whats you're opinion on kenwood subs?

Question 1
whats you're opinion on kenwood subs?...  i was wondering what you're opinion is on the kenwood w3012DVC 12" subs. i have a decent deal on them and would power them with the kenwood 9104d amp. just wondering how good the subs are?

if you have a better suggestion i have a budget of about 350 give or take a few which includes amp subs box and wiring.

2)   really, my opinion, its all up to you and which kind of sound you want and like. also it all falls into place of which amp your pushing the subs with. i would say if you can test them in your car and you like what you hear. take it.

some people like super lound boom but some people also like it to be musical. its allll up to you. - JoeG

3)   kenwoods ok, but i would go with jl. look around and try to find them on sale or something if your budget is only 350 - Taylor

4)   They're not too good, but then again car audio is completely subjective. You can find a better deal on Craigslist... Look at dB sensitivity, enclosure size, I suggest ported... Although you must remember more watts does NOT mean more bass... - Bodyrot

5)   Kenwood is known for their head units, not their subwoofers. I am going tell you something straight up though. I have 2 12" Hifonics HFi12D4's, and they are just as loud as my friends 2 10" Kicker L5's, and they are a fraction of the price. They are budget subs, 100%, but they are loud and I love them. I am going to add 4 more to the car. I got 2 subs, a box, the amp, the install, all for $349. - g_mcmurran

Question 2
I need help with car audio.....?...  I drive a 1991 Acura legend and the stock sound system is getting bad- the speakers are ok, but the bass is terrible. If I want to buy a sub from Best Buy or something do I need to get an amp with it? I'm looking for value- I don't have a huge amount of money to spend. I know nothing about car audio- so if you have any recommendations or advice- I would appreciate it. thanks a bunch!

3)   ya you do need an amp because your base head unit wont turn out enough power for the speakers. These are not cheap and are usually about $150. But don't by your stuff from best buy, They are really over priced.- go to http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ for everything, ive only heard good reviews - vballer4muhlyfe

4)   Well if you looking to have a real deep sup that will shake your car then ya your going to need a sub because a head unit will only put out about 52 watts per speaker if its a good one. If you put a nice amp in there the speakers will take so much more and sound a lot better and clearer. You can find an alright amp pretty cheap and it would be a lot better than nothing. But for just a overall good sound with an average bass you wouldn't need anything like an amp. I just put new head unit and speakers in my car and they sound amazing and very load but the bass will not shake the whole car or anything like that.

How do I make my stock system loufder? I drive a 2000 Civic SI.?...  I have a bone stock system, do I need to buy an amp? new speakers? I don't want to buy a new deck. I like how it looks stock.

3)   If you just want it louder, honestly your best bet is a deck. It'll be the cheapest way. Once you start upgrading speakers, you need to start amping, which leads to a deck anyways or line converters which are annoying. - Rob

4)   Get a 4 channel Amp with a high level input and put new speakers in it'll make it louder. A new deck will probably not make it louder and new speakers with just an old deck will sound crappy too - steve

Question 4
audio system in a new car.?...  Hi! I just picked up my new Volkswagen 2010 Golf City and as I was playing around with buttons to figure out what is what, I noticed that the radio was not working properly. While some stations sound crystal clear (and even those stations don't even stay clear for a very long time), most are very fuzzy. It improves a little bit randomly when I am driving but it is still very bad. I am not sure if I am unaware of something (in which case I will find out shortly myself) or something is just wrong or this is something normal for a new car for a bit..

The antenna is located towards the back of the car on top (hatchback) and I left it untouched. There does not seem to be anything that I am supposed to play around with though.

3)   If I were you, I would take the radio out and check to make sure the antenna is firmly plugged into the back of it. - NateL

Question 5
Can I get this stop sign traffic ticket dismissed?...  Today, I failed to come to a complete stop, and consequently got a ticket for it. Is there any way to get my ticket dismissed?



I have two things going for me: the ticket was on a motorcycle, and even the CHP class that we are required to take teaches not complete stops. As in, you somewhat roll through the sign while slowing down, because if you really stopped, you would fall down.



Secondly, the officer did not write the model of my motorcycle correctly. I do not own an "XP 12 R", but an "XB 12 R". Small, I know. But hey, I heard that even this type of thing can lead to a ticket being thrown out.



So, do I have a chance here?

2)   That is an odd "chp" class if that is their training procedure !! If you cannot have at least one foot flat on the ground when astride the 'cycle (at a stop), then you need to get a bike that "fits" you - a correct stop does require at least one foot flat on the ground, so that you don't "fall down", although there are many people that ride and their foot (or toes) barely touch the ground.....not good - not 2 B fooled

3)   Challenge it in court, if the pig doesn't show then your ticket gets dropped... You're thinking of a technicality by the way. I'm not sure that applies, and you did sign the ticket so... I really don't think you can get out of it unless that pig doesn't show up to court... - Bodyrot
