I would love to install a car stereo and speakers into my rec-room wall downstairs. Is it possible to convert the car stereo so that you can somehow plug it into a regular outlet?

Yes, Radio Shack sells several ac to dc converters that are affordable for just such a purpose.

an adapter would work but make sure it can produce the amps that may be required 5-10 amps would be the best to keep the radio from dimming or loosing power at high levels....me i just would use a small car battery hooked to a small charger tucked nicley in a cabinet and that would be my power supply.

whatever you do, dont strip a wire and plug it into your head unit. i tries tha tona stock unit and i almost pissed my pants, it caughgt on fire and made the most outrageous sound ive ever heard hahaha

I'd say NO for two reasons:



1. Bass guitar frequencies are not sub-woofer.



2. Power: A bass amp wants lots of power. Even if you got a dc-inverter big enough, it would likely drain your battery fast or do damage to your vehicle's electrical system.



Sorry. But the right type of amplifier uses 12 volts and a few amps of power, is made for the job, and passes the right frequencies to your speakers.

I just put a new set of Alpine Type S speakers in my car, and they still sound no better than my old, stock speakers from 98. is this because the stock wiring is too thin? or i also heard from a friend that it might be because i have no amp to them, but i still think they would sound fine with no amp...

assuming type S door, or rear deck speakers. if the new speakers sound as bad as the old ones you may have a bad radio. the radio can still put out a signal even when slightly toated. this would produce a garbled, distorted sound. an amp is not required unless you wantclean sound at high volume. these speakers will hook up fine to any after market radio without an amp. stock wiring is not to thin

Can I bridge a car amp from 4 channels to 3 channels to power 4 speakers and 1 subwoofer?

I have 2x 20w rms 4ohm kenwoods(4"), 2x 35w rms 4ohm kenwoods(6.5") and a kenwood head unit. I now want to get a Kenwood KAC 6404 500W 4 Channel Amplifier with 60w rms x4 @ 2ohm. I also want to get a kenwood subwoofer. Now, can i connect a 20w and 35w in parallel to two of the channels on the amp to get 2ohm per channel on two channels? and can i then bridge the remaining two channels on the amp to a subwoofer? What happens to the ohms on the amplifier when 2channels are bridged into 1 speaker? What should the ohms and watts be on the subwoofer or, which kenwood subwoofer would work best? Thanx everyone in advance. It will take a genius to answer this question.....

----This question has been asked already. It doesnt matter the brand. SUBWOOFERS are made for aloooot more wattage than just a speaker.. If you push the same wattage to both a subwoofer and to a speaker, the speaker wont be able to hold up

Your amp could possibly be blown. Make sure the amp is turned on and all the connections are made correctly. make sure no fuses are blown either. Other than that I am not sure what could be making this. Could be blown subs too. Or shorts in the wires.

my car does the same thing, this is a common problem that happens on all brand new honda accord models (08 and 09), this happens because of the anc mics,



what car do you drive, if it is a honda i can go into more detail as to why it happens.
