causing my battery to die. how do i wire my amp to prevent this from happening?
[All Answers]
There should be a swicth on the amp to swicth to shutting it down or find the instructions. We as men hate instructions.
There should have been instructions on where to connect the power wire for it. Check the schematics for the truck to see where the radio power is... or maybe something else that powers off with the key off. Some cars will have a lighter that powers off with the key (but some don't)... some without a lighter with have the lighter power wire hanging loose behind the dash.
Try hooking up the remote sensor wire. Its usually blue and runs from the Amp to the back of the radio. When this is hooked up, the amp will power down once the car stereo does.
you need to run a wire from the switch on the back of the amp to behind the radio should be a place to wire it to

are pyle speakers or amps any good? i see they cost very little?
[Question]
[All Answers]
u get exactly what u pay for always remember that
Nope, they are cheap in quality and sound better than stock speakers but you can do alot better
If you are serious about your car sound, i wouldnt suggest this brand. . . .If they are for your grandmother or someone who isnt going to expect alot from the speakers, then I wouldnt see this brand being a problem.
I have a pyle 4 channel amp with 2 Alpine Type's Rs attached to it, it sounded good, not bad as you think, my friend used to have one kicker L7 15' woofer if sound very good.

Car speakers and sub? 10-points?
[Question]
In Canada, Ontario
-what is the best high quality speaker brand?
-what is the decent quality speaker brand?
-what is the meaning of ported and non ported?
any websites you have with this info you can post in your answer thx.
[All Answers]
check crutchfield .com they have alot of articles about subs speakesr and the best ways to hook them up. When you get to the page just look for a lil button that says learn click there click on what you want to learn and there should be an article.
hope it helps.
Try the forum board on this website for starters... http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubbthreads.php
Lots of great information out there in forums... it just takes a lot of time and dedication to get any info you're looking for. And one common theme you'll see on these forum boards regarding the "best quality" is that there is no ONE BEST speaker/sub brand... everybody has their own opinions and there's no ONE speaker/sub for everyone.
For example, there are subs designed for all sound quality (SQ), there are some designed for just loud bass (SPL) and there are some that has best of both worlds (SQL). As for speakers, it also depends on the type of music you listen to (rap vs. rock vs. jazz) that makes a huge difference and whether you like the sounds of hard tweeters vs. soft tweeters.
And as you probably already know, there are tons of different brands out there and not ONE BRAND has the best quality in all the aspects I just mentioned.
As for ported vs. non-portd (sealed)... in simple terms, a sealed box will give you "punchy" bass which has higher SQ, but less SPL (good for bass drums, bass guitar type of songs). A ported box on the other hand is more "boomy"... meaning it slightly lacks SQ, but has a lot more SPL (more for rap and hip hop type of bass). And since it's ported, you actually get almost twice as much bass than a sealed box (so more bang for your buck if you ask me).
High End - The speakers that win the most competitions year in and year out are the high end Kicker stuff. I swear by them. They've got a great punch to them and nice range of sound.
Mid-Priced Stuff - I'm partial to Rockford Fosgate (Although my friends like MTX stuff)
Ported: Means there's airflow that is allowed through the box. This is good if you want the best bass, but can cause your subs to Super-Extend and blow.
Non-ported means the box is sealed and is usually going to give you a longer lasting sub but less bass (although if done properly with a good box they can pump out alot of DB's)
Just remember QUALITY is much more important then QUANTITY when it comes to subs.
wow... I answer a lot of your questions lately...

best amp to run 2 12" kicker L7s for around 300 bucks?
[Question]
they're 750 rms a piece...want something good but not wanting to spending much more than 300..and will a 1 farad cap be enough for this?
[All Answers]
on ebay u can usually get a kicker zx 1000.1 for about 350 bucks, itll put out 500x2 at 2ohms, then u can keep it all kicker, or pay about 400 bucks on ebay and get two 750.1 kickers if u wanna max out ur subs.
kicker zx1500.1
that's a lot of power...1500 watts rms total....and ummm thats what u need an amp that sends 1500 watts rms or less..if you go any higher than that u run the risk of blowing your subs...and you don't need a cap....a cap doesn't do anything....oh yeah it does...it adds strain to the alternator...you might even need a bigger alternator....like I said before 1500 watts rms is a lot of power and the stock alternator won't be able to handle that much power...
Amp Brand Names:
RockFord Fosgate
Alpine
MTX
Pioneer
If you want a good amp for a low price....I recommend Boss Audio...
I owned a Boss amp for over a year...I then sold it to a friend...he's had it for about 3 or 4 months...I never had a problem with that amp...he's never had a problem with that amp...
