how do i connect my amp?
[Question]
hi guys
i'm new to this ice instalation lark!
been reading lots of posts and got most questions answered without having to post. altough i cant find any threads to help me!
I have 1 rca sub out, 2 rca rear out, 2 rca front out etc on my head unit but 2 subfoofers and a four channel amp.
what do i connect to the amp?
(sorry i'm new to in car audio. GREAT with home/club audio, been a dj, producer and promoter for many years)
i know what i would do if it was a home set up!
any help please would be appreciated

Use the rca sub out. this allows you to control the sub from the head unit
use one of the rca out straight to the amp from the head-unit, there should be a blue wire coming out of the head unit, that goes to the amp(remote power), both subs get hooked up straight to the amp.
The main live & earth for the amp should go straight to the battery.
Bit brief but hope it helps.

Tru Technology amps? Ever heard of this name?
[Question]
They are selling this amp on Ebay, look at the price....WOW!! The bid started off at 99 cents,I have never heard of this brand in all my years of car audio.

Truthfully, I've heard of this brand. It looks good on paper. I'd be anxious to get one on my bench. That's the only way I'd be able to get the real numbers out of it.
One BIG RED FLAG is the fact that they give no specs to compare the amp to. Not even on the tru technology web site. I mean, come on, give me a wattage rating on at least one of the "copper series" amps! That way, when I bench test it and it shows me that it is BUNK, I can say without a doubt, that it is BUNK!

do i need an amp in my car if i want to hook up a subwoffer?
[Question]
do i need an amp in my car if i want to hook up a subwoffer??
[All Answers]
Depends on how large the subwoofer is, and what kind of power your car audio system is already providing. However, the answer is probably yes. Having a sub will allow you to adjust the sub output and with an equalizer or similar device, you can customize the frequencies that your sub will produce ...... no treble or midtones, only bass. You can buy a sub with a built in amp eg: bazooka or you can custom build the box....
Hope this helps.
It is best that you do. The subwoofer will pull power from your deck. Most deck have a separate port (wires) for the sub, run this to your amp for cleaner deeper lows.
umm yea. why would u have a sub in your car if you dont have a amp. u wont be able to hear the sub without one

Getting some buzzing from speakers with new Pioneer AVIC F700BT?
[Question]
Hi,
Just had this Pioneer unit installed in my 2003 tahoe with the Scosche GMLAN2SR replacement harness w/chime...at first I thought the buzzing was from the dimmer wheel for the lights inside...it was set at about half intensity. I dimmed the lights all the way down and the buzzing got louder, I turned it up to full and the buzz went away completely...HOWEVER, when I turn the vehicle on, the kind of "whistling" buzz starts up. It gets whinier as you press the gas pedal too... Might this be an issue with the Scosche device or my Pioneer? Thanks for answers!

A common problem problem with aftermarket stereos are that they are not "filtered". It sounds like you are getting interference from your alternator. An easy fix. Something else to look at. Check all the grounds to this system. It should have been to your dash and/ or engine block.
