Which is better a 1 channel amp or a two channel amp?
[Question]
I have two new Kenwood subs that are each rated at 1000 watts a piece. I have been looking at amps on ebay and i stumbled upon a stupid question. My question is if it would be better(more power) to get a 1200 watt 1 channel amp or a 1200 watt two channel amp.
[All Answers]
Ideally, each sub should be driven by a class D sub amp. That will provide you with the most power & punch. Running that many amps & subs will most likely require a capacitor and industrial strength heavy guage wiring. Don't forget a distribution block for easy wiring & trouble shooting later on if needed. G'luck!
two channel
2 channel always is better itll hit harded
a 1200watt class d mono channel will be better because it will push equal power and if you wire the subs to 1ohm it will hit harder than any 2 channel amp
check out the12volt.com for wiring diagrams
If you have two single voice coil, 4-ohm subs (and the most popular Kenwood subs are this type) then the best amplifier option is a 2-ohm stable, mono amplifier. Multiple subwoofers perform best when they're all playing the exact same signal at the exact same level, and a mono amp is the best way to do this.
By the way, you should ignore the "peak" or "max" rating of the subwoofer and amplifier, and look only at "RMS" or "nominal" power ratings. Also, when you're shopping for a mono amplifier, make sure you look at the 2-ohm power rating, not the 4-ohm rating. When you combine two 4-ohm subs, you end up with a 2-ohm load. The power produced by the amp will be divided evenly between the subs, as long as they're identical.

Whats the best?: In car audio systems...?
[Question]
Im getting a new car and after seeing my mates touchscreen audio system i knew i could do better.
So whats the best in car audio system. Like an all-in-one. Best functionality and sound output aswell as features. Im more about the cd/mp3 ipod connectivity aspect aswell as sat-nav. I dont mind the dvd aspect because when would i really watch them.
Price no question :P
Also a good subwoofer to use. Or links to subwoofers
Thanks
When i say price is no object lol
i dont mean go fcukin all out
gotta have a limit so like lower than £1500
which would hopefully include head unit and sub

Get a pioneer/Alpine touchscreen audio head unit with USB or ipod connection, should come with satnav and a DVD player too. For a powerful sound output, get four 6x9 JBL or Alpine speakers, which i have in my car, and my friend has a Mutant subwoofer with a 600w amplifier with crossovers, and the bass produced by that is immense. That would sound like a very good (and very expensive) system to me!
check out halfords, although most of the car stuff they do is tat they have a pretty good range of car audio products.
well if price is no option get an in-car pc...ive just fitted one in mine..belting is the word..it uses a touchscreen monitor, proper software[centrafuse] plus sat nav,OBD software...plus mobile broadband...what more can you want?
Clarion NX509 (NX-509) head unit and infinity or eclipse sub set up.this is way to go and replace you stock speakers as well go infinity.this is easy for 3 grand.message me if necessary.
get a complete PIONEER system,
you will have a brilliant sound system if you do,,

What to look for when buying 13cm speakers?
[Question]
Hi,Im looking to buy some 13cm speakers for my car, but im unsure what to look for. Is two-way or three-way better. Is there anything else i should be looking for. Thanks
[All Answers]
RMS wattage. If your headset is 50Wx4 channels you will need to get speakers with a RMS rating of 50W or more.
make sure you ARE getting the full 13cm's!
Ear plugs?
your head-unit will NOT kicking out 4x50w RMS its 4x50w MAX, (there is alot of differance)
when buying a speaker, dont go by the maximum wattage (thats usually a heap of rubbish) its the rms or nominal power that you look for,
i personally would buy a 3way or a 2way speaker, the 3 way gives a beter sound, but stay away from the dual-cone speakers, they arnt that good compared to the 2 or 3 way
when choosing a speaker always buy a good quality make like pioneer, alpine, stay away from crap like kenwood, they make food mixers and deep fat fryers, not speakers
