can somebody please explain to me what the difference is in a mono Amplifier and a two and four channel amp?
[Question]
[All Answers]
Mono amp: as the name says is a single channel amplifier. Usually it is used for powering subwoofers. They are well suited for low-frequency applications since the human ear cannot distinguish stereo in the extreme bass range.
Stereo amp: Two channel amplifier. You will have Left & Right channel of your head units going to Left & Right terminals of this amp. Using this, you can just power your front or rear speakers.. but not both.
Four Channel: Supports 4 channels. So, you can power both front side & rear speakers; thus 4 speakers in all.
Hope it helps!

[Question]
i have 2 600watts speakers and a 350 watts amp,now i want to add 2 more 600 speakers.is it ok for my my amps or should i change my amps to a bigger watts so i can boost more power for my speakers?..how much watts for my amps should i need for 4 speakers?..pls help guys..tnx so much..

Buy 2 speakers.
yah get rid of the amp and what kind of speakers have 600 watts are they 600 watts rms or is that for a set of two and if there subs they could be 600 watts email me with the details and ill help yah find the best amp and whatever u need and is this for a car or house and either way ive hooked up three house set ups and like 4 car set ups and actully i won a cmpition with two of them so let me know i can help my email is bigmackburger@yahoo.com
what ohms are the speakers? how many channels does your amp have. you could bridge the speakers but a lot of factors on what kind of amp you have. I'd go with two smaller bridgable 300's amps for 4 600watt speakers.
1200 watts amp. You could ruin your speakers if you do not have the correct watts going through. What is the size of your speakers? are you talking subs or mids?
you probably need to get another amp around the same size as the one you have or maybe even a 500 watt amp in order to get the full effect of having four subs in your car. The best thing that I would recommend is having two 400 watt four channel amps with two subs bridged to each one. You'll have more than enough power to your 600 watt speakers but not so much that you blow them. To put 600 watts into a 600 watt speaker is definitely headed for heartache and a non bumping radio lol...

After Market CD player in a 99 Taurus?
[Question]
The car I'm buying is equipped with a tape deck. I have a nice detachable face in my current car. Is there any way to install this into the Taurus? I know that there is a combined dash unit with the stereo and heat/air controls, so is it possible to install it? Or do I have to buy a ford model cd player for the car
also i have an the wire harness.. will I have to buy any more equipment?
[All Answers]
As long as the radio does not have digital climate controls, and the aftermarket unit being installed is a single din deck, then yes, it can be installed.
yes you can have it installed you will though need to go say like wal- mart and buy a spacer and a wire harness that matches the CD player and the model of your car i know by experience that it is best to have some one hook it up professionally because if you don't some times it will mess with the light because your dimmer also will dim the light on your radio best of luck though

i have a 1996 chevy blazer and i wanted to kno what size, model, and brand speakers i should get?
[Question]
im looking for speakers that give off a lot of bass. i like my car to bump while im rollin' down the street lol. the speakers in the car really don't get the job done. so plz some one help me.
[All Answers]
At first from reading your question I thought you meant door speakers. for the size that fits in your doors, you can check on crutchfield.com by inserting your car model into your search.
but for bass you need a subwoofer.
the most popular are 12 inch woofers. but the size, brand, and model are all up to your discretion.
I have one 15 inch memphis mojo, and its loud. My suitemate can hear me on the 7th floor of our apartment when Im driving around the big parking lot looking for a spot. but some people run 10's, 12's or even 18's. it reall depends on how much bass you want, how much space you want to sacrifice, and possibly any electrical system upgrades you want to make if you decide to run over a certain amount of watts rms.

What would push 2 15 inch subwoofer?
[Question]
[All Answers]
It usually depends on the name brand of the sub. But I guess the recommend watts would probably 1000w-2000w Amp. Just turn the amp all the way down when you first turn it on, then crank the stereo up. Then slowly increase the power on the amp until you hear a rattling distortion from your speakers, and then turn it down just a little bit. (If it has no distortion all the way up, then your good and don't have the power to blow em)
First, consider the wattage and impedance of the two subs you intend to power. This will give you an idea of what kind of amplifier to look for. If you don't have enough power coming from your stereo, amps, EQs, crossovers, etc.. it will sound weak and muddy. On the other hand, overdriving your subs will sound distorted and damage the coils in them. The output of your stereo and amps can be considerably higer than the wattage handling capability of your subs, but be safe and adjust your volume and amp gain levels slow and easy to avoid damage to your equipment. Subwoofer enclosure air volume, port tuning, or enclosure sealing will make a difference in performance and sound quality too.
any amp will push 15's. But if you want to get the best amp for your 15's or the 15's that you are thinking about geting you need to find one that has a RMS output that matches the RMS rating of both 15's together.
for example, if you have two 15's and they can each handle 200 watts. then you want an amp that puts out 400 watts. that way each speaker will get 200 watts.

can 2 12s get as loud as 2 15s?
[Question]
i wanna put my system together i got a jbl gto 1201.1II and im looking at getting two re se 12s. do you think they could be as loud as two 15s from a lower quality brand with about 800 watts total rms on the 15s?
[All Answers]
Everything else the same, which ones are going to push more air?
There's your answer.
First off, the box your subs are in will make a huge difference in volume and sound. You want a good quality box that has the recommended volume. As far as the 12's to the 15's, depends on the setup and amount of watts you're runnin through each sub. 2 15's push alot more air and get plenty loud. Personally I'd stick with two 12's simply because they're loud enough for just about anything unless it's a competition car. I also think that the 12's are better sounding. Hope this helps.
How loud speakers get is determined by what is supplying the power, the amp. If you're keeping the same 800 watt amp, the "loudness" will stay the same.
But I will contest that the sound quality of the 15's will be better than the 12's. This is due to the size of the sound waves that the speakers produce. The bigger the speaker, the more appealing the quality, and the other way around.
yes two 12's can be louder than two 15's of a lower quality brand. But its not always easy to just get some high quality speakers and expect them to be louder than other good quality speakers. the 12's would have to be more sensitive, and probably need more power to be louder than two 15's.
15's have more cone area than 12's so they can push more air than 12's which means the 12's are gonna have to do a few things much better than the 15's just to catch up to their output.

Need help with the ground wire on a car stereo?
[Question]
I have my wiring harness that is specific for my car and the connecter for the head unit all has color coded wires that connect to the harness but where I'm confused is the (Black) Ground wire. Both connecters have a black ground wire coming out of them so do I connect these 2 black wires together or do I ground them each indivdually to my auto body frame and not let them touch other? I hope someone understands my question cause I need to get this done ASAP!
Now what about the solid blue wire. My wiring diagram says it's power to my amp but I notice that on the connector than plugs into my head unit ,it appears that it's bundled with the speaker wires making me think it's a speaker wire ,but on the factory harness side it's bundled with the main wires (Orange, Red, yellow, black). This concerns me. What is it for?
[All Answers]
Either method will work, but I'd go the route of crimping the two wires together for simplicity.
just connect them together. for the most part its just connect the colors. occasionally you will find a diversion, but if they are black they are mosly likey ground, connect them and it should work fine.
2 black wires together and ground to any thing medal
