Is there any iPod player for a car that hooks up directly do the speakers rather then through the radio?
[Question]
i know they exist but i have only seen them plugged into the cassette player which my car does not have. i dont feel like changing CDs at red lights for a few years.
[All Answers]
no
I haven´t seen one, and the one you are mentioning is working through the radio anyways...Plus, what's the problem with getting a radio with a USB port?
See if you car has an iPod dock addon.
Yes; You can get a cable that just runs directly from the iPod to the radio system on the dashboard, and it will play music directly out of your radio. There are also cables like that that plug directly in, that have amazing radio connection, that always work.

I have an amp in my trunk, but everytime I put a 30 watt fuse in the battery cable in blows in seconds.?
[Question]
My amp was working fine, until it cut off and started smoking the other day. The fuse in the battery cable was blown, and everytime I put a 30 watt fuse in the cable it blows in seconds. What is the problem?
[All Answers]
grab the dvom boy, sounds like youve got a short some where causing too much voltage to flow and inturn blowing your fuse
.. although.. 30 watts is quite alot to be blown just from a stereo circuit.. it may be tied into something else..
but no offence, if you didnt know that it was voltage as a likley cause then you probably shouldnt do this yourself..
it gets kind of complicated.
best place to start would be a voltage drop test
Fuses are blown by short circuits: some part of your amplifier's power circuit is shorted directly to chassis ground. Since your amplifier was smoking, it sounds like the short circuit is inside the amp. Try disconnecting the power wire from the amplifier (and insulate the end of the wire). If you still blow fuses when you put them in, then your power wire is shorted against the vehicle chassis somewhere along its length; if not, then your amplifier is defective.
The amp is done. test it by disconnecting it, fuse should be fine unless you have a short circuit somewhere (live wire touching the car).
But id be very sure you can bin the amp.
Either the 30 amp fuse is not enough for the amp, or the amp is bad, or there is a short some where. Make sure no power wires are touching any other wires.

if i have got 2 600 watt subs what watt amp do i need and would it be a two channel amp too?
[Question]
[All Answers]
obviously need a 1200 watt amp
depends if were talking rms power or max watts power
and either mono or 2 channel
if these are powered subs you do not need an amp at all just connect to your receiver's sub pre-outs... one to each pre-out.
if these are not powered you need an amp with the total output equal (or slightly more or less) than the power rating of your speakers (rms or pmpo). You need to connect each sub to a differnent channel, so in your case 2 channel output is a necessity. there are cases where you can connect subs in series but there could be other considerations... so try and avoid this.
It depends if your subs are rated at 600 watts RMS or 600 watts MAX. You want an amp that matches you subs RMS power as closely as possible for best sound and sub life. So if your subs are rated at 600 watts RMS you would need a amp that puts out close to 600 watts RMS per channel. As for the amp you could either use a 2 channel amp or a mono channel amp and wire the subs in Parallel
how many watts do the subs run rms or continous
