Car Radio Stolen, Can you use any Face?
[Question]
My car radio face was stolen, Can you use any face for a radio on it because I want to buy one from Ebay?
Thanks

You can only use the face for the specific model that you have. It has to be the exact same make and model, otherwise it will not work.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Aftermarket Speaker Replacement?
[Question]
Looking to replace my factory speakers, infinity gold series, with aftermarket speakers. The front doors are 6x9 subs, rear doors 6 3/4", and dash tweeters. Any input on make and model of speakers that will work for my Jeep? I do not plan on replacing the factory amp and stereo. Speakers only. If you have had personal experience with this please let me know..
Thanks
Chris

just pull the door panels and replace go with what you can afford just remember you get what you pay for i have given the links to the sizes you need
If you're determined to keep the factory amplifier, then your best choice is to use factory replacement speakers.
The trouble is that the factory amp has built-in crossover points and equalization that are designed to work with the factory speakers. This is a particular problem with the front door and dash speaker system. The factory 3" tweeter uses a lower crossover point than a typical after-market tweeter. The low-pass crossover point of the door speaker is designed to complement the high-pass crossover point of the tweeter so that both speakers work together to produce the full sound range. If you drop in an after-market 6x9" speaker and after-market tweeter, using the factory amp and crossovers, you'll get a "hole" in your sound because the tweeter won't play the full range that was covered by the factory 3" dash speaker. You can try using an after-market 3.5" speaker in the tweeter spot, but there's not a lot of space in the factory location.
You can bypass the factory amp and connect the factory deck's output directly to the new speakers. Unlike many OEM premium systems, the Jeep head unit's output is high-level, so it can be used to drive speakers directly without the amp. You might lose some volume, however. If you did this, you'd either want to lose the tweeters and just run a full-range 6x9" door speaker, or use a 6.5" 2-way component set and build/buy an adapter to fit the round speaker in the door opening.
Your best option would be to install an after-market 4-channel amp. If you pick one with high-level inputs (or use a 4-channel line-out converter) you could still keep the factory head unit. Then you can run a 6.5" component set in the front, and 6.5" full-range speakers in the rear, with plenty of power.
If your goal is just to replace some blown factory speakers, then I'd get some replacement factory speakers from a dealer's parts department or an online auto parts retailer.

should i get One or Two amps?
[Question]
Im looking to upgrade my car audio system. I Have amps and subs and what not but I want more (like we all do) Well i was looking around and at a local store i found Crunch P1500.1 amps for only $100 new. I know they retail for closer to $150. So Im asking if i should get one for both subs or two, one for each sub. I have two memphis 12s (not sure the exact model number but i think they are the power reference or something like that) I now these amps aren't total junk because a guy i know has one hooked up to two hifonics 12" in a VW rabbit and it make your eyeballs vibrate.
thanks for the help guys

well 1 will do the job inless you want 2 amps since $100.00 is a good deal i would go ahead and get two if you dont need it and it dont make a differenc in sound then you didnt los much
I think you are referring to the PR124 for the sub.
If I remember correctly it comes in single voice coil and dual voice coil. I can't seem to find the impedance (ohm-loads) of the sub anywhere, but claimed power ratings are 250w rms.
The amplifier has peak ratings of 375w @ 4ohm and 750w @ 2ohm. I can't seem to find rms ratings for any of the P-series amplifiers from Crunch. Peak ratings does not mean anything to me.
Two of those amps would definitely be better than one, but then you sould be spending $200, with which you could buy a better amp.
In my honest opinion, you should rather buy better brands (Alpine, JBL, Kicker, Infinity etc.) and your equipment will last longer.

how do radio stations know how many people are tuned in?
[Question]
[All Answers]
They don't know how many are tuned in at any given moment.
To find out which stations have the most listeners, the radio industry uses a market research company. Arbitron is the best-known company that compiles radio ratings, just as Nielson is known for TV ratings.
They randomly choose a group of people and send them a diary so they can record what stations they're listening to, through each day, for a week. Once the surveys are returned, the research company calculates what the total number of listeners would be, if the general population follows the same listening pattern as the survey group.
Some still use the old way which are telephone or mail surveys. Most use a electrical device hooked up to consumers radios or tvs to gather what time or favored broadcasts are tuned too.
