Listen to ITouch in Car?
[Question]
What sort of device do I need to buy to be able to listen to my iPod in my car?
I don't have an auxillary jack, nor do I have a cassette player. Do I have to buy a device that plugs into my lighter?
But what KIND of adaptor. I have no idea what I'm looking for. I don't want to walk into a Future Shop or Best Buy and have them sell me the most expensive option.

You can buy a device that hooks up to the ipod and transmits a signal to the radio. You have to have it on a certain station, but it work just like a aux cable.
down load it onto your com. then burn it on a cd then play it in your car.
they sell radio transmitters for all ipods, that just plugs into your ipod, and it sends out a weak radio signal (just enough for you car stereo to pick it up), and you tune your car radio to the station the transmitter uses
I just bought something called an iTrip. It plugs into your cigarette lighter, and into your iPod. Then you scan for a clear radio station and your ipod plays through that station and into your car. Its great I love it. Mine was about 50.00 at Best Buy.
you can buy a device that will play through your fm radio by broadcasting to it. its called the itrip. you don't need to plug it into your radio it runs on batteries.
this is so simple your going to go duh! why didnt i think of that. you can go to wal-mart, go into their electronics, ask an employee their for an adapter cord. it looks like the end of a set of head phones, plug one end into the port where you plug in your headphones into your ipod, plug the other into an adapter in your car. its the thing around your radio stuff that looks like a set of head phones could be plugged into it. if you dont have an adapter in your car, then theres nothing really you can do. execpt buy a mini stereo port for your ipod.
Go to radio shack they have cheap one and you a free cord for your stereo.
have fun :)
Try this...
An FM Modulator
They are a bit expensive, but maybe you can find it cheaper somewhere else.

DO NOT get a transmitter, they suck, and sound quality goes in and out.

Do I need a new battery?
[Question]
When I tried to start my car this morning, turned the key on and all that I got was a continual tick, tick, tick. The lights are very dim, and the instrument panel is extremely dim. This is the original battery (2000) we got with the car. I used the car yesterday and no problems.
[All Answers]
Yeah that battery did you good for 9 years. Replace the battery!
clean the connections and if the battery is that old then get a new one because its about dead.
yupp
replace battery
Did you leave anything on in the car overnight?
best check alternator with those little volt metre testers, get a gararge to check for you, probably wont charge you anything,
well first i would ask you if you left any lights on or anything, as this could drain the battery. if not, the battery is probably dead, but i would take it to auto zone because they can do a free battery test to see if it really is dead, or if it just needs a good charge.
I believe the life span for batteries is around 5-10 years. So your due for a new one. But just check around your electronics to make sure nothing was left on that might have drained your battery.
My sisters Blazer's Brake Light switch went out so the brake lights were left on no matter if she was driving or not. Just a quick check won't hurt. Might as well get a new battery no matter what.
you need a new battery your battery outlasted what it shoud have 3 times ...what kinda battery was it btw?
Jump start it and take the positive cable off to see if the alternator still charges it and if it does then you need to check if you left something on or buy a new battery or get it tested at autozone, kragen, pep boys where ever

Sub Not Giving a Bass Effect??!! Help?
[Question]
i don't know much about car audio but my friend gave me a jbl 1000 watt sub today i wired it to my amp but doesn't seem to be as affective in my car? its wired to a 700w mono alpine amp
thanks
[All Answers]
Make sure you have the bass turned up on the actual stereo
mess with the dials and turn it up until it sounds good
its plenty powerful enough to rattle your teeth if you set it up right
have your friend help you if you're lost
Check both the posters above. Is the amp functioning? There should be a light somewhere on the amp. Can you tell if the sub is working at all? Maybe a loose connection.
if the amp is working and the sub is moving thgen the amp may be on the wrong setting.
you should have a dial or switch on there saying either Full or HP
and another saying low or LP
for bass it needs to be to LP/low as this will then pick up only the low end base sounds on full it will be just a big speaker.
If I were you I would check the frequency on the amp. That basically allows certain frequencies to the subs, and keeps certain ones out. You don't want it too low because youll be playing subsonic frequencies, but you dont want it set too high because you'll be getting vocals coming through the subs.
I hope I could be of some help:

My truck has a stereo that does not have a cd player. I want a new stereo, but all the new ones have cd player?
[Question]
I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado and the radio has no cd player.
I now want an after market stereo faceplate but i can't find any that do not have a CD player. So my question is, if I buy an after market stereo that HAS a CD slot, will it work with my truck ? If not, does anyone know who makes a stereo faceplate that does NOT have a CD slot ?

Yes it will work.
Yes it will work. As long as it is installed correctly.
yes just have it installed or someone help you .. its not that hard ^_^
Go to a wrecker and salvage a stock unit from any Chevy that has a cd player, it will be a few screws and a simple plug. EASY
