What type/size capacitor should I get for my car audio system?
[Question]
I have a Pioneer 800 watt amp pushing 2 12" subs.
The headlights on my car have started to dim significantly!
In addition, I have 4-gauge wires ran and a newer battery.
[All Answers]
A 1 fared cap will handle 1000 watts. and im in love with Stinger!

NOS bottle cap :) i have 2 of them they have digital readouts and all.
It's probably not a lack of a cap that's causing your lights to dim. Are they dim only when your bass thumps, then if you turn off the subs they return to normal? Take the car to autozone/wherever for a free alternator and battery test. If everything is ok THEN think about a capacitor.
Wal-mart has a cheap cap, 0.5 farad, which will be plenty for an 800 watt system. It's what I run on my 1500 watt without any problems
A capacitor is not going to keep your headlights from dimming.
If you are having that problem then you need to upgrade the Big 3.

I would start with this first,if you still have the dimming problem then you will need to get a bigger alternator.
I recommend 1 farad per 500 watts, for optimal output. A 1.5 would be about perfect for you, just make sure it's functional. If it's not helping your headlights, it's not working well.

What's the best way to connect your ipod to your car stereo?
[Question]
I have a 4th generation oldpod. I want to connect my oldpod to my car but I don't want to use an itrip. Is there an easy way to do it without replacing the factory radio (which doesn't have an AUX plug)?
Chuck, the passenger is my wife, So good idea!!
[Best Answer]I just drive with headphones on... you don't have to pay for anything new and you don't have to listen to your passenger...
[All Answers]
Depending on the model of your car some companies make aux adapters you can install in your car, however I'd much rather spend the money on an aftermarket radio... You can also buy one of those cassete adapters where there is a cassette you put in your stereo and attached to it is an aux cable that goes to your ipod... However that, like the Itrip, has some sketchy quality... Take the plunge get a new radio, you really won't regret it.
Even though your car does not have an AUX plug, you may still be able to connect it through some less conventional means, such as through an input/ some wiring originally meant for a 6-disk changer, but not installed on your car.
The last possible way to get a direct connection is to bypass your antenna cable, and connect your ipod through there. How exactly that is done, I don't know.
Good Luck

How do I remove the dash on my 04 Hyundai Accent (UK)?
[Question]
So, I'm looking to replace the stereo on my car. I took it to Halfords, but I've been told that it's bolted in. This means the dash needs to come off, to get to the stereo from behind. Halfords could do it but I don't really fancy paying them £40 or so for labour.
I've looked all over the internet for instructions on doing this but can't find anything. I was hoping someone could help me out?
It's a Hyundai Accent 1.3 GSI, 04 plate, I don't really know of anything more specific I can say on it.
Thanks, Dan

It's a glorified Kia. Just blow on it, it will peel right off.
