[Question]
I'm 15 years old and im getting my first car in october. Since I'm a kid i wont have a lot of money to spend on a sound system. What is the best i can get without having to spend a lot of money? (over $2000)

calrion cheap but effective
Cant go wrong with sony xplode. cheap and as long as you dont beat the crap out of it it'll last. I have 2 12" black p5s and 2 1200 watt amps hits hard cost about 600 to 750 depending on the box I went with bandpass box. I'm impressed with it.
as long as the speakers aren't blown ,the original system should be ok.don't be taunted by your friends into wasting your money on an ear shattering system.spend it on your girlfriend.you'll get more bang for your buck!
You can get a nice system for well under $2,000.
Get a decent Pioneer deck, they're nice because they include crossovers for your main speakers. Taking the low frequency out of them will make even the factory speakers a lot clearer and louder.
Get a single 10" or 12" sub, get a decent brand, here's where to spend a little of the money to get some performance out of it. I'd go with at least JL. Stay away from anything like MTX, pioneer, RF etc. A single 12" JL will be a lot louder than two crap subs anyway. Then get a decent amp, a small Alpine is a good amp for a sub. Around 250 RMS will be plenty to power one sub. With everything installed you should be around $1,000, maybe less. Need to spend a little more? Get a little more power to that sub. A little more? Get a better sub, Boston Accoustics makes great subs. A little more yet? Upgrade the factory speakers and put an amp to them.
Get a decent head unit - I like sony
add a power amp
decent speakers
and a 12" sub-woofer unit (self amplified)
That should give you great sound without breaking the bank. ($1500 - $2000)
Do NOT get kenwood - nothing comes good from a company that makes kitchen appliances, and you will be branded as an inexperienced boy racer who buys all his parts at halfords.
JVC have much more experience with speakers and make better quality systems, but they are generally more expensive - however it will be worth it in the long run.
To start with, I think it should be better to spend ALL of your money on a set of VERY good speakers and a good amplifier first. Do not fall into a trap of buying a huge subwoofer, because you will regret it. To get attention by buying a huge expensive subwoofer before upgrading your speakers is a bad decision, as you will be playing your music too loud for your speakers to cope and the sound inside your car will be awful. To start, buy a good amp that is higher than the speakers you want, and then buy a GOOD set of speakers. Go for the lower profile names that specify in car audio and are hard to find in shops; they will most likely have an online store.
Then, buy a good quality sub. Remember, bigger is not always better; you may find a 500 sub as better quality than a 1000W. Always look for an RMS Wattage and not a peak, and also look at size of cone. Bigger cones may provide the same performance as a smaller cone with a higher power rating. Also look at the sub itself - if it looks like the sub itself has been "pimped out" as it were, avoid it. Real manufacturers want to appeal to real people, not boy racers. Avoid the green and black one with big X's on it and neons on it, essentially.
Look at reviews on the internet and forums to find a cheap system.
Oh, and drive safe. ;)

I HOOKED UP MY SUBWOOFERS AND MY FUSE THATS HOOKED TO MY POWER WIRE BY THE BATTERY KEEPS ON BLOWING?
[Question]
CAN U TELL ME Y
[All Answers]
it could be wires are wired wrong it could be that an amp is too much for your subs.... but it probably is your rca plugs make sure you got some really good input wires need more help ask
Your fuse is too small or your amp is too powerful, or you hooked it up wrong. Double check your wiring.
You haven't setup the cables at the subs correct or the amp has a problem. Before you connect them at the amp you should see the ohms of each sub and both together with the meter and then connect them with the amp. Take them out and setup them again is the best option
Either there is a short somewhere or the fuse is too small in amperage rating.
you have a bigger fuse load on your amp than on your battery amp cable. ex. the amp has two 30 amp fuses and drwas that from the 15 amp battery fuse and blows it cause 15amp is too small for 30amp fuse

amp for a fi bl subwoofer?
[Question]
whats a good amp for a 15" fi bl loaded
[All Answers]
what is a fi bl
Get one of the Sony Explod amps.
kicker KX will give u 1450 RMS
Take a Hifonics BXi 2008D or 2010D at 1ohm 2000wrms or with more money BXi 2610D at 1ohm 2600wrms. With this amps will work really nice. I hope you like it.
Any FI subwoofer whether it be a BTL or IB3 should be supplied with the most amount of power possible. The RMS of the 15" FI BL is 1000watts you should either use a Alpine, JL audio, Hifonics or Kicker amp to supply the power. Any other qualitiy amp should be able to supply the power well to this subwoofer but id choose from 1 of the 4 brands above.

Can someone explain car amp ratings?
[Question]
Hi, I'm pretty new to car audio and I'm looking at buying a new amp and I need some things explained. First off I have two 12" subs, theyre rated at 200w rms 400 peak 4ohm. If I connect them in a series would they be 2 ohm? If I'm looking at an amp that's rated:
4 x 75W @ 4 ohms (0.04% THD)
4 x 100W @ 2 ohms (0.3% THD)
2 x 200W @ 4 ohms (0.3% THD)
Does that mean it would power 2(speakers) x 200w @ 2 ohms? or would I hook up the 2 subs seperate (not in a series) and get 2 x 200w @ 4 ohm? Thanks.
[All Answers]
You should hook them up seperate. If u hook them up together it will sound loud but your amp will overheat to brutal temps fast and cut on and off on you
all you gotta do is bridge the amp so that you have 2 channels instead of 4. then hook up the first channel to one sub and the second channel to the other sub. with that setup your pumpin 200 watts RMS into each sub, which is exactly what they need
Keep the subs separate At 200 watts rms @ 4 ohm . This will keep you from frying your amp or your subs. Also make sure you have a good ground to metal . No seatbolts or grounding through paint an primer. Hope this will help you out .
First thing you need to know is what an ohm is.read this:
The ohm is defined as the resistance between two points of a conductor when a constant potential difference of 1 volt, applied to these points, produces in the conductor a current of 1 ampere, the conductor not being the seat of any electromotive force.[1]
In many cases the resistance of a conductor in ohms is approximately constant within a certain range of voltages, temperatures, and other parameters; one speaks of linear resistors. In other cases resistance varies (e.g., thermistors).
4 x 75w @ 4 ohms: 4, 4 ohm speakers seperatly connected to 4 channels.
4 x 100w @ 2 ohms: 4, 8 ohm speakers seperatly connected to 2 bridged channels.
2 x 200w @ 4 ohms: 2, 4 ohm speakers seperatly connected to 2 bridged channels

From what I heard, Alpine is the best brand to get for speakers and for the extra $20 or so I would go with the 600C, it seems it's worth the extra money.
They're plenty for anything made by MTX. Get crossovers to cut out the low frequencies and you'll get plenty of clarity and volume out of them.
get alpine
