Thanks in advance
Oli
Ok, thanks for all the quick replys!
I think im not going to accept because:
1. I havent heard it
2. Sony subs arnt getting very good feedback
What about Fli? are they any good?

Its a good deal if you dont care about sound quality or componenet quality
sony subs just go boom

what ever Flots your Boat sail with it ya Dont need Much or you will get Pulled over my man so keep it down 60 good Price go with it .
It's your friends car, did you hear how it sounded in his car? If you heard it, and liked it, its a good deal. You cant get much of anything for that price if you buy your own new gear somewhere else.
Plus, your getting a good deal on some gear, AND your friend's getting some cash in his hand quick.... it's win-win for both of you
wow haha check out this offer im looking at for pretty much the same set up as you are thinking about getting
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/pts/1073827879.html
i talked him down to 180 so far, pioneer amps are good as hell the only thing im not sure about is the sony subs, i have heard them an they are ok just plan ok, thats why im not sure if i should just get the amp for 100 or get it all for 180
NOT WORTH IT.THEY WILL POP IN THE MATTER OF TIME.CHEAP THEY SOUND GOOD FOR ABOUT 5 MONTH THEN THEY GO BOOM.

Does having a small half penny size hole in a SUBWOOFER affect the sound?
[Question]
I am looking at buy a jl w7 and it has a small hole/tear in it about half penny size. wondering if this will affect the sound of it or do anything besides look bad?
[All Answers]
ofcourse it is goin to affect the sound there is a hole in it and dependin on where the hole is the more you let that sub hit it aint going to get any smaller soon enough it is goin to sound like s*it
Whatever it costs, don't buy it. Whatever it sounds like now, good or bad, it's going to get worse.
I used to have an eclipse titanium sub, which developed a 2 to 3 inch tear where the cone met the surround. I tried superglueing it back together... the glue held, and the tear didn't get any bigger, but it sounded like crap forever after that
A physicist would say definitely. An audiophile would say usually/probably. If you're one of those guys that doesn't care what it sounds like so long as it's loud and takes up the whole car trunk, probably not. You can usually patch them with a silicon or glue kit depending on what it's made of, but I'm not terribly familiar with the JL W7.
A big waste of money, look for something better.
Of course it does...dont even waste ur time or money

sub box and electrical system question?
[Question]
should a sub box, if the proper size, be filled with polyfill? if it is too small, how much polyfill should i use?
second, my lights are starting to dim unlike anything i had before and i am running the same power through it as before. Where do i start to upgrade the electrical system? do i get a new battery? big 3? h.o alternator?
if i should get a battery, do i go with kinetic or optima? is one better than the other?
If it helps, i have a 2002 cavalier with stock battery/alternator. Thank you for any responses.
[All Answers]
A CAPACITOR MAY HELP AFTER A WHILE THE AMP SUCK ALL THE POWER FROM THE BATTERY.
Big 3 is your fist one, if your systems just started dimming sounds like your alternator is getting ready to go.
Armando can you back up why you say a capacitor would be good in this situation?
the capacitor would actually help to damage his setup in this situation a cap isnt to add power to a system its to smooth the voltage peaks and dips in a VERY miniscule scale if his lights are dimming its not a good time to add a cep you would kill the cap from starving it and you would damage the alternator by adding yet ANOTHER device that needs to be charged
That guy in tx
Your fist half of the answer is correct but wrong about the capcitors once again...
Its a common misconception that it will help the lights problem it doesnt help your subs hit or any of the shit you heard
it takes voltage that comes in with peaks and dips "VERY MINIMALLY might i add"
and sends it to the amp as a solid set voltage
No.... u dont buy a capacitor.....it does nothing at all really...u buy a bigger alternator and that will take care of the battery drain and the dimming lights.....
You should only use polyfill if the air volume inside the sub box it too small. You can put it in lightly enough to fill the space but do not crush and compact it as it will loose its value. If your sub box volume is perfect for the volume of the speaker than i do not use polyfill. Do not use polyfill if your box is ported!
As for your headlights dimming use a capacitor at least a 1.5 farad if they dim only slightly. If they dim pretty good then use a larger capacitor. The larger the farad the more it will help.
If the box is the proper size already, then you don't need any polyfill. If the box is too small, then add 1lb of polyfill for every cubic foot that you're under.
OK, so what amp/amps do you have? If it's only about 500 watts or so, your stock system should be working fine without those upgrades, so maybe get your battery & alt tested for free at autozone. And clean your connections. If it's upwards of 1000 watts or more, then you should be looking for upgrades such as the Big 3. For the Big 3 - 4 gauge for 1000 watts is good, 2 gauge for 1500 to 2000 watts, 1/0 gauge for above 2000 should work.
From there look at a cap or HO alt or kinetic battery. It all depends on what amp you have & what music you listen to though.

What are some good subs?
[Question]
I have an MRP-M500 Alpine amp. Im wondering what are the best subs i can get that can run off this amp? I preferably would like 2 12" subs. Suggestions?
[All Answers]
JL Audio makes great subs
Alpine type r 1222-d subs. Check them out on youtube.
I HAD ALOT OF LUCK WITH CHEAP SPEAKERS WHENEVER A POWER BOOST AND INDEPENDENT EQUALIZATION WERE INVOLVED. THE CHEAPER THE BETTER.
Memphis, Crunch, Q-Power, JL Audio, Fosgate,
2 12" mtx Thunder 4500 subs will match perfectly with that amp, ive got an alpine mrp-m450 (400 watt) hooked up to to of those subs (their 225rms each) and i have them wired into a 2 ohm load, so each is getting 200rms watts, that amp puts out 500rms @ 2 ohms so with these subs youd be putting 250rms to each sub, which wont harm them none
and these subs pound and get fairly loud.. terriffic sound quality as well

why would the red light come on to protect the amp?
[Question]
[All Answers]
About red light can be read in http://cars-world2009.blogspot.com/?q=red%20light
cause something is wrong..
play at only 70-80 percent max, never full
Check your amps manual, different models use different colors for different things. Maybe it's hooked up wrong, maybe it got too hot, maybe the car's voltage got too low. Could be any number of things.
IF the protect light is on that means that something is wrong or not wired right......
