Do 15 inch subwoofers sound good?
[Question]
I am planning on getting a pair of subwoofers. I was looking into getting 2 Fi BTL 15s, because i listen to mostly rap. So i want the bass to be loud and low, but i also want it to sound good. Would 2 Fi BTL 15s that are powered properly and put into a good enclosure for them sound good?
Please Fully Explain! Thanks!

dude it subs are not really as important as the amp so if your amp is really good then make the subs capable of what damage the amp can cause =]
I personally have TWO AudioQue subs (15s) and they shake the HELL out of my Grand Prix.. (there in the trunk) If i pull the backseats down its amazing.. everything will bounce when they hit, but thats to be expected. My Fiance has two 18" Fis in an Expedition, but that beats mine all to shit. Those are competion quality.. BUUUUUT you have to keep in mind- Subs are as good as you amp (thats true) dont put all your money into a set them buy some crap for an amp.. youll blow everything up. But as well... your subs are only as good as your box. You cant just pop some holes in it and expect greatness.. They have to be tuned right or youll get too high and they wont hit they way that you want. Makeing the port too big and youll just get the bass "sound" ..Its a "bump" --No shaking and it sounds funky. The port too big and the LOW bass hits will not come thru
2 15' Kicker CVRs will ruin you ears because it's so loud :) kicker fits your needs easily fit your needs of low loud bass. You won't be disappointed. I'm not.
Kicker > JL Audio
Joe fi will walk all over kicker anyday of the week, for you to sound good you need the right box for them no prefab box, you need good amplifier i seen people who use them daily put 3k or 4k amplifier like rd audio, memphis 4k, sundown 3k, and audiopipe 3k, but be sure you have good electrical system to back up the amplifier.

Everything. Tell me simply everything. Professional answers preferred.?
[Question]
I know nothing about car audio. I hear people talk about their cars and what they have for subs and amps and it sounds like a completely different language to me. I feel like an idiot. My friends have cars with systems that sound amazing. I want to do something like this to my car. It's a pile of sh*t but it'd be nice if it sounded like that. So actually. Explain VERY thoroughly the following to me.
1.) aftermarket cd players : installing, definition of "hardwiring", how to install
2.) amp : what it does, how to install/installing, where to place it, suggested brands
3.) subs : how they work, suggested size, where to find a box, suggested brands
[All Answers]
this is the kind of thing that you have to research
don't try to get it easy off here
just google aftermarket car audio
or custom car audio
how to do custom car audio
etc.
Listen I don't want to type 10,000 words so listen. Go to crutchfield.com and go to learn and read until you know everything they are the most educated and helpful site in the world no doubt.
Alpine amps.
Sony speakers.
Kicker subs.
Pioneer decks.
Just my preference
I dont suggest you get any kinda of system untill you know what everything is and how it all works. Getting a deck is fine (i have an alpine) HOWEVER i dont think that you should put a deck in by yourself.. EXPECIALY taking your stock out. Taking a stock radio out can some times be a bigggggg pain in the ass.. I have a Grand Prix and mine for exampler was verrrrrry difficult. Stocks are some times harder in some cars than other, but its not a job that you can just take a screw driver and pop it out.. theres special tools involved and all the wires have to be connected back up in working order or nothing happens, and you have to tear it all up and try wiring it again.. Its NOT for an inpatient person.
Will here go's. First:The aftermarket cd player. I would use the Alpine model CDA-9884 why... It's a good cd player with lots of features . Plus it comes with the Ipod adapter so if you have you can use it through your radio. Next Never cut the factory radio plug off Never Never. This is a very bad Idea. Cause if you don't know what wire does what you can damage the new deck or the wiring under the dash. They make a adapter that plugs on to the factory wiring Then it's color for color with the wining harness that comes with the new cd player. Now as far as taking out the old radio Cruchfield.com can send you a diagram on how your dash comes apart. All they will need is year, make, model. They will also tell you what dash kit an wiring kit for the factory plug you'll need. Read the booklet that comes with the dash kit this will tell you how to setup the kit to fit your car or truck. Each vehicle is different on how it comes apart. Next : The amp what it does is boosts a small signal into a larger one. so it can be powerful enough to drive the subs. How to install a amp again in the box your new amp came in there's a booklet That will show you how to wire up the amp. Wiring first you'll need a amp wiring kit . These come in different sizes 0 gauge, 4 gauge, 6 gauge, 8 gauge the smaller the number the bigger the wire the more power it will carry. Lets say you get a amp that puts out 300 watts rms into two channels. I would use a 4 gauge kit for best performance. Where to mount the amp. If it's a car the trunk is the most common place. As far as Brands where do I start. First it depends on the budget you have. Names like Alpine, Memphis , Soundstream , Orion, Kicker, JBL are a little pricey but worth it. On the lower end you have MA audio, Audiopipe, Planet Audio , Cerwin Vaga,Power Bass less money still good amps just not as pricey .Now for the subs: How they work I'll leave that for the engineers to answer. As far as size in depends on the size of your trunk an what type of music you like. Without knowing this it's hard to answer. I would say 10" or 12" subs. would be good.Any good stereo shop, pick one that has a good reputation . I hate to say it but flea markets some times have good boxes. Get one made from MDF not particle board. you can tell the difference by the way it looks on the edges of the speaker holes MDF won't flake. The brand of subs would be the same as the amps. I hope this helps you out.

Will running a vehicle on accessory for something like listening to the radio run the battery down?
[Question]
Not much else to ask, refer to the question.
[All Answers]
yes
yes if prolonged time with out charging the batt
Anything you use on a car without running the engine will run the battery down. Leaving the little light on in the glove compartment will eventually run the battery down.
Yes it will. But if you have a good battery, you can listen to the radio for a long time. I regularly go to a four or five hour drive in movie without starting my car. When the nights over it starts without a probelm. However, I have had to jump start other cars with less fortune.

How do you remove the factory deck in an '02 Honda Civic?
[Question]
I have an '02 Honda Civic EX. I can't figure out how to remove the factory deck in order to install the one I have purchased. I know how to do all the wiring for it. Thanks.

no free previews this weekend
park it in a bad neighborhood,
leave the windows down,
talk a walk for a few minutes,
when you come back you will find that some nice citizen has removed it for you

Car Amp not turning on?
[Question]
Hi,
I put the wire from the battery to the amp and ground wire and remote wire to the amp.but my amp doesnt seem to turn on.. am i missing a wire for the amp to turn on.. usually when the amp has power. there is a little red light on the amp that turns on..but i dont see that turn on. i checked the if the power is coming from the power wire with a multimeter.it is. i have a good ground also. please help.. the remote wire is coming from the head unit to the amp. its an aftermarket alpine cd player
i tried more than 2-3 amps but same problem. and no i did this while the cd player outta the dash so i made sure the remote wire didnt deattach.
[All Answers]
Did you check the voltage on the remote terminal with a multimeter?
If you're getting a good voltage reading on the remote and the battery terminals, and the amp still won't turn on, check the fuses on the amp. If they're good, then the amp is probably defective.
it might be your remote wire it could have got pinched or came undone at the head unit. it has happened to me a lot before
Silly answer... i know but have you checked the amps fuse?
Other than that the ONLY option is either your REM wire is hooked up to the wrong wire or the deck is bad One simple way to test is just run the REM wire to the battery really quick.
