How would you rate them? Rockford Fosgate or Hifonics?

How would you rate them? Rockford Fosgate or Hifonics?...  Im thinking of getting a amp right and im thinking about one of the two but i just can really choose. Well how would ya'll rate this great amps, Rockford Fosgate 20001bd or the Hifonics BXi 2610D. I hear they are great amps but dont know which one will produce what they say.

1)   from personal experience rockford fosgate is GREAT... i always use their products... im not to sure about the hifonics, ive never used them... but if it was me, i would choose the rockford - Jon

2)   Hifonics are great amps to but as far as getting the rated power Rockford is the way to go (if you have the money...lol). - Chino

3)   i have an all HIFONICS set up with 2 square atlas 12 and the brutus bx2005d amp and have no problems getting what i need out of them without baseknob hooked up i hit 146 decibels i would choose HIFONICS ANY DAY Just my experience - cheekatoke@sbcglobal.net

Car audio..what's the best speakers brand?...  i have to buy a pair of coaxial speakers ..but i don't want to spend a lot of money (around 60$ )..what's the best brand about quality/price ?! Tnx all ..

1)   just google search- coaxial cars speaker prices at stores......or buy bose speaker Surround sound..... sounds very clean and clear..(not shur on price for coaxial or bose,just google one of them and search the price for them.) - Brandon

2)   Don't lisen to brandon. He obviously doesn't know what hebis talking about considering the fact that coaxials are a type of speaker not a brand. And to answer your question Focals are the best speakers on earth and anyone who knows car audio will agree with me. They can take a lot of power and are crystal clear at high volumes and also don't distort. - redsox21@ymail.com

What can I do/add to get more base in my car?...  I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant w/ an Alpine IDA-X200 ipod receiver and some KENWOOD KFC-C1739IE front speakers, which are 3-way Speakers, Peak: 340 watts per pair / 170 watts each, RMS: 80 watts per pair / 40 watts each. The rear still has the 6X9 stock speakers. I need MORE base. When I play music, there isn't enough base.

What can I do to get more base?

1)   Replace the 6x9's add a sub and amp maybe even add an amp for your interior speakers. - Chino

2)   First of all base is spelled B-A-S-S. If you want more bass your going to need a subwoofer. There are 2 types of subwoofers: SPL (LOUD!!!!) or SQ (Sound quality). A subwoofer from a brands like MTX or Kicker will be very loud but will not compare to the sound quality of a brand like JL. Depending on how much your willing to spend, there are a lot of choices. The cost of a subwoofer can range from $100 to thousands of dollars. If you just want a little more bass in your car then you should go with something cheaper. (Around $200-300 will get you what your looking for) If you want crazy bass in your car that is gonna make everybody turn heads you should plan on spending a good amount of money. Depending on your preference you may want more than one sub. Keep in mind you WILL need an amplifier, (What kind depends on the power of the sub, which can range from 300 watts to 10000 watts) a receiver, which you already have, and most likely a battery and wiring upgrade. You should also consider the price of installation unless you are installing it yourself, which i do not recommend because the installation is just as important as the sub. If you want loud bass and great sound quality check out the JL Audio W7 line of subwoofers. They are expensive but definitely worth it. - Herby

3)   This is a simple answer.... add a subwoofer and amp. You cannot achieve loud, low bass with small interior speakers, you need a subwoofer and amp.



Even a single 10 or 12 with a modest power amp will be a significant difference.

Question 4
Whenever I step on my brakes I hear a crack in my car speakers.Does anyone know why this happens?...

1)   thats the brake lite switch /check for wires close to speakers wires - ken k

2)   it could be that an exposed wire is touching metal. check your connections and make sure there is no exposed wire if there is just use electrical tape to cover it. also check to make sure you have firm connections.

Where/how would I get a sub/amp installed in my car?...  I know nothing about it- i'm sure i couldn't do it myself. would GeekSquad be a good value? or should i see if someone I know could do it... thanks

1)   It's always a good idea to have the stereo installed from the place where you buy it from cause these people are usually familiar with their own products and you may be able to negotiate a free install depending on the value of the stereo you purchase.



Go to an accomplished car stereo retailer and make sure you first discuss the install with either the installer or the person you are booking it with. Make sure they understand EXACTLY what you want cause you don't want to have to pay for this twice. Ask around about the place you are thinking about bringing your ride to, the last thing you want it a crappy install job that costs you money. - Big L

2)   Im sure Geeksquad only fixes computer problems,its not hard installing amps and subs,but if you get it done by a professional its probably going to cost like $150 maybe a little less - A

3)   You can always get a SUB and AMP installed at a store from where you buy it. If you mentioned Geek Squad then maybe you are at a Best Buy location?, if so they would be the best choice because then you can get in-store warranty and they are professionally trained. - Victor
