How can I get a stuck cd out of a cd player?
[Question]
A cd is stuck in my 2006 Chevy Equinox. The dealer said they would have to take out the entire player???? Seems drastic. Anyone have any better suggestions? Thank you.
[All Answers]
nope you have to remove the player as far as i know sorry!
Might be some screws around it that you can take out. Maybe the cover will come off, and you can take the CD Out. Then, screw it up again.
Works with DVD Players ...
it does sound drastic... i have no idea! very sorry!!!
good luck with your car!!
taking it apart is the most obveous way.
Rip that sucker out! I hate when that happens and I lose a good cd. You are probably better off buying a new cd it's going to be expensive taking the whole player out.
yeah, i have a mac laptop and the cd gets jammed
all i do is stick in another cd tilll the 1st cd gets pushd all the way, after that either ( if u have a mac) - it will pop out
if u have a cd player then the jammed cd will probly affixiate itself on the cd motor tracks after being pushed by the 2nd cd
i have the same problem with my scion xa
Sometimes it will spontaneously spit it out all of a sudden
but I have used a flathead screwdriver, put it in this way == and then twist it around to pry open the slot. \\ sometimes it will pop out then.
I have hit and smacked the player and it popped out
Try that spray PC cleaner, the air in the can....in the summer the thing all expands from the heat and then the CD can't get out, so if you spray that air into the slot for a while, the air gets cold and it'll cool it off and sometimes it pops right out.
good luck
One of my co workers got a video out of a vhs with a tongue depressor and a paper clip. I don't know if this helps.
look at this one use the tweezer and a little swiss knife and take your time to pry it out or you can take the fuse out of the fuse box and who know when ya put the fuse back in it can reset the cd deal give it a try..budget saver ideas can run wild i guess lol
ps. read your cd player manual first then go for it...
if you are serious ..you can go to ....

Are the ebay audio items any good?
[Question]
I'm just wondering about the amps, subs, speakers mainly.
Do the speakers suck a$$? they say the 6x9's have a maximum output of 1000 watts. But they're cheap so does anyone know if they are half decent? what about the other ebay items?
[All Answers]
I found Ebay (australian anyway) way overpriced. I'd be going into a shop for that sorta stuff. Stick with the big brands like sony/pioneer/kenwood etc.
I don't agree.... eBay give wide selection and not expensive items... It is true depends on brand name.
Try search here http://www.mycarelectronics.com/
i have all my audio equpiment off ebay. I have 1200 xxx amp and 12" subs. i also got 2 6X9 xxx speakers. I have been running everything bor about a year and not one single problem

will a 2 channel amp run 2x 6 inch speakers and a sub at the same time?
[Question]
will a 2 channel amp run 2x 6 inch speakers and a sub at the same time or will i need a 3 channel amp for this?
ive got 2 6 inch speakers and a sub and want to know if a 2 channel amp will run all 3 at the same time
[All Answers]
Yes, first connect the 6"es like you normally would. Then run the negative from one and the positive from the other to the sub.
Doing this will bridge the power to the sub and supply twice as much power to the sub as the 6es are getting.
ehh if you dont care about stereo you can wire the 2 sixes in parelel or series depending on how much power your putting at them and then fun the sub off one channel
but you will mostlikely be
a. over powering your 6s
b. underpowering your sub
or c. both at the same time
id recomend 2 amps for what your trying to do but to answer your question yes it is possible
It can be done, but it's not recommended. What you're planning is called "tri-mode". Most bridgeable 2-channel amplifiers can do it.
To operate a 2-channel amplifier in tri-mode, you need three things:
1. 4-ohm speakers
2. A 4-ohm, single-voice-coil subwoofer
3. Passive crossovers to keep the bass out of the speakers, and the high frequencies out of the subwoofer.
You can't connect the speakers and sub together without the crossovers, or you'll run into impedance problems with the amplifier.
The problem with this type of setup is that you won't have individual level control over the sub or the speakers. If one is too loud and the other is too soft, there won't be anything you can do about it.
You'd be much better off using a 4-channel amp, or separate 2-channel and mono amps.

Playing an Ipod in my Car Stereo?
[Question]
I only have a CD player, no Cassette player... also there is no AUX jack... how do I make it so I can play an ipod in my car??
[All Answers]
There are quite a few FM transmitters out there you can buy.
It connects to the audio-out socket of the iPod, and transmits in an FM frequency you can choose, so you can hear the music on the FM radio in the car.

you could get an ipod radio thing.....

You can't, you pretty much have to get a different car stereo. You do NOT want to get an FM transmitter. They cost around $50 and it's not even worth it cause you hear a bunch of static when you listen to your music, it ruins the song.
