whats better 6x9 speakers or 6 and a half inch speakers for true stereo sound?
[Question]
[Best Answer]If we're talking about installing these in the rear deck -- there really is no right or wrong answer.
Proper sound staging should be front-focused. Your rear speakers are there for rear-fill, they're not there to be the focal point of your system. With the direction the sound waves have to travel from your rear speakers - by the time you hear it, it's traveled in so many directions that it really doesn't matter if it was an oval or round speaker source whatsoever.
[All Answers]
There is no clear answer. For example. Boston 6 1/2's are better than Pioneer 6x9's, but Pioneer 6x9's are better than Sony 6 1/2's.
It depends on brand and model.
Typically, you'll get a little better bass out of round speakers versus oval ones, but again, this cannot be the sole factor in judging.
6x9 is always better atleast in my opinion.. boston acoustics all the way!
component speakers or coaxials? if youre talking about coaxials, then it depends on the type of sound you are after. 6x9s are often used in place of a sub because they offer deep base due to their extra size. particularly when run off an amp. if you have a sub connected 6 and a halves or even 5 and a quarter size speakers should be sufficient and give a clearer, cleaner and crisper sound.
when it comes to component speakers, which are usually of a higher quality anyway, most are only available as either 5 1/4s or 6 1/2s anyway. and these will usually be of a higher quality then a coaxial regardless.
depends on budget, brand, application, and simply what sound you are looking for.
btw, personally i run alpine type r 5 1/4s front and rear with a twelve inch sub... running off a four channel amp for speakers and a mono amp for sub, cars been dynamatted and it is as clear, loud, and bassy as you could ask.
hope this helps
Both sizes are equally capable of excellent sound quality. Which one sounds better is going to depend more on the individual speaker than on it's size. Listen to several models in both sizes and buy what sounds best, it could be either. If your vehicle is already fitted for 6x9's it really isn't worth changing to 6.5 unless your going for a component set. I've never seen 6x9's in a component set, although, I wouldn't be all too surprised if someone else could find one. Either a 6x9 component set, or maybe even a 6x9 plate, with a 5.25 component set in it.
Likewise, if your vehicle is fitted for 6.5 already, it really isnt worth modifying it for 6x9, when there are already so many good 6.5" choices out there.
Extreme audio freaks will say that 6 1/2 round speakers are better because they develope true stereo sound. However to me the 6x9 sound louder and have a deeper bass sound. I think if you are going to have a sub-woofer go with the 6 1/2 if you are just getting the speakers use 6x9. Never use 6x9 in the front though.
sigh
Ok leets break this down
6 1/2 speakrs : circular
6x9 oval
once again i bring up my take a calm pnd and throw a rock in it scenario... ripple effect... circular ripples
for true sound you want the 6 1/2 because thats the way a soundwave reacts...
how the hell do you make an oval soundwave?
reasons why i will NEVER buy 6x9s

Someone Subwoofer HELP?
[Question]
ok i have a bandpass box and have around 200 to spend on two 12 inch subs what would be the best to get for a bandpass box and overall quality in that price range???
[All Answers]
I have yet to see a huge difference in subwoofer quality from brand to brand, but amplifier quality is another story.
go with some kenwood tornadoes, mtx, or some audiobahn subs
for 2
your toast at getting anything really quality id save up about double that and then get some higher quality instead of mediocre ones now
but if your insistatant of getting them now even cheap subs will add bass to your set up just not nessacarily last forever or sound super amazing
Kicker 05CVR122 2 for 170 usd
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3406_Kicker+05CVR122.html
OR
MTX Audio T5512-44 2 for 220 usd
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2174_MTX+Audio+T5512-44.html
OR
Rockford Fosgate Punch P3D412 2 for 240
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9105_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P3D412.html
These are really good sub you can get around 200 usd but recommend Rockford Fosgate P3
the best thing to go with would be memphis
sell the bandpass box and get a ported box you will be so much happier with the sound. and as for the sub go with Rockford Fosgate, MTX, or if you can get your hands on one try to find a brand called RE they are the best.

pulled over for loud music?
[Question]
ok, so as I was driving through a long street i passed by a cop who had pulled over another vehicle, I passed through him and i had my music a little too high than normal... but I figured he would try to get me since he was in a traffic stop. But like 2 minutes later he catches up to me and follows me for about a mile and finally pulls me over. He stated that he pulled me over because I had loud music in the long street. When I recieved my ticked I noticed that he put that the violation occured at the place he stopped me.
1)Can I fight it? He put the wrong info and that means i get excused right?
2) Can't I just say while i passed through him i was not driving, my friend was but i dropped him off and got on the drivers seat, and thats when he caught up and pulled me over?
please help.
thanks.
PS. I wont ever play my music that loud again so, dont start. ;)

1) you CAN fight anything, but the bottom line is that you admit your music was too loud. if it comes down to your word against his, guess who the judge is going to believe.
2) you mean lie? probably don't want to add purgery to you list of offenses...
if a cop wants to pull you over, they will find a reason. Consider yourslf lucky that you only got a ticket for the music, and not a string of other ticky-tack offenses like lane violations, rolling a stop sign or 2, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, etc.
if I were you, i'd go to court, plead guilty, and act apologetic. you might get the fine reduced.
I'm so glad you aired your incident here on answers... Now maybe some of these other idiots who disturb my peace of mind and enjoyment will learn that with liberty come consequences. Usually your permitted to do what ever you want so long as it does not interfere with someone else frame of mind and peace. To answer your question; you don't have a leg to stand on. Pay the fine and be thankful it's not a moving violation; because if it was, you may have to play your music loud on a park bench.
That sux that you were discriminated against for your loud music. Cops are extremely racist and will pull over anyone playing music, typically rap, loud. Yet you will find that they rarely pull over and ticket harley davidson motorcycles with loud pipes or muscle cars with white people driving them. If I were you I would ride along all the motorcycles and muscle cars and than call the non-emergency police phone number with my cell phone. I would than tell them that the person driving the harly davidson has a pipe louder than 25 feet and you would like them ticketed. Dont give them your name, tell them you do not want to give them your name.
it doesn't really matter what street it was on most of the time. A lot of localities have noise level limits. Its what they use to bust most house parties. They also have a similar set of laws set out just for mobile vehicles, they can apply them to exhaust or stereo. its really common. I wouldn't try to fight it myself, what street you were on had no bearing what so ever on the ticket.
If you told me that, and were telling the truth 100%, i wouldn't even believe you. People aren't really as dumb as you may be led to believe.
You might protest it but it's your word against his so you know how that's going to come out.

what does a subwoofer do ?
[Question]
How do you use a subwoofer, what does it do, can you install it yourself, and where do you put in a car ? thankyouu :)
[All Answers]
Sub woofers are basically low frequency speakers. They make that BOOM BOOM noise.
===
> can you install it yourself, and where do you put in a car ?
yes you can instll it yourself if you knew some electronics. But given you don't even know what it is (no offense) You should get a pro to do that.
And they usually install in the trunk - to block even more HIGH FREQ and get that extra low BOOM sound.
Good luck...
yes...u just put them in the right size box and drill them in....u connect the wires to the amp and there u go
You might also need to install a new deck (cd player) that can function with the subs. The subs, which are normally in your trunk, are wired up to your deck and a separate amplifier (power source) and from there you just play your music like you normally do. I would suggest getting both your deck and subs installed professionally. Also you should only get subs if you REALLY want LOUD bass, otherwise if you just want better sound quality get better aftermarket speakers. Aftermarket decks also do well because most have their own amplifier built in therefor giving your speakers louder and better overall sound quality.
Sub woofers are speakers designed to pick up low frequencies the regular speakers can't. Then lower the frequency the louder or more bass you will get. You can install them yourself, and they require to be mounted in a box, and they are usually fitted in the trunk, or rear cabin area.
you dont just hook them to an amp and go you need different kind of wires and a head unit or cd receiver your best goin to bestbuy and askin for help
